  • That was incredible. :D

  • The best stop motion film of the world. Perfect.

  • well I think the train sybolizes the life journey...her big big luggage and all not so necessary stuff are her material world which gives us feeling of certainty and security. the people in the compartment are personification of worlds oddity and variety of dangers which threaten us every day. The material can't protect us from it. The robbers take it and she feels unsteady and exposed. But then she sees beauty and hope even in the small and lively things :]

  • wow, what an exceptional piece of stop-motion animation. So beautifully executed. Using the human eyes and no talking was a perfect way to carry out the story. Officially my favourite stop-motion film ever BIG FULL STOP■

  • Flightplan with jodie foster . no? little bit

  • one of the best short films ive ever seen. fantastic.

  • This is an amazing short film, but I don't really understand it. Can someone please explain? :)

  • This is a good short film at first it scared the chickens out of me other than that its a great animation

  • Life is a journey on a train,amazing film!

  • @SayHelloToMyAsian: It's EXACTLY what you think.

  • is that what i think that guy with the afro did at 5:10?

  • Best thing I've seen in a long while! Thank you!

  • i want to fuck her, deam she is sexy

  • The music is wonderful, does anyone know if it is available to download anywhere?

  • If Buster Keaton had a long lost sister, it would be Madame Tutli-Putli! All jokes aside, she actually reminds me of him a lot: the stoic expression, the doll-like brown eyes, etc.

  • well it aint that simillar but its called "REPLAY"

  • Hey..

    This is greatest art work..

    I'm a fan dear.

    Its a classy animation.

    I'm glad to watch..

  • i dnt get that part with the guys coming in or the sign

  • Amazing! Her eyes are incredibly alive...

  • I really do believe that after watching this a third time, I'm starting to get a grasp on what certain things mean in the film. Madame Tutli-Putli is one of those films where it seems extremely difficult to interpret, but it all ties in with watching it over and over again. You see things you haven't seen the last time you watched it.

I applaud my Film Making teacher for showing our class this film over the other ones he had in mind. While it is bizarre, it has it's own style of.. uniqueness.

  • @SupahJohn I first saw this in one of my film classes too but we never really talked about it. I'd love to hear your interpretation of it.

  • @skubrick24 We actually talked about it. For instance, the symbols with the reoccuring moths/butterflies in it, how they all crows the light. One side of me says the moth symbolizes death, and Madame actually dies in the end as it shows this blinding light.

The other side of me is saying the train moving is her trying to escape the past. For instance, in the beginning, she's clinging on to a lot of luggage, she won't let go of what's in the past, but by the end, the train moves so incredibly

  • @skubrick24 fast, showing that her change is happening too fast. Especially with the last shot of the forest in the last 10 seconds of this film, it shows that her change happened just a little too quickly.

Personally, I prefer my first analysis on it, only because it's the one that makes much more sense to me.

  • @SupahJohn

but changes do happen quickly sometimes, don't they? Sometimes we have to go through some experience in life or to think about how we act to realize our mistakes and struggle for changing ourselves for being free after all.. but sometimes we can be inspired by a little thing and it can be enough to change the whole world. or may be the way we perceive it - is a better thing to say.

  • Dude this is an amazing short film, keep up the good work.

  • Her eyes are amazing, I love how they move around.

  • Amazing beautiful. She is so wonderful.

  • good.. but was it worthy of a major prize?

  • music is most from the constellation artists, members of godspeed ad asmz.. i didn't know that but i recognised them before reading the final credits :P

  • this movie scared the living crap out of me the first time i saw it, and it still gives me chills

  • 예술이구나~! I think this is an example of what we say so called an Art Film---!

  • this movie is bizarre. life is not that gloomy overall; try to think about the bright side of the life!

  • What the HALL.

  • THIS IS AMAZING!!! Thank you all the producers, artists, directors, etc... for giving me some hope. No everything is lost. There are some thinking and creative heads left in this world. Merci pour tout!

  • the eyes are composited human eyes

  • Her eyes are so fool of emotions!! So beautiful........

  • @jedancovek yep, it's bootyfool

  • a friend of mine is responsible for the eyes

  • @tadeusz72 Pogratuluj Maćkowi serdecznie =]

  • Life is a highway, I wanna ride it all night long!

  • this is stunning!

  • one big metaphor brilliant work but i wonder how much is cgi/stopmotion/reallife good ass work

  • this freaks me out

  • Amazing animation. Her eyes especially are a thing of interest in this animation. So life like. :o

  • This was a beautiful story.

  • wow she looks so real

  • why do her lips never move?

  • @TrinneLovesAll13 I guess because it's a silent movie and they had no puppet where you can move the mouth.

