@Minty210 Very true! Her reaction & the Vicar's bugged me too hehe, but I guess I shouldn't read tooo much into a TV show ^^ The only thing I can conclude is that the Commodore is such a creeper!
@Multazima I did feel sorry for Hyacinth, but I couldn't help but laugh. If her discomfort had been greater than her pretentiousness, she would have told the Vicar to stop the car ^^
I was going to say the same thing, but thought I would read comments to see if I should Co-SIGN someone.
The sexual harassment is SOOOO NOT FUNNY: although I LOVE this show. But I believe, because of the era and lack of understanding of the effects caused by their behavior, It was easier to set it to comedy.
Or maybe where just too sensitive: but I always cringe at those scenes.
But it is weird to see a male attracted to Hyacinth (although men did like fuller women then).
@newone123100 No, you're not alone. Irritating though Hyacinth may be, she doesn't 'deserve' the commodore's attentions as some sort of payback. ~Her~ annoyances are well-meaning - ~his~ employs a sinister kind of bullying that is only ever inflicted on women.
OMG!! I cannot STAND these perves she manages to find!! The commadore is the worse!! The major is very pervy too but shamefully funny!! But this guy just gave me the willies!! ((((shiver)))) So nasty! No wonder she is the way she is,she's probably been molested her whole life by weirdos!LOL Gotta love this show though!
Reminds me of when I was with a chaparoned group and I stepped next door for a minute to get a few things at a store. I encountered a man in a truck who was trying to lure me away with him . To not offend and to get back I said "I have a boyfriend" to which he replied "so what, I have a wife", as though that wasn't supposed to stop me from his "charms", or that his comment was supposed to win me over and change my mind.
@antigauche and the yokel when she and richard look at country cottages. "How dare you sir take advantage of me when my husband's incapacitated." that was so funny when she said that.
Love this show . Much better than all this "modern", silly stuff !!

Probably the ONLY time I ever felt sorry for Hyacinth---was when that vile seaman put his filthy paws on her!

Hyacinth's face a 3:34 is HILARIOUS. She makes uncomfortable expressions perfectly!

4:46 may be the filthiest joke in the history of this show - if you know what "caulking" is lol
