  • hehe 1:34 it looks like hes got horns xD

  • Lol my major. Ill be done in 3yrs

  • Lucky guy i want to be a game designer too :) ;)

  • praise God. im so inspired through him.

  • so lucky guys. love doing their work and so much having fun and they got paid for that...i am so jealous

  • Still in high school but this is what I want to do I'm working hard now and I hope it pays off later on in life (I just keep dreaming)^^ that my motto

  • who else say soccer and they said football then you rememberd they call it football int he UK

  • OMG game designer is my dream job... its been my dream job since i was 12 i meen the consept of creating your own world and being able to share that world with people around the world... what an amazing thought im going to college next year and i cant wait *.*

  • @redldue im doing the same, but i have no idea what it actually involves, my friend told me most of it was programming :/

  • so im 24 years old and I have some experience in the php and im going to learn JAVA C# C++ can I learn it in this age :P?

  • @MomoShow9 hey! i know this is kind of a late reply. But of course you can lean it at that age. People here in the U.K go to university and do Computer games Programming where they learn that before the age of 20.

  • @TrueDestined thanks you :)

  • @MomoShow9 That stuff is pretty easy to learn at any age. A language is just a way of telling a machine what to do.

  • @aluisious thanks you :)

  • a few months down the line

  • Hey, I am 13 and I am planning on pursuing a career in computer programming (coding) I know basic C++ but I am planning on doing java because I haven't coded in a while. I know that it requires a lot of patience and hard work but I am willing to learn. So i was wondering if anybody would mind telling me how it will work out down the line. I already understand that the competition is very fierce. Thank you for all replies!

  • I want to do this sooo badly! >.<

Where to start? I just want to learn the coding languages and get started as soon as I can. I don't want to pay for a college to teach me things that is totally unrelated to the creativity and design aspecs of Game Creation and development. I need to learn the Real hardcore s***, not prancing around getting hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt hoping that my lame portfolio is going to impress a Game Company that is looking for MORE.

  • @Takiado When i look for a developer, i dont look for anyone who sits on their ass and plays games. I want a team player, and someone who can learn more, never thinking they know enough. A porfolio would be nice.

  • Im doing computer game production and design at college ... year 2 atm .. tis good.

  • COD 4!!!!!!!!!!! 2:40 :D

  • god change your FOV, god.

  • I am going to be a video game designer, there is no fucking maybe's, i will become one even if it kills me.

  • @iMaulerr quick gaming quiz. what is C++?

  • @HotPocketsBoy an intermediate programming language, i think its the most popular one as well?

  • @iMaulerr god damnit! u passed!

  • @HotPocketsBoy Hahaha :)))) Thanks

  • Oh my gosh, guy at 2:50 was playing TF2. :D

  • @Kochokoi MEDIC!

  • I enjoyed the clip, music - and lunch time. I would have slayed my friends though while they eating a tuna sandwich ^^

  • Football MMO, I can imagine like 264 players charging at one ball.

  • So you did Computer Science, but how did you get into Design? That's exactly what I want to do.

  • soap

  • More propaganda from the 'game programming mills.' The guy in this video (Monumental Games) has the bulk of their work done in India, and is about to go 'bust,' having not had a decent game release in the last 3 years.

  • great camera man.

  • This is so cool.. i wish we had more of it

  • 2:50 - Team Fortress 2!

  • :12

tubbs on tha computer lol oblivious to whats going on haha

  • I'm interested in becoming a computer language programmer. I haven't decided if I'm going to do C++ or Java/Javascript. But are computer programmers needed to help develop videogames?

  • @ApollosInsight Game companies need programmers to design engines for them. its called Game programmer. you develop how the engine runs on the game while the designers create the world and characters

  • @ApollosInsight they do the codes for the guys to move and other stuuf. they do the physics and many other things to help develop a game so ya they are needed

  • So what am I supposed to do if I want create AAA tytle? Wave my wonder wand??? Want to do game, got 10 years of concepts and ideas made by my own... No one wants to help me... :'(

  • @Zentai88 need a programmer?

