I visited this railway a few weeks ago with two friends - great day out, sunny and warm. I reckon MHR has got to be the BEST steam rlwy there is [and Im definitely a 'Western' man] Those 'copper tops' do look out of place though, specially trailing all that southern stock!
Thanks, Bernard. I doubt whether it has turned. Both Hall and Castle were facing Alresford. My Uncle and Aunt live about 400 yards from this bridge; don't let on that I was down here, as I did not call in!
The trip, overall, yes. I walked 14 miles (furthest since my accident), but not without a lot of discomfort. The walk up through the woods was nice; ditto the trip to Chawton House.
Great Video!

Nice video. How has that GWR Castle/Hall turned round the other way since Friday?
I've been under that double bridge so many times! Was the trip worthwhile?

I've now been able to identify the loco as a Hall class - straight steam pipes to cylinders; Castle class has curved steam pipes.

Thanks, Guy. More goodies to come, over the next few days, including several more from the MHR.
