The ultimate hardware will be 4 inputs(2 stereo pairs) 10 outputs(individual or pairs), Roland effects, individual track BPMs(for polyrhythms, DnB), 8 stereo audio track minimum, 11-24 bit, 44.1-48khz, non destructive editing, mutliple midi ports like mpc, an easy sequencer(like mpc4000), large touch screen(like v-synth), battery, midi clock, 128 polyphony, thumb drive ports, live loop recording like su700, mute groups, an analog bass synth built in like the moog minitaur, knobs. for $1000.
Hows the workflow on the Beat Thang? Why am I asking?: BEcause I have a Tuff time dealing with tons of menus and lose my creativity. From Idea to Laying down Track is it a Fuss or a hassle to get your beat down--> record + chop a sample and lay down patterns?? Please help
I have one in the studio. It is collecting dust. Haven't used it. Shit, I have an MPC 5000 that is reaaaalll dusty. 2 years in the studio and never made one beat on it
Functions and features that make it stand out from the rest: 128 note polyphony, 16 layers per pad capability, time signature select, auto chop with transient detection and pad auto-map, 2 x SD card slots, 2 x headphone inputs, balanced I/O, phantom power for condenser mics, USB A & B connectivity. I haven't tested out the integration with BT Virtual yet. I own an MPC 2500, 4 and 5K and the BT has features and functions that the others just don't have and the build quality is excellent.
Wow, this is the second time I watched this video and it is really informative. I just purchased my Beat Thang and these types of videos are what I need to get up and running. As I said in my earlier post, I have had the MPC 1000, 5000, and the Roland MV8800. The Beat Thang has them beat by a mile in my opinion. It is so much easier to use.
@pjb213 so do you think its better than an mpc beacuase its easier to use or does it have better functions over an mpc ? beacuse if youve owned an mpc you know how easy they are to use.just curious : )
I have owned both the 1000 and the 5000 and found overall the quality, ease of use, and chopping samples so much easier. I realize this is my opinion only but the Beat Thang is so easy to understand and navigate.
does it cost more than say an mpc 1000 ? if so i wouldnt buy it but non destructive chopping is cool pretty sure you can get that with jjos though right ? not feeling the 13 pads 16 is the norm especially if your an auto chopper lol but phantom power damn thats a dope feature especially being in a portable format in that area its got the portable market locked down !
now it $1499.99 at any best buy the original makers of it from Nashville sold its rights to someone else who then stepped up the library and the price...
@komposa1 damn is that the american price ? that seems quite excessive to me especially for what this thing can do i mean how many people buying drum machine samplers use the supplied librarys that often you usually end up importing your own drums etc i dont think that justifys a price hike lol dont get me wrong i aint hating on this machine as ive never used it
This was a great video. I am looking forward to more. I am a 60 year old rocker and I am getting one of these machines. By the way, you couldn't touch anything for $250 that comes close to this. Keep them coming. Old guys like me need more lessons on using this machine.
Thank you for making this video. It confirms that I did not make the wrong decision in ordering one. Can't wait to get my hands on it. I might soon be the first person in Europe with a Beat Thang, unless someone else beat me to it.