  • @brotherlybrother11 need whole development team... Small team to create pre-alpha demo, to have something to show to publisher... Unfortunately it's and RPG, hardest game to create I fear... If you are interested for real, send me a message and we can discuss it, ok? Thanx for your reaction...

  • That's a really stupid idea.

  • Football mmo?Now i've seen everthing.....

  • I'm going to be game designer i already script with lua

  • @rune10164 I would recommend start learning , any c language ( C , C++ , C# ) Since this is what the mayor video game companies use, since its really really almost meant for video games, really objective based too , its never to late to start

  • I play this XD =) they kinda failed with the mmo bu tthe gameplay is uniqe !

  • and i ermm then i erm yeah and ehhh ermmm yeah ermmm then ermmm ahhhh errmm

  • Football mmo... sounds like a bad joke.

  • Well... he is a designer. He comes up with ideas and makes sure people do their jobs, give input and stuff. He doesn't have to do the programming or animations. I'm sure he gets payed well, but mostly it's just like any other kind of managerial position.

  • Well this is shite, football. Anyone could program an engine with there balls...even women...

  • OMG everyone needs to calm down where the fire

  • IM MAKING BILLIONS OF DOLLARS ON APRIL19TH WHEN MY MORTAL KOMBAT GAME SELLS and I WILL USE THAT MONEY TO PAY FOR YOUR SISTER TO let me fuck her and i will fuck all the girls with my mortal kombat money ED BOON SUPPORTS ME

  • lol at the porno music in the background

  • lol 1:05 - 1:08 in the background "borat (superstar)"

  • @ChRIs23696 OHH YOUR SO FUCKING GAY LOOKING FUCKING PRETTY BOY i nhave mortal kombat 2011 coming out next month AND ME ED BOON AND MY NETHERREALMS STUDIO HATE YOUR GAY FACE you will never BE AS COOL LOOKING AS SCORPION OR KAZUYA I HAVE A REAL MANS MACHO FACE LIKE SCRPION IN MK DOES AND KAZUYA MISHIMA fuck you fag

  • Comment removed

  • Is it possible for the designer to do more than just designing? and i don't mean a little bit of programming.I mean be a major influence.

  • Ive always wanted to be a game/graphic designer of some sort but I don't know, I find my self enjoying the games more than drawing... I don't know and I'm 17 right now so I got to get on the ball and a MMO Football game does sound interesting...

  • Cant type properly because im out of characters everytime. Hope u understand some stuff if u wanna become a designer for real.

  • @ridiculeh hey fuck this desinging FOOTBALL GAME MORTAL KOMBAT 2011 COMES OUT SCORPION IS THE MAIN CHARACTER he fucked up that pretty boy gay looking sub zero and I WIL BURN ALL OF YOU JUST LIKE HOW SCORPION DOES IN HIS FATALITY fucking faggots keep playing your gay games with your gay pretty boy football SOCCER fucking faggots SOFT PUSSY BOYS ED BOON IS A BETTER DESIGNER THAN THIS FAG IN THE VID ed boon would kick his pretty boy ass

  • @ScorpionMKombat9 youre fucking gay and have no life i hope you die of aids... no wait, that would mean youd have to have sex with someone... my bad

  • @ChRIs23696 FUCK YOU ASSHOLE YOUR FUCKING GAY SUCK MY FUCKING DICK SCORPION FROM MORTL KOMBAT WOULDFUCK UP THIS PRETTY BOY FAGGOT AND KAZUYA MISHIMA WOULD FUCK HIS ASS UP OO MORTAL KOMBAT 9 WILL SELL FUCKING BILLIONS OF DOLLARS BRO YOUR FUCKIGN DEAD SCORPION HAS A TOUHG GUY FACE LIKE ME NO LIKE THIS WHITE BOY PRETTY BOY SO FUCK YOU

  • wait there playing the games of there competition? wow dude that tight

  • @TheJakePresland I dont think you need physics and maths to become a game designer.Just Computer Science...

