Yes I know its illegal and if its agaisnt your beliefs then so be it but one week of that and youll be able to pull atleast 20 rings no problem with tons of other cool devices

    A+++++

  • During the 3 hours of dig out hunt, did any homeowners ever ask what you were doing? Just wondering

  • i live in atascocita, where would good places to hunt be?

  • I've own an old "shoebox" White detector which I got new 30-years ago... it was premium quality then and cost several hundred dollars. I made $57 the first day I used it the gravel of an old ball park near the concession both (silver melt price during the sliver rush years). I just ordered an ACE 350 w/accessories. Be interesting to see how the circuitry has changed over the years.

  • Dave, thanks man...did my first coin shoot today...at a church courtyard while my kid was at scouts...hound a 1.00 piece and two dimes. Nickel and some trash.. Thx for the video

  • I think that toy police car was from the TV show Dukes of Hazard. If I remember right, it came in a set with the General Lee and Daisy Duke's Jeep. I still have mine from when I was young!

  • 8:33 YES

  • thanks for sharing your hunts...i am interested in the sounds and sights of the metal detector...that is a great bit of experience to share...and the finds are just the reward...

  • You sir are a legend... I found a pile of quarters next to the large tree near the pond at my local park, about 7 dollars worth and i too went to the liq shop to get me a drink after a long day of MD'ing

  • why is there question marks in all the comments

  • people who buy metal detectors are dreamers....just like playing the lotto...I do both but never reaped any big money off either

  • Looks good , I like the video and thanks for uploading it for us to see.

We are hitting a 175 year old Hotel site this weekend , so far we have found some very good items and coins. Keep your videos coming as they are very good in teaching the new ones how this is done. And you just have to keep at it to learn , so when you are new do not give up because in a month or so you will start to find out how it works and find coins.

  • i just bought a Garret ace 250 and i found 2 quarters the first 3 min!! Whats your oppinion on this model?

  • @airsoftkid65 .....It's a great starter-to intermediate detector...Good luck with your hunts...I am uploading all my Metal detecting videos on my new site now if you want to see them...Copy & paste ( AmericanCoinHunting ) That is where I'll be from Now on...Thanks for your question ...Dave

  • @airsoftkid65 Great finds. All I have found with mine are rusty nails...LOL. But the more I use it the better I will get.

  • @airsoftkid65 I had ace 250 but sold it after a month of use. It was going crazy in the forest. I was finding ammo for russian mosin and the detector was liting up like a christmas tree. Couldnt tell much from its display. I dont recomend.

  • wheat pennies are a joke

  • you are awesome

  • all i find is scrap metal

  • how often do people come out and yell about you being on their property? i have always wanted to do spots like these but was always afraid i would find trouble so i stick to the woods.

  • you used a flip right?

  • I got my son a White 6000/DiPRO SL (used) years ago; not a great success, as he was still too short & too lightweight to use it well. I've dusted it off and will try my hand at detecting soon. What's your opinion of this model?

  • @casecroft ...Only Whites I owned...Was an XLT....But in my opinion....I don't think White's ever made an inferior machine...Everyone I know that uses one Loves it & does pretty well.

  • @casecroft I do Prefer whites ive had few whites and i love em i currently own a XLT

  • I got my son a White 6000/DiPRO SL (used) years ago; not a great success, as he was still too short & too lightweight to use it well. I've dusted it off and will try my hand at detecting soon. What's your opinion of this model?

  • Nice finds and info. Thanks for sharing.HH

  • Score!

  • I have a few questions. What is that attachment called and how much are they? and does it have to be a certain metal detector, because I got this crappy one called Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505 and i barely know how to use it. Thanks.

  • @tntrocks13 ............Learn how to use your Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505 before moving on....You have to know your equipment

  • Thank you so much. I am 70yrs. old and looking for a new hobby. I am in excellent health so I can really get around. I only hope I'm not too old to learn all that needs to be known in order to find things. I'll buy a metal detector in the next few days and give it a try. At least I'll get good exercise. In the planting season I culture my vegetable garden. That's a lot more physical than metal hunting. Anyway, your video was so very informative. Not many show you the value of their find.

  • when you said "White House" i was like :O

  • Check my Home page...Then look threw my videos...All that info is there...If you have any more questions..Feel free to ask

  • I'm jealous, I never find anything.