  • that's on now

  • isn't the tennis guy a charmer :)...This reminds me of Final Destination

  • the chinese boy is coming from heroshima :D:D

  • @NaziOmega If he is Chinese why would he be coming from japan?

  • @whenthewestwasone FUCK HOW DUMP IAM :S:S THX FOR THE CORRECTING DUDE

  • @NaziOmega Your welcome

  • @NaziOmega learn to spell and learn to be human.

  • I saw that on tv one day... I realy enjoy it! It's so beautiful and sad too

  • artistically amazing, but from an honest standpoint I am thoroughly disturbed.

...so I guess it achieved its purpose

  • artistically amazing, but from an honest standpoint I am thoroughly disturbed.

...so I guess it achieved its purpose

  • Now that is innovative.

  • Amazing develoment of topic and the Stop Motion +10

  • this was reallly nice to watch :O

  • that was so f*** up!

  • her face looks so real

  • So beautiful! It brought me to tears.

  • Stumbled across this completely by accident. Incredibly beautiful and sad - and has left me very moved.

  • that was a stange video but good

  • was this nominated for an oscar i feel like i have seen it somewhere

  • wow, the whole time i was watching that the eyes were so crazy realistic, it is interesting to see the comments now and that they were real eyes used and that most of the comments are about the eyes. It is an interesting peice, I'm not quite sure about how it makes me feel or exactly what happened on the train.

  • her eyes are real! we studied this in university, its one of the elements that makes it creepily life like

  • @EveryWhichWayButStew How could her eyes be real did they superimpose thim in or something like that.

  • @Ham549 thats exactly what they did, youtube search "madame tutli putli eyes" first vid up there will briefly explain it

  • Eyes like a human

  • ... but nonsens.

  • i'm scared lol

  • Wow. Her eyes are really fantastic and the music is exceptional. Wow. This is really great. I'm still a little creeped by the story, but it is fantastic.

  • her eye's look real that was cool I like it...

  • Her eyes are amazing. The animation was fantastic. This entire video was just so great.

My interpretation: the organ thieves killed her, but she had to let go of all of her "baggage" before she could finally die in peace.

  • Oh, to be able to make a puppet perform like that!

  • 09:51 - 10:28 is amazing

  • my comments are not showing up here which is a shame . this is a masterpiece animation . i love it.this is my last go at commenting .here goes.

  • absolutely stunning......

her eyes are soooo expressive ....

  • As much as I love it, I don't get what the guy in the middle of the animation is doing. Changing the train's AC? o_o

  • Poison gas through the air system

  • almost like batman

  • OMG i love short films this one rocks!! it's amazing so sad too! i love it congrats guys you rock!

  • Comments as shallow and narrow minded as 14 year olds!

    What a pity....

  • This is so strange. Is she dying at the end ?

  • joder ke miedoo!! :S

  • love this.!! it is so emotional. it draws u in to her. best short so far. =] <3

  • this is just amazing!

there is so much feeling in me when i see this.

  • beautiful

  • absolutely amazing. the way they do the eyes.. creepy

  • Fuck, that old man is such a creeper. Dx

  • nice vid..kan sum 1 link me to a vid similar to this one..itz bout a little cripled boy and a mother i think itz some where in a desert the mom walks in into this type of shelter/home with a tape recorder. the lil boy get his hands on it nd plays it..he hears a girl nd boy playin..so the boy runs into an abandond city nd replay it the tape again then the mother goes lookin for him nd finds him dead in a skool yeard..

  • What is the title of it?

I would like to see it.

  • @Messistale, U just did it

  • Well, no I didn't.

    ^^

    LOL

But serious, I wanted to know what similar film did @smokay123 watched once.

    It's something else btw. ^^

  • @smokay123 What is it called??

  • the music is spectacular :)

hmm she swatted the moth like a pest in the very beginning.

o_o the chess player which luck rewarded is obviously rich and the one who lost looks like a middle class man.

what is that blue light supposed to mean?

  • @xylyphia

I had not noticed what you said about the chess players. that's interesting.

The first thing that came to my mind when I saw them was that they sort of let things happen to them, rather than actually playing the game for themselves.

  • wow that was amazing.

is it just me or does the child look aged, as well as very body else, who at first seem young, but at a second glance, really not?

funny, when i saw that moth i first thought of "The Death of the Moth."

the last scene with the moth and the light seems that they turn into one entity - an angel?

    so many symbolic details!!

  • she has been a good woman all her whole life, she tries to take all her worldly possesions with her, and finds out she will not be needing them anymore, the end of this trip will be death, and she will dwell in the house of the lord, forever

  • The media plays on emotions. Isn't it a trip from the mundane to fear, hope and then a balance again. Peace, but not mundane any more, but a relief. After all, in the end they do take our organs, one way or another. Parts of the mind see different aspects, but intuition and the whole mind sees and can handle the big picture. One video on here said that with time and complexity speeding up, we are breaking out of our rut, insanity, to go either up or down, or traveling everywhere, freely.

