  • I have a question... are there consolation brackets in the NCAA tournament? iv'e seen podium pictures with up to 8th place but it seems like these guys (like zadick) just left after they lost in the semis.

  • lol good luck beating abas

  • Iowa Style... Not just in wrestling. its a lifestyle

  • Iowa Style...

  • "And it seemed like everybody around me was rooting against him. Even after the match was over guys were celebrating and acting like jackals. And I had I all I could do to keep from attacking them."

  • Makes me proud to be a Hawkeye! I love the Hawkeye style!

  • great documentary

  • @denzel865 I see y ur saying they're champions but the iowa style doesn't make them even close to champions

  • @giantmetfan97 Really then why in the last 25 years have only 4 schools been the NCAA champs and the majority is Iowa. Minnesota, Okie State, Penn State and Iowa are the only top programs! We know wrestling like the south knows football!

  • song ??

    at the end

  • @FranciscoH96 simple man/ lynard skynard (not sure about the spelling)

  • Truely inspiring. These guys worked hard all season round. They got pissed when they were beat. They got pissed when they won but didn't do well in the match. They got pissed when their teammates lost. Only one quit. The rest stayed and fought. Those who stayed and did the little stuff like running on their own time at 6am or working out at 11pm. Those guys are the real champions in my book at least.

  • There is nothing like Iowa wrestling. Born and raised in Iowa and went to the U of Iowa and even though I did not wrestle, I am a huge fan. I now practice BJJ and watching this was very inspirational. Proud to be a Hawkeye!

  • What ever happened to Mike Zadick?

  • @poolboyinla: he is an assistant wrestling coach at Iowa.

  • @poolboyinla He won a world silver medal in 2006.

  • @poolboyinla He's an asst coach at Iowa!

  • @hookeypokey79 Hope he has found peace in life.

  • @salao212 when you win the title what are you called? "THE CHAMPION." I dont believe in any of that "ohhhh, were all champions because we work hard" shutup...anybody can work hard, only few can be champions

  • these tears are helping me cut some water weight.

  • this is how every school should train

  • I know how Mike Zadick feels. When I was in High School all I ever wanted was to win a State Championship. My senior year was my last shot. Going into the state tournament I was ranked 4th, but was upsetted my first match. Everything I've ever work for was crush within 6 mins.

  • @tsokevin its how it goes man :/ unfortunetly sometime shit doestnt work out the way you hope..... my senior year i was seated 1st to go to state.... tore my tendons week before the tournament...

  • This documentary does a great job at showing what physically goes into wrestling along with the emotions.

  • Bob Zadick is the father of two world finalists (one world champion).

  • The last image of Zadick in the dark shadow wrestling embodies everything I love about wrestling. But anyone who wasn't a wrestler wouldn't understand why that is.

  • I love that they caught Zadick playing tic tac toe in class at the end of the doc.

  • heartbreaking. nothing else you can say. i'll look out for you in london next year mike. keep your head up.

  • pure. one of the best documentaries.

  • did you win nationals because if you didnt, then he didnt turn you into champions

  • @FrankoStanko Thats the most bullshit line I've ever heard of, if you actually believe that a champion is defined by a national title you are a shitty wrestler and a worse human being.

  • I'm sorry, but they way some of these guys respond to losing, is ridiculous. Wrestling, like very sport, is a GAME. It's not lif or death, and anyone who says it is needs to have their head examined. Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya; those are life and death!

  • @wittesco you obviously never wrestled before,or if you have then you must have sucked

  • @wittesco Your right its not life or death its hero or heartbreak. Stop bringing in military stuff, we get it theres those who have the courage to fight in the military and those who have determination to be a wrestler. Dont diss wrestling, its only the best.

  • @wittesco it may not be life or death but if youve ever wrestled you should wrestle likes its life or death. And these guys are sad when they lost because all that they ever worked for in their life wont happen. You've obviously never wrestled before

  • Notice the difference between Zalesky's and Brands' reaction to a losing season? That's why Zalesky couldn't hack it as the Head Coach of Iowa.

  • @tlaplaca1

well he did it for 6 years, isnt that enough

  • @morgall No that isn't enough for Iowa wrestling. Maybe some other programs, but not Iowa. And my point is the difference in Zalesky's and Brands' expectations and their intensity level.

  • @tlaplaca1

sure, every coach is different, and has different ways to learn the wrestlers..i guess you are right about that.

  • On Iowa, forevermore.

  • great documentary amazing program

  • The cinematography is terrible. At least 50% of images are blury. The constant motion of the camera makes the viewer seasick. I think they gave the camera to a drunk hobo. The exagerated lighting contrast makes it hard to tell the color of the opponents singlets. The background music is garbage. Overall very low quality. Is this anti-wrestling propaganda or was this really the best the producers could do?

  • @sebwingfield its called recording it off the tv from a camera shitbird appreciate that the man took his time to upload this for us to view unless you're stupid enough to not understand or comprehend shit from your eyes or ears that you seen from Part 1 through Part 7 cause obviously the rest of us were so stop complaining and go look elsewhere man its a classic and an inspiration to all who wrestle fuck off!

    Peace.

  • @MRfatpersonhater The last one is simple man by Lynyrd Skynyrd

  • this music and what not (of all the vids) made wrestling seem so depressing... when it's the best thing ever! it sort of upset me

  • tom brands is a hardass wrestler and coach i wish i could be taught by him

  • I wish I could get this on my ipod to listen to when i work out..

  • @lokie1010 do you have any idea who sings the two songs featured in this video???

  • amazing documentary

this is what separates wrestling from all other sports

  • very inspirational

  • Oh fuck yeah Im ready to win state!

  • makes me proud to be a wrestler

  • @vansoelen65 same here mate!

  • most inspiring videos iowas wrestling team has gave me a new prospective i new they were a hard nose team but not like this iowa fan for life
