  • "Funny, funny topic!" "Hahaha, your'e so funny." Flippant whores. Either say that it is ok to mutilate your daughter's clitoral hood (the equivalent of the foreskin) as well, or keep the scalpel away from your infant son's genitals.

  • Genital cutting of any child is wrong. During genital cutting the stress hormone cortisol rises to levels considered abusive when we measure it in animals. This is still measurable 6 months after the even.

Joking here, in light of the many horrific accidents that have quite literally ruined lives is tasteless. You have access to the information, how about availing yourselves of it and get informed before you treat a child's genitals and the cutting of them as a "funny funny topic."

  • There is actually more cleaning and more fussing with it when he is young and circumcised. Thats the silliest excuse to default to husband. It should be the boy's choice.

  • I (respectfully) think it's absolutely the wrong advice to suggest that women should abandon their protective instincts just because their male partner wants to circumcise their sons. But, then, I don't feel like this topic really should be a "parents" or "family" choice anyway.

MY body belongs to ME... and it really bothers me that people still think it's their right to do it, despite the lack of medical justification.

The foreskin is normal, healthy, sensitive, functional, valuable tissue!

  • An Elephant in the Hospital

  • @TheChallenger2011 There's an elephant in the hospital? Seriously?? :) HAA! We love it! Why not?! Have a great night!

  • @Inbetweenfriends You both seem like nice people however my comment really wasen't meant to be funny or to make light of this serious topic.

Removing the prepuce of healthy children (male or female) isn't a fit subject for humor.

I was actually referencing the presentation made in 2011 at Georgetown University by Ryan McAllistar Ph.D called Child Circumcision: An Elephant in the Hospital.

If haven't seen it, please do and share it. You can view it here on YouTube.

    All the best.

  • More cleaning to do? How so? The foreskin is attached to the head of the penis until puberty, you don't clean it any differently than you would a circumcised baby; you clean what you see. I don't doubt that you're great parents, but there's a lot of ignorance on the subject of circumcision in this video.

  • @TruTV Thanks so much for this! As you can tell from this video and the others, that we don't take ourselves too seriously! However, we completely appreciate your comments, and thank you for joining in with the conversation! E&R

  • Circumcision removes the most sensitive part of a man's penis. The five most sensitive areas of the penis are on the foreskin. The transitional region from the external to the internal foreskin is the most sensitive region of the fully intact penis, and more sensitive than the most sensitive region of the circumcised penis.

  • @freedom0speech Thank you so much for your comments! Obviously we don't endorse one decision over the other, nor would we ever want you to feel pressured. Mommyhood is all about finding out what is "right" for your family. But keep watching! And thanks for joining the conversation! E&R

  • @Inbetweenfriends

Thanks for the reply. If this topic comes up again in the future, you might want to consider mentioning this, because it could help others in their decision making.