  • @Spiritbomb88 No im studying for game designer now and you need maths for sure. There are two types of game designers. A Game developer and a game artist. A developer needs maths as basic and for artist its not nesscenary so just saying.

  • @ridiculeh OH NOOOO!! Well....could you tell me what sort of math?Cuz I HATE algebra and well mostly all of it.So if you could let me know what part of math is really necessary ,.... well i could focus a lil more on it then.Oh and what about physics??Cuz I heard to become a game designer you just need to do Computer Science and have to be creative and stuff. But to become a game developer/programmer you need to do math and physics.I hope ur not mixing those 2 up are you??

  • @Spiritbomb88 Well to make it clear, you need either MATHS or CHEMISTRY, one of them is nesscenary. The Game DEVELOPER basically needs maths. Besides, you also need drawing skills (now im not a great drawer but you need to draw stuff, so you u should practice that as well)

  • @ridiculeh What?? Are u serious?? WTF DO YOU NEED CHEMISTRY FOR GAME DESIGN? And for a guy who cant even spell NECESSARY im suprised ur even doing game design. So why do you need chemistry?Do you have to pour some acid or alkaline base over the game to make it playable or what?I dont think that what your doing is even related to game design cuz whatever your doin IS NOT game design.Shut your mouth and try and figure out what the hell your doing.

  • @Spiritbomb88 Basically i typed that reply nonetheless fast and so i couldn't focus on any misstakes made. Anyway, yes you do need either chemistry or maths. You can obviously see you are such a guy/girl who doesn't know what game design is, at all. You are prolly some guy who think its using 24/7 programs and stuff. Well, you do use programs. But it goes along with teamwork. It's not as easy as you might think. Don't talk shet if u dont know anything about game design. Search up some info.

  • @ridiculeh Ok, second reply, i was out of characters. This is my last year on this school. I'm going to america because there's no where to work in my neighbourhood as game designer. So i'm preparing and stuff for my exams which are not that hard after all these years of studying. So in short, in your first 4years you can study for game developer / game artist. A game DEVELOPER needs maths or chemistry. Don't ask me why, that are just the requirements. After you gottastudy 4more years 4 DESIGNER

  • @ridiculeh Well once you come to the US,you'll will then find out that whatever you HAVE been learning about game design is TOTAL BULLSHIT.Ask me,Im a New Yorker. The LAST thing that you would need to become a game designer would be chemistry.Where are you from btw?

  • @TheJakePresland You definitely won't need ICT.

  • 1:37 , i dont think hes human

  • sounds interesting a football mmo, but as you're playing a single player and not a manager I can't imagine what the gameplay would be.

Surely they would not expect people would be satisfied playing just the one character on the pitch? It looks from the video like you're the manager for one player only, a kind of football tamagotchi

  • @DarkShroom ah i see quite a neat concept it's free to try online

  • @TheJakePresland hey dude, i think im at the same stage as the game as you, i would defiantly consider computing over ICT dude, ICT is piss and un related

  • hello all im looking for new talent for tactical studios email me if your interested in showing me your portfolio. reachshon@yahoo.com

  • i wanna be a game desighner what gcse do u need

  • @mickymna its no specific gcse's really, after gcses maybe look for a college course in something relative in this that can lead to university degrees, however there are various routes, just research :)

but gcse's are just a stepping stone towards gaining the specific qualifications :)

  • PM me if anyone is interested in making a game i could use all the help i get you don't even have to have much experince i'll teach you the basics

  • @teddy12300 That will be fun!! But depeneds on how your gonna do it?

  • @teddy12300 im interested just contact me at lalo.venegas_1994@yahoo.com

  • 2:51

I approve of your game choice, mr. Man With Long Hair.

  • It seems as if you guys just have a passion for football itself but you guys are still very inspiring to me. Keep up the good work =D

  • Football MMO?

    Sounds like shit.

  • Football MMO?

    *sigh*

  • @flyliketails lol whats wrong with that?

  • @flyliketails You pissed you didnt think of it yourself arent you?

  • @tr0ybear lol football is shit

  • @paulykid08 if people will pay for shit.. ill crack one out.

