What the hell happened to this dude? Oh wait, I was thinking of Paulo Filho. What ever happened to Paulo? He was really good at submissions last I remember
Yves is such a stand up monster, he could give the best Thais a run for their money. Add superb takedown defense and a solid ground game and you have the most skilled lightweight mma fighter that never made it to the top. Yves still the man though...
the question for whos the best lightweight is a tos up.. matta fact all the light devisions are a tos up.. gsp, hughes, kos, silva franklin, the question should be... whos the best heavyweight?
theres to many good fighters out there.. u got jorge comin off a knockout win over yves edwards last week.. roger huerta, melvin guillard, the list goes on and on.. sherk fought his whole career at welterweight.. hes uh big lightweight so he might be the most powerul lightweight but no the best...
Sean Sherk's victory at UFC 73 just goes to prove my point that he is a dominant fighter and one of the best lightweights in the world. Yes, he is better than Takanori Gomi. All that remains now is a clash between Sherk and BJ Penn to determine who truly is the best. For now, Penn is.
okay, you were right about penn. the injury did cost him the welterweight title. But you've got to admit sean sherk vs bj penn would be a great fight.
Best lightweight in the world? You must be joking. He is a great wrestler, but if he can't get a takedown, he's toast! Who did he beat for the belt? Kenny Florian, please! BJ Penn mean anything to you?
I seem to remember BJ Penn got beaten by Matt Hughes and GSP. Sherk nearly beat Hughes, while Penn didn't even make it 3 rounds at UFC 65. So yes, I am saying that Sean Sherk can beat BJ Penn if Penn were to drop to lightweight.
BJ did beat Hughes the first time, remember? He also dominated the first two rounds of the second fight till he was injured. There are plenty of lighweights better than Sherk, the midget will drop the belt on his first defense, a right from Hermes and he'll be sleeping!
Doesn't matter, Penn still lost. Sean Sherk is 31-2 for good reason, and he'll beat Hermes Franca's ass senseless. Penn is not the best welterweight in the world, or he would be champion. And don't give me any grief about Penn being injured because Hughes got lowblowed and put in a submission by Frank Trigg, and he still won.
we'll see about that. penn couldn't either. it was a split decision, but the outcome remains the same. and sherk is not some pushover. he trains harder than penn does.
Sorry, this isn't freestyle wrestling. You shouldn't get awarded for escapes. If that was the case, then John Alessio should've won against Diego Sanchez, and rightfully so he didn't. Hermes posed no threat to Yves Edwards standing up and he did absolutely nothing to him on the ground. He never put Yves in any sort of danger with his submission attempts.
you seem like an ok guy,but your opinions completely suck Ratdick.if people were awarded for attempts and not for escapes ,i would aim at another profession like K-1..or potato sack racing..ahahah
blah blah blah. I did say they should be rewarded for escapes....but eh nevermind. No sense in trying to explain myself to an idiot. There's so many variables and factors to take into account depending on the situation. You'd never get it. I like my privacy. Our academy is professional and respectful and well respected. Unlike you obviously. Go ahead and reply a billion times. I'm done with you. good bye.
Why you say youve been watching UFC since 93?I didnt i fucking ask you.I aint gonna question anyones credibility because 99% people on Youtube are full of shit.I promised your grandma i would take it easy on you so i will.Take my advice and act like a fuckin fighter if you wanna be one.all shit talking aside, you are wrong.
You're the one looking for an arguement and you don't have one. For what it's worth I've watched UFC since '93. I too train about the same as you do at one of the best schools in the nation that has produced some of the best grapplers and fighters, though you probably wouldn't know about that. Anyways, I don't need to waste my time on an ignorant, angry fool like you. Have a great day.
AHHAHA.YOur are the biggest pile of shit.Everything you mentioned is covered by saying "overall agression and octagon control'.Instead you say people should be rewarded for attempted takedowns?YOUR A PUSSY. for real, just stop.your not a fighter your a stay at home hooker.just fucking Stop."i would award for more attempts.." your so fucking lame.I really cant believe how big your vagina is.Your academy is so fucking big but your afraid to say what one.NOBODY CARES.
I been watching UFC since late 1995.I have a MMA LIBRARY OF over 75GB.WHATS EVEN BETTER I TRAIN IN MMA 3-5 times a week AND HAVE BEEN INVITED TO DO COMPETE IN SMall ORGANIZATIONS.So yeah dont worry bout my credibility.Do you honestly think a UFC-newb would care bout this fight.YOU SHOULD FEEL LIKE A ULTIMATE WETBACK RIGHT ABOUT NOW
I'd like to see this whole fight. In my opinion, Hermes Franca WON the first fight(Hermes beat Josh Thompson too but was robbed). UFC judges suck. I think they score it like boxing and ignore grappling. Someone shouldn't be penalized for missing a submission-at least he went for it and tried to finish the fight. He should be rewarded for that, NOT the guy who escapes. You don't penalize people for missing punches. lol
well your a fuckin dumbass...reward the guy for attempted submission?..so lets award guys for missed punches,at LEAST they TRIED TO end the fight...ahaha.you got a great philosophy for sucking cock
I never even implied that they do reward for missed punches. But I would award a decision to a guy who threw more punches or attempted more takedowns and subs because he was more active and not stalling. My point is that it should be the more active guy being rewarded for actually fighting rather than just "surviving." You probably never trained in your life and are just a new fan who thinks you know it all because you watch it on Spike.
Aright there lee murray, i was being sarcastic cuz what you said was completely fucking stupid. What your talking about is CALLED overall aggression and octagon control. They ARE awarded for that AND YES A GUY SHOULD BE REWARDED FOR ESCAPES not attempts.Yeah i do Watch it on spike, problem is I ALSO BUY EVERY SINGLE PPV EVENT.Watched franklin get hammered on Sat.
lol "overall aggression and octagonal control"...how many times did you watch your dvds to get that down word for word? And why are you so mad? I watch all the ppvs too. I could also argue that one should not end up in the position to have to escape. But I do agree escapes should be rewarded, but I also believe that almost submitting someone > almost getting caught in one. I respect and hear people's opinions. You're not very open minded it seems.

Nandolone is a steroid that in normal people is around 2ng/ml and up to 6ng/ml in elite athletes.
Sherk had 12ng/ml , that's twice the concentration studies show to be in the urine of ELITE athletes.
The doctor on the "BEATDOWN" said there is no way an athlete can train or use a supplement that metabolizes into nandrolone in the body in that
high a reading without using the steroid.
That is why sherk will be stripped of his title.
And good riddance to this roid fag.

Mad crazy how the tides turn in MMA Yves beat Hermes
twice yet now Hermes is on the up and up with an
ill 5-0 winning streak while Yves has lost three
if his last very crucial matches. No way am I giving
up on Yves though. Anything can happen and he will
improve for the better. Would love to see a Franca
Yves 3 but Yves has to win a big match before they
give him Franca again.
