  • i just wasted 54 seconds of my life.

  • It sure as hell ain't funny for speeders

  • Whilst the initial concept is reasonable, this would be financially unworkable in the UK for there are vast areas where there are no digitally connected static cameras. Would a speeding driver be exempt at one site due to speeding, then entered into the lottery at the next due to a qualifying speed?

  • I think the piano stairs should have won. This is just a theory which works around money, not fun.

  • A nice idea, but unless there is a very good chance of winning the money, it won't work. So to make it work, all slow drivers should win (if there is e.g. at least $1000 in the pot, paid for by the fast drivers that preceded the slow driver). So the fines of the fast drivers keep adding up, and as soon as it reaches $1000, the next slow driver that passes the camera wins it.

  • that would be illegal in the US (state governments have legal monopoly on lottery)

  • Too bad that the goverment is dependant of the money they earn in fines (at least in the Netherlands).

  • i would just keep going around the block over and over to get more entries into the lottery.

  • @glenrhodes2 No, you would never know which camera/s were actively part of the lottery in any given month.

  • Das State thanks you for your Obedience.

  • I think it's a good idea, actually. They would have to post a sign that says *Obey the law and you could WIN* with a website at the bottom that they could look at for the details or something like that, THEN people would do it. I doubt they'd do it otherwise. XD I know if I were to come across it though, I'd pass the thing as often as possible just to have more chances. lol!

  • I would just keep speeding in order to get into the contest...

  • what isf they obey the sign around there and nobody gets there money

  • My first thought was how to scam this idea. I am Ashamed. :(

  • This is an absolutely terrible idea.

  • once you introduce money, you introduce corruption

  • What if nobody speeds?

  • how about if someone goes over the speed limit spike strips are rolled in front of the cars? that would really slow people down

  • i don't think that's a good idea because money is involved. you know what money does to people

  • I'm driving by that spot every day! lol

  • would the cost in gas make you lose more then you would earn?:P

  • So now the camera flashes won't just be distracting when someone is speeding - they'll also flash at random cars too, just to keep people on their toes.

  • can someone tell whats the name of the music playing in the back ground, thanks

  • This is totally genius. And would stop us from feeling like speeding fines are revenue raisers. :D

  • i guess Kevin thinks *statutory* law is the law of the land. (oops!:) Kevin thinks that victimless crimes should be punished by taking money from citizens and giving it to the state. good for him: he paid attention in prison cam-- i mean school. Kevin Richardson: winner of the Stasi Society Award. the Rothschilds thank you, Kevin.

  • @jockdoubleday lol, everything is about contests on how to "suck up" more.. why doesn't someone come up with a contest on how to tell the government to f'off in a "fun' way eh!

  • Comment removed

  • The main reason for speed limits is for governments to make money off of fines. They'd never give up even a percentage of their money even if it could save lives.

  • Comment removed

  • this is completly stupid: they didn't actuall do it. Their other videos actually show the idea implemented

  • @givedark They asked for ideas. This is an entry and the winner I believe.

  • hey guys, whats the song? really want it! SOUNDS REALLY COOL!!

  • Positive reinforcement. It just might work!

  • what if someone in a stolen vehicle won it for the real owner. That would be ironic haha

  • i wouldn't work because if everyone is obeying the speed limit then theres no pot so you wont win alot of money

  • @MustangGT41ife You missed the point...

  • Who would have thought that fun can be used as a better way to manipulate people? =D

  • I'd find a speed camera on a round about and just keep going roouuund and rouund and rouund lol :P

  • Oh, I have a theory! Maybe people are violating speed limits since they're set arbitrarily based on politics, rather than on sound engineering principles? Yeah, we REALLY need to go 25 mph on 4 lane road on Sunday because its 500 feet from the back of a school or 35 mph on the country road that is slightly near developments because residents complained?...I'll tell you what would be the best way to get people to obey speed limits....set them based on scientific engineering practices.