  • @tr0ybear lol football.........people think thats fun, most of it is just for the popularity

  • Can you clarify? You're against football mainly on the basis of its popularity?

  • I dunno actually, I not really a fan of footie games at all; but the idea of playing an online match where each player is controlled by a human player sounds pretty interesting.

  • Video game designers get paid over 58.98 dollars an hour.

  • game developing is an art, for me. it is one of the most extensive computer engineering fields. BUT

you should know that, for a good programmer, who loves programming...

it is important to know, how a hardware works, what software is doing in hardware. in other words: you first should learn what hardware programming is, before you enter the software domain. because then you know how your software work FROM THE GROUND UP, and not from the abstractions that have been made in the runtimes.

  • @amrosik That's crap.

It might be good to know but it's not necessary in general.

Hardware programming? What specifically are you talking about? Writing drivers for devices? Sure mate. As if you'd learn that first.

  • @ArchitectOfEvil 1. yes, it is not necessary in general, but it is interesting.

    2. no, no drivers, drivers are way mor advanced than basic hardware programming.

    3. Assambling Language, and yes, I learnd that first (I started with microcontrollers in assambler, for instance)

  • @amrosik Ok I agree now.

I also learned (some) assembly before I did c/c++ at Uni. I did a Computer Architecture subject. You are correct, it is good to understand in some capacity.

But many people are not really capable of working at such low levels. Especially if you don't have a decent foundation in maths and logic, and it's not really fun, is it? haha. It's more like a nightmare. But I agree it is still interesting, though you wouldn't want to write a whole program like that.

  • @ArchitectOfEvil "though you wouldn't want to write a whole program like that."

nope^^. that is why C++ exists. just an abstraction of assambling. and that is a important step. C++ and further abstractions dont make it only easier for the programmer, but this easiness allows for more complex programms.

Someone did the hard work and translated "Hardware-language" (which at the beginning started with simple e-circuits) into complex abstractions which we call object-oriented programming.

  • @ArchitectOfEvil "Especially if you don't have a decent foundation in maths and logic..."

...which is in general not a good condition. if someone has lacks in math/logic or just can not think like a scientist (analytical and logical mindset)...

is dead in the waters, in my opinion.

  • @amrosik That is true.

But there does seem to be many people like that in development, or more especially in the broad group of IT. At Uni I'd say that only 10% of the students were fit for a "real" programming job. The rest just wanted to copy someone to finish it. They didn't care about solving things themselves or in collaboration like an engineering project. Most people in IT are under educated, but they can still get the "process" done. No thinking, just follow procedures.

  • @ArchitectOfEvil "I did a Computer Architecture subject."

    computer architecture is cool.

how many other people took this course?

  • I live in nottinghamshire!!!! AND I APPLIED FOR MONUMENTAL FOR WORK EXPERIENCE! but they were full :(

  • my hero :D wanna be like him!

  • Cod4 :D

  • i prefer to be a hacker.

  • @MrSaggat then... you do need.... to know

reverse engineering. look it up, in google or whatever.

hacking /cracking is revers engineering. it means: you have something, from which you know its behavement, but you dont know how it is built up. so you analyze it, thereby trying ti approach a functionality that matches with the original, even if they dont look the same "inside", but the do the same "outside".

  • this is a little boring,but i like it.:p

  • cod 4 xD

  • plz help me if u know and can tell me where u started plz plz plz I love and like to think of making games and make stories for them and I want to become a game designer or programer don't know witch gets to build the game but that's the on I want to be so plz help me at hotmail - J_Lopez0_o@live.com

  • @jlopez0o Not sounding like an Ass, But Useing Proper Grammer or at Least try to, and thats a good Start, And im not good at it at all, im just telling you, Like don't say "Plz" Say Please, it makes you seem more professional and Serious. And if your that serious about this, do research before you type for help, so at least you have some knowledge instead of saying "Dont know (which) gets to build the game". A Designer makes the Idea for them, and A Programmer is the one who Programs the idea :)

  • @HordeWTFPWNER At least spell grammar right :(.