But thanks for posting. someday I'll find something.

  • every month or two I turn in my clad and gold rings for silver coins or rounds from the local pawn shop. This way, I always end up with silver.

    Love that Barber Dime!

  • whats the price f or a desent detector

  • @DanOlooney .......You can pick up a Garrett Ace 150 or 250 from between $150-$225...Either can get the job done...You will have to put in some time to earn that money back tho....Hope that helps..,Dave

  • try wearing an orange vest when dectecting those areas. Looks like diggers hotline to me.

  • Love this vid! Great tips and beer looks great too!

  • Great tips! I'll check those maps at my local library when I can.

  • I've found 1017 coins so far, and not a single one is silver. I am amazed at the things you discover.

  • Thank you for looking in & commenting Dasdfjkl

  • @219erman And my hunting tips? :-) Your rock tumbler idea is brilliant. I am to tired to clean coins when I get home, but tossing them into the tumbler with bar keepers friend is so easy. And it is always exciting taking them out and rinsing them to see how good they look. Believe it or not, I was cleaning each individual coin by hand until seeing your tip. With CLR and then fine steel wool. And they didn't come out as good as the tumbled ones.

  • NICE FINDS ! But no thanks I'll stick to drinking water.

  • Thanks for watching GregoryD57

  • @GregoryD57 I'm enjoying watching the metal and coin hunts, just always been more into nugget hunting, but soon as I'm healthy would love to do some coin hunting, I collect them anyway so why not, LOL !

  • @GregoryD57 Hi, where abouts do you do the nugget hunting, Im across the pond in the UK but Id love to hear where the best places are to find gold / gold coins

  • @mcmrbig HEY, North Georgia has some of the purest gold in the U.S. with a purity at 23.7 kt. The Gold belt follows a line from about just SW of Asheville N.C. to Dahlonega, Ga. on south about 50 miles of Atlanta. Good panning, dredging and sluicing in the creeks and tributaries of the Chattahoochee River. Some good nugget hunting in those creeks and brooks as well as metal detecting. You got it made in the old country as far as metal detecting. We only go back a few hundred years. lol !

  • Thanks for taking us along Dave,

I have hit a couple of small sidewalk tare-outs this summer, with no luck so far, but I keep watching! :-)

good luck on your next hunt,

    Tim

  • Thanks Tim & good luck at that Boy Scout Camp...I'll be watching for your videos of out there

  • Thanks! Big thumbs up on this one!

  • Nice hunt Dave. Thanks for taking us along! Congratulations on the finds!

  • nice video !!

i have a garrett ace 150 since yesterday!

  • Hey Christopher, Thanks for watching my video..I hope you took time to pause & read the tips in the begining of the video...Congratulations on getting your Ace 150...

If you can find a sidewalk tear-out like this in your area...You can really clean up on the Easy silver coins, and wheat & Indian Head cents...Don't pass up that pulltab signal...It may be a gold ring.

  • @219erman

yeah that video really helps me for beginning!

    Thank you.

  • great video! Loved all of the silver!!!!!

  • Thanks for watching Armymanis

  • I've seen those tear outs and thought about doing them. I need to give it a shot after viewing your finds. Thanks for posting the video, congrats and HH!

  • Study the neighborhoods in a 20 mile radius of you DJ...Know the streets by memory that were around before 1940....Take a drive every couple weeks around those old blocks...Thats how I started with it...Then I got friendly with a polititian here,a policeman there...Now they call me when (Allot of times before) the work begins ..So I get a heads up...Sometimes I have to wait a few months for them to scoop that parkway out...But I average 1 silver/2 blocks in a pre 1940 street...Good Luck

  • Very informative video. I don't see many side walk tear outs here but I've been looking. Thanks for the video and loved the Barber! Awesome!

  • Thanks for watching Dixieldy ...Keep an eye out...There are usually only a few of those per year...Maybe only one per year in an old neighborhood.

  • nice finds there buddy

you seem to pull out silver annywhere annytime lol

    liked the vid

    HH DutchDigger

  • Thanks Kris..I have a few helpful friends that still tell me when they see these sites..