  • @sociopathicregret I would have to agree. Over here --in Greece-- almost noone keeps the speed limits because they're ridiculous like 50km/h (sth like 30mph) on 4 lane roads in the middle of fields complete with protective barriers. What I've noticed is most drivers are just being reasonable. On said road they'll do about 90-100km/h (more like 55-60mph) which is completely safe even if it's double the speed limit. It's not that they're "speeding" they just want to get home today.

  • bigger is better

  • Gread idea...

  • but what if suddenly everyone was under the speed limit just to get the money? then there wouldn't be any money collected in the pot :p

  • government wont agree to it, they make big revenue from speeding and parking fines. by doing this they would loose all the revenue from that and also have to pay for operating the speed cameras themselves.

  • This one's kinda stupid. Everyone, and I mean literally everyone who drives speeds at some point. Just about everyone, and I'm talking over 99%, consistantly go one or two miles per hour over the speed limit just because they can.

    Love the other ones though.

  • @IAmARad Right, its because the speed limits are supposed to be FASTER than most traffic, but for political reasons they're set slower than traffic, sometimes up to 20 mph+ slower. Try going 55 through Philadelphia on I-95, rofl

  • do they actually do this anywhere

  • This isn't really "fun"... it's more of an incentive program. Cool idea tho!

  • Another goal for this is for people to use energy efficient cars if they wish to go back and forth for a better chance of winning. Save gas :)

  • Awesome!

  • its a good idea! But... the gouverment WANTS money.. haha

  • nice idea

  • Anything that teaches people that it is good to follow rules only when you are promised a reward is certainly a good idea.

  • cops get paid off giving ticks they cant do something like this!

  • That is quite interesting and people may obey the speed limit, I would certainly love to gain some money just buy following the rules. But the thing is, who's going to be funding this service? I doubt that the state wouldn't even allow it.

  • @FloOFy2 The idea is the people who broke the law and pay the fines are the ones who fund it. But don't tell the state that because they want you to break laws to get as much money from you as legally possible by them. That's why being 10 mins late on a parking meeter that would otherwise cost an extra 10 cents or $1 for the whole hour ends up costing you $60 and increases if you don't pay it on time, and if you continue to wait they impound your car and/or physically steel it from your accounts

  • It is a good idea but surely the motivating factor is financial reward not 'fun'.

    Let's not confuse the two.........

  • @Pelicanlake getting money though could be very fun, imagine just driving along and you come home and find a $100 reward just sitting there? I would definitely be excited. I'm certain that most people go to vegas to have fun, not to be financially successful playing the lottery.

  • @Pelicanlake "fun" is a very simplistic word for "positive reinforcement" / "Enjoyable" which results in something good happening because of something. The reward can either be tangible or non tangible, you get better results using tangible things because positive emotional stimuluses are dozens of times harder to encourage than negative emotions. That's why happy stuff on media gets an "eh that's good" reaction when tragedy and drama draws millions of viewers.

  • Stupid idea...why not start rewarding people for not raping someone, or not killing a child.

    It's the Law..deal with it.

  • @DrJohnners because most laws are used as tools, not because something is unethical. Many laws exist to gouge your pockets as much as humanly possible. It's also against the law to NOT pay taxes... ! It's against the law to go 1 min over on a parking meeter! It's against the law to send bills to the state to pay (they call it scamming but they can give you all they want). The point is to create a financial incentive to encourage people to be good people. Rather than negative punishment if not.

  • What if nobody get caught anymoar then :P

  • I don't want my money to be given to some old granny.

  • @MrPitseleh Then it's just going to the city and the companies that make those lights who get a percentage of your money. They'll use it to wipe their ass as they shit gold nuggets into a toilet made of platinum and flush it with crude oil.

  • I would soooo win this lottery!!!!

  • or you could just speed until you reached one then slow down???

  • They sign is perhaps a bad idea, but this really is a good idea. The word of mouth will spread this good enough for it to work. It's a really good idea.

  • what people don't stop to pay? are you gonna call in S.W.A.T.?

