  • It look like a toy.

  • You could play that video in reverse and call it assembly of a desk. There is a free program on the net that does that.

  • hey esta muy bueno tu trabajo gracias por publicarlo me diste muchas ideas gracias desde santiago de chile

  • dont let china see this....

  • @lumapas I wish they would, his desk is much lighter than the stuff from china. Go to Target find a desk you like, and try to lift the box. That thing is solid lead.... oops I mean MDF.

  • geez whats wrong with you people, why did you even think it was gonna be a video like that? I thought it was gonna be a desk that re-assembled itself : /

  • why do u think this video got viral? the tags? the picture or the title?it a phenomenon. i thought it was foldable , too^^

  • It hasn't gone viral. Just that youtube likes to suggest it as a related video.

  • I thought it was like a folding desk, not "How to take a IKEA desk apart"

  • @headmouse Ha! This is not an IKEA desk. Matt made and designed the thing himself.

  • I find this video difficult to masturbate to.

  • scheisseeeeeeee!!!!

  • Who watched this thinking it was a prop for action movies?

  • the drawers disappear :)

  • do you work for ikea...

  • Hmm, I figured you would have a few joints and the legs would simply fold together, this way seems like it would take much more time :/

    Either way, cool

  • one thing...

    who cares...

  • tumbs up if ur bored.

  • Ingvar Kamprad would be proud!

  • Who watched this because of the picture?

  • Hmm, good point. That video does get surprisingly many views!

  • @weeber3333

I thought it was a "knockdown desk assembly", like a desk that would fall over.

    :\

  • I prefer to use the universal key...........the chainsaw

  • Efficiency and flat packing. I like it!

  • mhmm i can do this is possibly? 1 min supply me with a hammer :o

  • i really like your website. this video was refreshing since you took the time to make a stop motion video

  • Jumping on it works better

  • lol. That probably would break it, but you'd still have the joy of destroying it that way. XD

  • i tried that on a dumpster and fell in

  • lol

  • agreed

  • @stingy1sam or hitting it with a sledgehammer. that would be nicceeeee... *daydreams*

  • @stingy1sam my grandma just have to watch it...

  • it's like IKEA :D

  • i woulda laughed if you just took a hammer to it...

  • Do you have the plans for this?

  • you could build a real sized one like that in the same way using screws and wood!

  • um, it is real sized already

  • is it sturdy???

  • wow tht is pretty awesome o may do something like this but a workbench i can take along with me

  • why did u take the time making a stop motion -.-

  • it probably didnt take to long, for there arent as many pictures as most stop motion videos.

  • I wonder how many studets build their own desks these days.

  • dont they still use egg crates?

  • wow daar word je blij van

    ivhnriujnhib iurhfbnuychruvburbvyrv

  • Coming soon to your local IKEA.

  • now with an increased 10% of missing parts, now you have only 80% of what you need, now thats a deal!

  • get a job at IKEA

  • Seriously.

  • rofl

i love ikea because you can buy kits for dressers that are that size

  • You're a freaking wood working genius!

  • Just get a bigger truck! Just kidding great work. I watched your other videos. Very ingenius.

  • is that ur catch-phrase or something?

  • good one

  • Creative. *applause*

  • Another thing is I have numerous guns that has wooden stocks and foregrips either way wood working is something that cant be replaced with technology. I got some wooden stuff I built that was built all with hand tools no power tools just for the hell of it and they came out alot better and fit better.

  • Woodworking IS technology.

  • I wouldnt say Woodworking is technology. Computers, Tvs, Electronics is Technology. Woodworking I would never lump in with technology because its furniture, tools, ect

  • According to Wikipedia: "Technology is a broad concept that deals with a species' usage and knowledge of tools and crafts, and how it affects a species' ability to control and adapt to its environment. Technology can refer to material objects of use to humanity, such as machines, hardware or utensils, but can also encompass broader themes, including systems, methods of organization, and techniques."

  • You can belive that, I just wouldnt lump wood working as technology. Craftsmanship or carpenter trade sure, but not technology. I also wouldnt hold truth to WIkipedia, they have errors in their user posted articles.

  • Why couldn't technology be made of wood? If you made an adding machine out of wood, or one out of sillicon, what's the difference. Even fire is technology when it's used to better our lives.

  • technology can be made out of wood, but woodworking is not technology. Woodworking is the trade of building things out of wood. You are confusing wood working the trade with wooden instruments. Like you said wooden adding machine is some form of technology, but the woodworking trade which is using wood to make things is not technology its a trade. Just like a auto repair shop is a trade, a car is technology but the repairs of it is a trade.

  • Ok, you're right. woodworking isn't technology, it's a trade. I thought you were stating that you can't create technology from woodworking.

  • Naw, I was just saying woodworking is a trade, I fully understand that technology can be furthered along through the use of wood. Evident as TV`s used to have wood housings or the fact that the first "calculator" was made out of wood with wood beads. Its just a mis understanding is all this was.

  • beads? a calculator? if you know if there is any way that i can buy one like that, i'd be really happy.

  • neato =P

  • So, the trick is to buy wood from sustainable forests, thus ensuring you are usiong a *renewable* resource.

  • I don't see anything wrong with what you just said.

  • seriously...lol

  • great idea! thanks for sharing the video...

  • how long soes it take you to assemble / disassemble?

  • about 30 mins