    Thanks for watching

  • try 2 tone ferrous

  • Not in these type of sites Ringo853..Most of them are not old enough ,nor do they contain insane amounts of Nails & scrap Iron..In heavily nail & iron infested areas I will go 2 tone ferrous..But hunting these newer sites in the U.S. I can go much faster with Multi Tone Conductive sounds...I did find 3 silvers & 3 coppers in 3 hours using Conductive Multi tones...If I were to hunt 2 tone Ferrous...It would have slowed me down to 7-8 hours on that hunt..Thanks for your suggestion, & watching

  • Cool , when did you find the Morgan? Great video, Awesome hunt!!, Nice barber, merc, quarter, and wheats. congrats!. thanks for the Info. ive never seen a sidewalk tear out around here . Good Luck and Happy Hunting!!

  • Hi Micheal...Thanks for watching..I found that Morgan Dollar Last June...I did not have a video camera at the time...It is the reason I purchased one & started filming my hunts...I wanted to share the excitement I was feeling when I found old coins ...

I have seen you hunt around driveways and sidewalks in your videos...The best walkways & drives to hunt are the old brick ones that paved streest & sidewalks from the late 1800's-Present day in a few areas...Good Luck Brother

  • @219erman cool, I found my Morgan july 24th 2009, its a 1889 no mint mark, with full liberty not worn. it was found beside some door steps near driveway.

  • Cool Michael..I found mine in an old Chicago park..Right by a corner Bus stop @ 4-5 inches deep...It had scrapes & scratches & looks like it popped out of a belt buckle by the marks ...But I'll take it...LOL..My first & probably my last...Good Luck Michael...Keep Your humor up...And keep out of that poison oak & Ivory...Dave

  • @nuggetnoggin Thanks, good luck and HH, ive had bad luck for a while now no silver, just 3 penny days. maybe i can find a few more sites on google maps.

  • That was a nice hunt.

Congrats on that 1906 silver coin. HH.

We dont have concrete slabs on our sidewalks here in my town, they use asfalt, so it is seldom opended up and torn away.

  • Do they still use brick to pave streets & sidewalks in old parts of town X2Com ?

If so...that can hold very old coins & jewelry...Lost in the cracks & between the brick...Also under old rotted board sidewalks & floors...You can do it man...search for pictures of old streets parkways & Groves...The names will give clues

  • @219erman Well yes, they use stone-brick in old parts of all towns in many old towns in Norway, but no wood. most of them just have asfalt.

But yes i'l give it a try one day, and if I see one torn up.

    Thanks for advise:)

  • Some would say your finds are lucky dave, not me. I think your local knowledge, persistence, and legwork are the reason for your consistanly good hunts. Your the man! I only wish i could stay after it like you do. Your 35' quarter melt value is $3.33 at todays spot price (per coinflationDOTcom). I normally dig clad then convert it to bullion, but i do like your style of converting to alcohol. "So Digging Norway....Put that in your backpack! LOL Great vid Dave, JJ

  • Thank you for watching dogcaught ..I also loved that "Coinflationcom".If I decide to sell a feww worn silver for melt...I'll keep checking that site..Thank You

  • Great video and hunt ! Congrats on the silver coins and all your finds. Good luck on your next hunt.

  • Thanks Bill...Have You ever tried hunting these places ?....I will find a silver coin on atleast every other one..

  • Nice finds! We don't see a lot of sidewalk tear-outs in this area, but I'll definitely keep an eye out.

  • Thanks for watching goatofwonder

  • thanks for the tip 219erman i'll check out the local library :)

    HH!

  • Thanks Michael...Good Luck

  • Exellent video Dave. That Barber dime is beautiful.

  • Thanks for watching Dan...Yeah that barber was a sweet suprize...Read & sounded just like a memorial...So I didn't do the full dig on it...Ohh Well

  • Another great video. Awesome finds once again and thanks for the tips!

  • You are welcome Wavesu6410..Thanks for watching

  • nice finds dave, another excellent video. keep em' comin'. what type of detector do you recommend for a beginner? i bought a cheap gold digger detector from wal mart and it is about worthless. have found a little clad, lots of shell casings, and all kinds of pop tabs. i need something in the two to three hundred dollar range, i cant convince myself to spend over that until i see some results.