  • la expresion de sus ojos ! demasiado real parecia *.* lindo corto aunq no lo entendi muy bien :S

  • She is a character who prefers to enjoy her comfort, but she also is critically impacted from outside her comfort zone, or is on LSD, or is mildly schizophrenic. And she suffers from this long enough to be used and abused by it,(note how she simply turns away when harassed by the guy instead of walking away or telling him off). Her discomfort gets the best of her so she naturally imagines the worst case scenario and confronts it with her personal headstrong tactic as she wonders through the train

  • the story crumbles away as it gets towards her demise and is too far down the rabbit hole so it is still, uncertain if she regains her comfort zone. She does not talk much in this film so she might be a mute, or might just be a really shy person, or she has a wired jaw because she broke it somehow either way she is a fragile character her battles in the center of the best and the worst of her own self. This is my interpretation

  • i think life is a journey w a lot of baggage;a journey that does not move swiftly(waiting for train);a journey w weird companions w meaningless occupations; absurd education for youth; ignorant and vulgar encounters, then the inevitable end at the hands of the grotesque(in this case organ harvesting to prolong the lives of other meaningless idiots because they can afford it) in the end: the only thing most of us really have: hope for something better on the other side...

  • @oar1974 man u did it well....

  • so what exactly was this movie about though??

  • This was so good. Can anyone tell me their point of view about this film and what they thought about it and their interpretation? Just curious [:

  • I watched this on TV Sunday night. Beautiful animation. I give it 5 Stars!

  • OH I GET IT!! its about organ trafficking. LOLS!!!!

  • Her eyes are done wonderfuly!

  • @buttons402

    That's because they're real!

  • @buttons402 there actually real eyes

  • @legallyinsane456 "they're"

  • @buttons402

To get those eyes, they composited real live-action eyes on an animated puppet.

  • @buttons402 her eyes are actually a real persons eyes composited in, it creates a weirdly human effect that really stands out, eyes being a 'gateway to the soul' and all that

  • 5stars(^▽^)

  • Wow, that was amazing... Better than a lot of real movies out there.

  • It would seem that she's going off the rails on a crazy train.

  • i think it was showing that even though the plot was simple, there was a ton of meaning in her little scene here, especially cause its supposed to show the existentialistic mindset (having meaning in emotions, actions, etc. but I also agree with SasuNaru591. awesome directing+screenplay. loved it!

  • I hate it when I read people's comments when they say "this makes no sense!", "this is stupid!", ect. There is a many meanings to this video. You just have to have an open mind and be creative. Not to mention that the video is amazing and whoever created it is an amazing artist and has such creativity!

  • that was scary

  • 4:35 hahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahah

  • I believe that this video meant that no matter what the older woman went through, she got through it and maybe had a better life or that sort. You just have to open your mind and pay attention. -__-

  • I'm not sure what I just saw, but I think I liked it.

  • same here.

  • what!!!!!!!

  • what!!!!!!!!!

  • what the¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ spechlesss in idkk hmmmm gh

  • damn that was cool

  • Just beautiful......

  • um...

  • This is the coolest movie I've seen in a long time!

  • It's left open for your interpretation. I believe it reveals how she felt in the world; alone and lost, death seemed to be her only way out.

  • So...What was this about?

  • fuckin weird.

    but good.

  • Comment removed

  • What the hell just happened??

  • that was pretty trippy, i liked it except for the tennis player part in the beginning, what was that 'i wanna finger ya and snif it, thats all i ask' kind of gesture, i mean wtf.

  • im gonna do that to someone :) haha

  • Shouldn't there be an "OH!" moment at the end or something? Otherwise it's just an incoherent series of incomprehensible events.

  • Like life?

  • so they harvested their organs?

  • this movie is rather interesting and captivating. It has style. and the music just brings you more into this story, and proves you dont need dialoge to make a interesting film.

  • wow

  • tha fuck

  • jesus christ that was scary!

  • the eyes are amazing!!

  • I think what they did with the eyes was a merging of a filmed real element into the animated piece; thus it creates the most amazing, captivating lively character. This is a work of genius. I will be majoring in film and animation, and I hope to meet its wonderful creators.

  • Now I dont get it in the end

  • THIS WAS SOOOOO CREEPY :o

  • Amazing experience

  • Excellent

  • wow!! my heart is still beating

  • incredible combination of humanity and graphics- the light in the eyes... to the surreality of it all-thru those same so very human eyes

  • Beautifully made

  • Excellent

  • u guys r giving it away! :)

  • Fantastic piece!! I really dig her lifelike eyes!!! Great job!

  • Does anyone know the name of the piece that played in the very beginning of this video?