  • @mariotrooper101 they pay the fine lmao did u actually think they stoped the car and took out money lmao they pay iy like a normal fine and then money is sent out in the post

  • PHOTO RADAR IS FRAUD

  • If the purpose was acheived in this video then it would collapse on itself.

    1) People slow down to win the money that people who pay finesfor travelling too fast pay

2)Everyone slows down to win the money

3)No one travels too quickly, there is no money to be given

4)Speed rate returns to the status quo because there is no more incentive.

It is not a bad idea, but it needs work.

  • @danielxcubed

Sorry, but I don't think that "everyone" would slow down to win the money. I think there will be people that speed even if there is a lottery that rewards people going the speed limit. Also, if the speed rate "returns to the status quo" as you say, then there will again be an incentive, driving the average speed down again.

  • How about stop creating speed limits that are stupidly low and go after dangerous tailgating drivers? Then people won't speed!

  • I think this is a horrible idea. The highway is already backed up enough as it is with assholes slowing down to look at accidents or going below the speed limit if there is a cop there.

  • well..in theory...quite nice

  • but by doing this would increase driving and use of oil, so less resources, less money and more carbondioxide in the air

  • disobeying the speed limit (albeit responsibly) is fun

  • I dont like this one

  • ???

  • I'm American, therefore I must anti the sentiments of said video to reassert my negative opinion of humanity. Positivity is surely some nefarious leftist conspiracy to queer up the world. How may I find fault with said positive video? Let me scrutinize and feel self-satisfied for an instant by dashing the hopes of others. Let me see... lottery winnings are better served by giving law enforcement more money to forcibly restrict us from speeding. There.

  • @bearswilleatme fun killer

  • @bearswilleatme Beautiful, beautiful sentiment of the narcissistic tendencies of our countrymen. Schadenfreude and superiority at the expense of others is a distinctly American pasttime.

  • Great incite into human nature..awesome solution...

    Kia kaha, Aroha...

  • wait if everyone tried to keep to the speed limit there would be no money for the lottery!

  • Dumb

  • that is an excellent idea!

the UK government should employ an initiative like this!

  • Fun Theory=Making the dumb to not to fuck up.

I'm saying, that the this "Fun Theory" making the people do something because it's fun, not because it's their own good.

Well it's working right, and there is a whole lot of dump peoples, so this can work well.

  • amazing idea, but if i went over and got fined, i would just keep drivingback the same road to increase my chances of winning my money back. lol

  • @aHIGHasian By spending even more gasoline to win probably really small amount of money. Smart!

  • @aHIGHasian I don't think you caught the point. The first person to do the legal speed limit automatically wins the amount built up by a string of speeders. Chances are you wouldn't be that person if you already sped through.

  • @aHIGHasian notice the LOL in my comment

  • @aHIGHasian id say that if you did speed through it should record your licence plate and ban you for a while from winning

  • @aHIGHasian if you get fined you cant win the money

  • @aHIGHasian lol not a bad idea

  • @aHIGHasian it would probably have a license plate reader to avoid that

  • @aHIGHasian haha, and i wonder how much money you'd have to pay for fuel to increase your chances (XD)

  • @aHIGHasian But obeying the speed limit to do so, thus learning from your mistake.

  • @aHIGHasian That wouldn't work because you would most likely end up on a blacklist which may last for the whole current lottery duration which prevents you from ever being randomly selected until the next lottery.

  • @aHIGHasian the pay for the gas even if you dont win

  • amazing idea,

  • speeding laws are not meant to save lives they are used to create revenue for the state. although this is a nice plan, the state would lose out

  • @livvidd you actually believe that? wow!!!!

  • Entrou pra lista de idéias geniais que me fazem pular da cadeira!

  • Its certainly an interesting idea, but is it practical? They'd be going out of their way to find out your personal info in order to send you any money.

