I have tried the Yamaha CP300 today, but i still think that FP-7F is the best piano for my family. Can you recommend it? and how often do you use the session-partner, like you do in this video?
Just so you don't get confused, i'm ridihusu from another account.
Do you use an amplifier? I don't suppose this sound is coming from the on-board speakers. I just got the FP-4F, and I'm still trying to get the sound right. I've got mighty Denon headphones, but the bass is a bit too much on this piano. It helps tweaking around with the equalizer a bit, though. The on-board speakers on the other hand are too weak (they have volume, but not warmth).
@Driftkingrik thx. I record on an Edirol R09 connected directly to the headphone output of the FP7
You can use a portable recorder (Zoom, Yam, Edirol, Tascam ...) connected to the piano and the sound got better with free software like Audacity. (effect, compressor).
The intro to 0:46 is MIND BLOWING, so much dept in your chords.... and the melody you play along with it remeniscent to the sunny melody, amazing. I just heard it two hours ago and I've already listened to it like 80 times. This may be the finest piano intro I've ever heard to a song. If you said you lost the file, could you try to replay the intro and upload the midi please? Its just that great
you're very good. what scales do you solo on?? you seem to use a lot of tensions..im practising jazz solo but its quite hard...which scales are the best to solo, what should i practise?? :) and from what scale are the chords on 1.14 - 1.17 and...the solo on 1.40 - 1.47, whats it from? lol lots of questions hope u can help thanks ;)
thx 888dorian! from: 1.14 to 1.17 it's an Aminor7 chord. I play first Bm7 (in the so what position: LH: B-E RH: A-D-F# Then Am7 in the same SW voicings: A-D G-C-E The last chord E7#9, I play: LH: G RH: Ab-C-D-G then 1/2 tone up and down etc... from 1.40 to 1.47 it's a simple sequence: C-C#-F# the same a minor 3rd higher Eb-E-A the same a minor 3rd higher F#-G-C the same a minor 3rd higher A-Bb-Eb and a descent on a bebop scale I presume Bernard
hello! First of all: that's a great version of sunny. Very sensual.
I'm an attempting jazz-pianist myself. I've been playing the piano for 3 years and I'm really into jazz now. If there was only one thing you could say to help me to become a better pianist, what would it be?
First of all, thank you. . You must listen to great jazz pianists, go to concerts to get this musique. There is an interesting book: "the book of piano jazz by Mark Levine", Aebersold are amazing to learn to play with a trio. There are many things to understand and assimilate to play jazz, it is rather difficult . You must try to play with friends if possible. It is very important to record yourself as often as possible, and listen to. . good luck
Is this piano good for all types of music? Is it designed for jazz?

Today (2012) there are many more efficient models, with better sounds. (Roland, Korg, Yam Clavia-Nord- etc ...).

Hi, never use the session partner, it's a backing track made with Band in a Box. The FP7F is a good choice for your family.