  • @HordeWTFPWNE How about Not capitalizing Every other Word like This....?

  • @FragsOnFire How bout, I Don't Care, Its not an English class. I was Just telling him, I Wasnt Saying I'm Going to type like Everyone Else. Lol Grammar Police.

  • @HordeWTFPWNER Are you mentally retarded? Don't complain about someones grammar and then have about 50-70% of your words grammatically incorrect.

  • plz help me if u know and can tell me where u started plz plz plz I love and like to think of making games and make stories for them and I want to become a game designer or programer don't know witch gets to build the game but that's the on I want to be so plz help me at hotmail - J_Lopez0_o@live.com

  • I see people here say you need mathematics skill. I'm 14 and going into 9th grade, and I'm going to take honors computer programming and learn Java and C++. I also took a summer class studying video game design working with Maya, Unity, and Unreal Engine. Do you really need to be good at math? I mean I absolutely love to model characters and try to program games, but math is something I feel a bit on the slippery slope on. I'm taking Geometry in 9th grade. A response would be nice.

  • @simba012shadow0 Coding language just uses some algorithms, thats the only reason that it requires mathmatical knowledge. I think if you're 14 and you're already learning that stuff you'll get a job in the industry NO problem. I'm 17 and just looking into the business. So you would have a big advantage in experience over someone like, say..me.

  • I've been an MMO game designer, so this one interested me. Pretty much spot-on, and these guys look like they had a pretty good handle on things. Checked some reviews and the game got pretty good marks (and is still available as a free MMO!), so well done!

  • Mathematics and programming are the basis for all games. Your knowledge and capability in these subjects will determine the limits of what you can design.

  • Im in my last year of high school. and I hope to learn to make games, preferabley console, and start my own company with a sandbox style game called Crime and Glory. But I guess I have a dream like every other gamer in the world...

  • whats the background song in the beginning?

  • what do game designers need to learn 3d design scripting etc?

  • the best thing to do is to start as early as possible maybe doing some type of art and digital animation, plenty of math and of course computer classes, art colleges are good for getting into game design

  • I wanna bea desinger or artist (dunno if they're the same or not:-) but it says does he have the dream job well that depends, someones dream job could be anything it depends what they are interested in.

  • I wana design nothing but war games. massive war games, type of shit that they need to create new computers for.

  • Does anybody have any suggestions on the best way to persue a career in game designing. I have no experiance @ all. I did html in high school but hated it. But i was high half the time. But if you been threw it or are persuing it.Your 2sence will be helpful

  • which subject should we choose to learn though, Computer games design which someone told me isn't held to reagrd compared to computer science students. I was thinking of portable games design eith any of those tand then learn computer games development afterwards.

  • what degrees/courses in what institutes are preferred to become a game designer?

  • I've never heard of football superstar.

  • sigh* so much cod ._.

  • To become a game tester the best and easiest way copy click this link. e75cfapcti3pi3cdyf91ivekdu.hop.clickbank.netx <---- remove the x

  • This makes me want to work harder on my schoolwork.

  • I plan to go to Full Sail University in Florida and take a few classes there. I am going to have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Game Development and a Master's Degree in Game Design. So if you know those are my qualifications would you hire me? I plan to work for either Electronic Arts or Infinity Ward, and both companies are looking for designers/programmers in the near future..do you think they would hire me with those qualifications?

  • WILD AND CRAZY? ON PES?

  • @LordfishKeke Haha, I lol'd!

  • What about Tod Howard from Bethesda Softworks? He usually just makes the ideas and concepts for the game. His crew does everythnig else. He probably does know the simple software stuff, but he usually just maks the ideas.

  • @MorbidWinter

and Todd Howard has to be one of the leading designers today as he heads Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and the Doom series now too? I don't think any other company has rights to 3 masterpiece franchises like Bethesda; however, remember that Howard didn't even become lead until Elder Scrolls: Morrowind; he started as a team member and worked up the ladder.