  • @MizuMing they just use a speed camera to get their license plate and the car that was closest to the speed limit gets the money. (ofc, the car must be within the range of the speed limit, if only one car passes at 100mph or 1mph on a 25mph road - sure it's the car closest to the speed limit since no one else was driving, but it wasn't in the range of the speed limit, so the person won't get the money.

  • This is very interesting! I would like to see it in action.

  • @xNerusanx that was just a prototype they wouldnt actually be stupid enough to put lights that could distract people like that

  • @xNerusanx

hey do you ahve to take the dummy sign so literally? it is just visual effect and bring out more fun. dont be so serious!

  • @mskimmichan Haters gonna hate. Enough said.

  • there wouldn't necessarily have to be a sign posted, just the normal speed cameras that aren't paid much attention to. license plates would then be entered into the lottery.

  • @xNerusanx wrong.they are no different than you're average signs that show you your speed.

  • @xNerusanx Texting is illegal, but billboards aren't. Same with lotto billboards which this is more similar to. They would most likely not design the sign to be ridiculously distracting - everyone would know about it, they wouldn't even need flashy signs.

  • @xNerusanx If you're distracted by that so much that you would wreck, don't go to Vegas or any place that has flashing lights. In fact, if that distracts you that bad, just stay off the dang road!

  • @xNerusanx your a kill joy... and a faggot

  • @xNerusanx not really any more distracting than the existing "your speed is" signs out there... or road signs....

  • great!

  • this could be a religious problem tho.... Christians believe gambling is a sin

  • wtf it's not gambling if you're not betting money.... it's just a prize ._. gambling is when you're putting your possession to risk and do something to try to get your double or more of your money

  • @MagicRos3s Not necessarily double or more..

  • this isnt gambling dude, your not putting money on the line

  • @kengenerals

Do christians believe it's a sin to get a speeding ticket? No.

If you're speeding you get a fine. If you're not speeding you get the opposite. It's not gambling, it's a reward for following rules. If you follow "god's rules" you "go to heaven"...Thats not gambling. Though that depends on how you look at it I suppose. Either way...

  • @Umbinator that made no sense, how did christians come into this?

  • @kengenerals

Sorry I replied to the wrong comment. My point was actually exactly that. I was trying to say this to "smileyfaceftw" 3 posts above yours. Oops.

  • I really love the idea:-)

What a nice way to encourage people to do the right thing:-)

  • Nice!

  • interesting

  • That really a good theory , but am not sure what the goverment would think cause they will probaly say you were not suppose to go beyond the speed limit and they make you pay why would they want to give you the money from other people that speed. also there alot of people.:/ just saying:O

  • umm...yeah.....good luck with that

  • Good motivation b/c obv a ticket isn't stopping/scaring everyone from speeding. Fun is good!

  • Thats soooo cool!

  • But then what would happen when all or most people obey the limit?

  • so you just drive past something a million times and you're rich? awesome. please place this everywhere in the world so the economy dies :)

  • @AngeloProduction I don't think so. There won't be a fixed payment to the person who obeys the law, the amount of money will be distributed. I don't think it will be much. And as it's going to be divided and there is a lot of people passing through these signs everyday you can't make too much money this way. It would be simply a way of encouragement.

  • This is such a great idea! Oh how I love the fun theory. :D

  • This is pretty stupid, people shouldn't get paid to obey speed laws?

People already have something to obey the speed law for its called a ticket.

  • @YouTechno Exactly, with this u have two reasons to obey. One for the lottery and two for the ticket you will get for speeding - that funds the lottery. Not sure what the government would think of it though. Less revenue for them :\

  • People obviously aren't too intimidated by speeding tickets, so the money from the speeding tickets would go in to a lottery, and people that are actually obeying the speed limits would then be rewarded for doing so. Positive reinforcement for good behavior, negative reinforcement for bad behavior.

  • Salute !

  • yeah.. let me know when this get to a street

  • too bad speed cameras are government revenue raisers

  • Congratulations! Love this :D

  • Awesome. I love winning :)

  • awesome :D