  • Thank you for watching and commenting kyhillboy1982 ..

There are some detectors in the 2- $300 range that are worth a look..I have heard some good things about the Fisher F2,and the Garrett Ace 250...Both about $200 & $220....If you had a little more money...look at the Minelab X-terra 305..for about $400 new...Or get the older X-Terra 30 used off E-bay for maybe $200-$250...

  • Those sidewalk tearouts are great spots. Nice job! You sure earned a drink or two on that hunt.

  • Thanks for watching Dan

  • Way to go Dave. That's the kind of video I need to watch. I like it when I learn something. Thank you and congrats on the finds. I'm not on call next weekend and plan on trying that rattlesnake thing.

  • Thanks for watching Reb..i am happy if my videos can be informative ,or if I can intertain anyone...Be careful tho...Those RattleSnakes Bite

  • Cute! love the ending...Love those rattlesnakes! Nice tear out video! Super nice finds. Thanks Dave! :)

  • Thanks for watching David

  • Great video Dave but you forgot the "hot chick" factor. Good looking guys like you and me are natural chick magnets and the metal detector just brings 'em a running!! That's why my wife won't let me wear tight jeans when I go MDing!! LOL

  • Hot Chick factor ?...They must know I have a great sence of humor, because they usually start laughing before I say anything...LOL..Thanks for watching Daddydigger1

  • Nice. We may do this for our next video in some of the historic areas near us.

  • Good luck with that 88schwyptrlcar ..Thanks for watching

  • Great vid dave! You came out way ahead :)

  • Thanks for watching Jim

  • Good info Dave, I appreciate it...Don't get too hammered lol....like I've never done it

  • Hey Dave..I was thinking of you when I uploaded this...I was going to send you a message...Thanks for Watching

  • great vid dave, great job on the barber.put that in your backpack

    norway.lolHH bud!!!!!

  • Thanks for watching Dave

  • Nice finds Dave! Does anyone ever try to run you off from in front of thier house? I changed coils on my 250 and that solved the problem. Im finding deep signals now.

  • In over twenty years of detecting tear outs. One time, the site looked the same as this one (All tore up).a guy came out and asked what I was doing..I told him looking for lost coins & jewelry. He said get off my property (Tho it was city easement) I did not argue.I excused myself..Walked 2 houses down and began again .I heard his wife bitching at him about something before he walked up to me.Never had an issue with anyone before or since..I even located property stakes for a few people that asked

  • Find a really valueable coin and your going to have more ruff mornings from the stronger bottle you can buy. LOL. Nice job my friend.

  • Thanks for watching Roger

  • Great one Dave...HH

  • Hello, and thanks for watching Rob

  • One day you are going to dig up a treasure that will keep you in booze for years. You forget the exercize that you get you would have to pay to get that. Don't forget the money you probably spend trying your luck at a gaming institution see when you MD it is like gaming you neverknow what you will get but with gaming you progressively spend a lot more than the metaldetector and you end up with a cardboard home and a 55 gallon steel barrel for a heater.

  • Thanks for watching cdltpx

  • Great tips and video, good hunting !! Nice CDR, lol

Keep @ it and HH !!

  • Thanks for watching & commenting MUDSWAT

  • MAN!! You mangaed to earn your day's booze in couple of hours hunt! A beer and a bottle of vodka!! I would never pull that off!! I guess I just have to say: CHEERS!!!!! Take care buddy!

  • Thanks again for watching DiggingNorway

  • Dave: Come clean, how many silvers have you really found all together do you think? It must be in the hundreds... and what do you do with them??? :)

  • Hello DiggingNorway .Last year I found 317..So far this year I have found 160...That 1906d dime was number 160...I used to have over 1,300 that I found metal detecting..But two years ago,and Inlaw relieved me of them.So I started my new coin collection.I now have over 500 silver, over 2,000 wheat & Indian head cents, and have found more than $500 in clad over the last 2 years..I buy new detecting gear with the clad..And my Nephew will get my coins..Thanks for Commenting..Love your videos Brother

  • @219erman man, thats a ot of silver. Your CDR is excellent. Drink in moderation though... as I do lol !!!! new video uploading as we speak :)

  • Thanks for letting me know DiggingNorway ..I am going to watch & comment on some videos now...H.H.