  • I have a lot of ideas and even pages of a story for a game, but i suck at computers. What could I do, hook up with someone good with game designing & just let him create the game for me?

  • no one would do that. if you have an idea you have to make it yourself.

  • copyright it then send it off to games studios your best bet would be the smaller ones not ones like activision bungie but send it off if you dont youll never know or theyl at least know what you can do. :)

  • Im 14 and i do HTML, Bit of Photoshop and After Effects. Gonna start with C and then OPP C++ Language soon. Being a game Programmer has been my dream job from my age 5 up till now 14. Too bad singapore dont really have much games companies.

  • I'm into Game Design and I always will stick with it. No matter how long the work may be, it's still worth it to see your work come to life.

  • I think you might have effort and you might be big in the future. If I had a company I would hire you.

  • and the hours will be VERY tiring as well as the work. You will be paid well, but not as well as a doctor, lawyer, or even an IT specialist in a different industry; however, if you truly love what you do, and love making video games then by all means continue and do your best! I wish you the best of luck!

  • First off you should know that creating games is much, much different from playing them. A game designer, and game developers in general typically try to be "jacks of all trades". It's good to know a bit about programming, or maybe have an artist background on top of being a designer for better communication (communication is VERY vital to the success of a project.) You probably will NOT be hired to work at a major company straight off, or atleast not given projects on the high profile games.

  • Im 16 and I want to be a game programmer but Im scared about how Im going to learn all the code. :(

  • @TheNoCodeMonkeyGames I am also 16 and wanting to be a game programmer im going to collage to study BTEC Diploma then off to uni to train at a high level of programming, then hoping to work with activision

  • @TheNoCodeMonkeyGames same... but i think i want to get int the level designing :D

  • i am only 13 but this has been my dream job for, like 6 years.

  • Ideal job.

  • yeaaaaah shoot some guns man!!!!

  • YEAH COD4

  • im leaving this summer to go to DeVry university for game and simulation design cant wait

  • same here! but as i thought about it im more of a designer. so i decided to take multimedia design & development

  • i want to be a game designer, but my parents want me to be a doctor!

  • tell them its your own fucking life, game design is probably the funnest job and pays well, and if they don't approve then tell them to fuck off.

  • Lame. Do what you want. I think being a doctor would suck. Game designing is a wonderful job. And you get paid just as much, if not more, than a doctor. Entry level programmers can start out making at least $50,000 a year, and experienced programmers can make from $80-100,000.

  • While I certainly wouldn't want to try to be a doctor, I can tell you first hand that I'd much rather be paid like one rather than as a game developer. I suppose it's relative to the country you're in and type of doctor and/or developer but the payscale in the US and UK is vastly different between the two.

"Do what you love, love what you do"

  • yeah its really hard tho to make it into that field though isn't it?

  • Yeah, it sure is. But it's a hell of a lot easier than becoming a doctor. I think it's a little harder for the designers and artists, because they can only use so many. Programmers could always be a little more useful, because there's a lot of coding involved. But programming itself isn't exactly easy, so...

  • @prodigy372 "And you get paid just as much, if not more, than a doctor.".... You have no idea what you're talking about.

  • Okay, so I kinda made that up. But they still make a shitload of money.

  • who? Game Developers? (this would include designers, programmers, etc. It can be used very broadly.) They don't make a "shitload" from what I've been told and researched, but they do get paid very well for their efforts. a game developer probably doesn't live like a pauper.

  • @prodigy372 Depending on your position, company, and many other factors.

I entered the industry making 55k a year... it's not all glamor. I have since worked my way up, but it is a very competitive industry, and many people seem to think you're handed bags of money.

It's very rewarding, and I work with a great team... but it is also incredibly stressful, and the work loads can be ridiculous.

  • I live in the US but i wnna work for Nintendo from Japan. Anyway i could work this out? I'd still wanna live here.

  • There's one in Redmond, Washington.

  • yeah but i found out they dont create videogame s there, they do other things. go figure. il look again

  • im 13 and i wanna do this badly what field should i go to in college to get a job at what he is doing?
