Very cool! Check out my artist/virtuoso guitarist Marc Eric. He played on one of Graham Bonnet's albums and has just released a new CD which includes a cover of "Lights Out" (Michael Schenker)
This is when he was the king. And I don't just mean for back then,I mean ever.Nothing sounds rushed,or tense like how he often does now.Just total expression like a neoclassical SRV.Amazing.
Lets face it, there is nothing this guy can't play. He really is a genius, fucking amazing guitar skills. His picking is so damn fucking clean, by far the best picking technique I've ever seen or heard. To all the haters, I know he is an arrogant fat cunt but if you had even a quarter of his talent you would be too.
@Hertsman50 well he sure as hell can't play chords..never could,,,but yea , he had what ever it took times a 100 eh? based on his interviews and more recent shows he had to have been a child prodigy who never really changed over the years.....could be wrong, but there's no question he was never able to get his foot out of his mouth. The Swedish version of Nigel Tufnel
wow I completely disagree with all the criticism, Yngwie is very melodic, its fast not doubt ,but the melody is there,I dont play that style and would have a stroke if I tried to play that fast and precise,I guess maybe I hear it differently ,hes more melodic and not annoying as alot of the shred guys, still I do agree I like blackmore more than yngwie, Id love to hear them play together
There is only so much of his playing i can take.. Yeah he has talent , Has tone, But if you listen to his solo's? He's playing the same thing over and over again.
He has more technique than anyone else I can think of, but he still manages to sound derivative. I know he has 10 times the speed of Blackmore, but he still sounds like Blackmore on speed. There is no question that he has mastered the instrument in the sense that he can make it do whatever he wants it to do, but what he wants it to do always sounds the same to me. It's not just the speed freak aspect of his playing, it is something in his ear.

One thing about our friend Yngwei here, is you can slow down what he plays and it still sounds cool and makes sense

Love the speed, but when you play that fast, then yes it all tends to sound the same... it sounds fast.

Strangely both brilliant and boring at the same time. And that's quite a trick!
