  • live here in Puerto Rico and i want to rescue a Sato so much...

  • There are more than 100,000 dogs living on the streets on the island of Puerto Rico. It is a horrific situation for them. "100,000"- a documentary currently in production- further illustrates this problem and explores ways to aleviate and even eliminate it. For more information about "100,000", behind the scenes footage and to share your views and comments you can become a member of the Facebook group "Documental 100,000". Thank you for the support and let's help make a change!

  • =*(

  • Omg that video made me cry

  • omg, how sad, those poor dogs, the demodex mange is from their sick mom's and or stress. Then i bet the poor things have sunburn, fleas. SOOO SAD!

  • I adopted a sato from save-a-sato. Gracie is the best dog ever and we love her. Came from Isabella, PR, to Monroe, Connecticut. It is cold for her but she is happy and healthy. She sleeps on my bed at night. Keep up the good work.

  • that makes me want to cry

  • I have 2 rescued satitos but lets face it. If people don't want a dog why get it in the first place it makes me sick...and I am Puerto RIcan. I hate the fact that I cant help them all. The goverment is no good either... =[

  • The situation with the strays,is so depressing. I just rescued number three, two months ago. Those poor dogs are discarded like yesterdays newpaper.

  • thank you everyone who cares...i've got 3 rescued dogs myself

  • I just got back and made a video for the satos! Even though it's kinda crappy. xD

  • I have rescued two wonderful dogs from Macho Beach. The situation in Puerto Rico with the stray animals, is absolutely out of control.I strongly believed that tourist should go elsewhere, until those poor animals are treated with the respect.

  • Puerto rican tourism does not realy help the economy at all. Infact puerto ricos economy is so dependant on the u.s government that most people are employed by the federal government. So if tourism stops then I dont think things will change for Puerto ricos economy. As for the dogs Puerto Ricans are more concerned with their families and their livestock than muts on the streets. Tourists can all go to mexico or jamaica for all puerto rico cares!

  • What is your point??

  • you are really sick...just imagine...when you're old and not needed, what will you do if someone says-we don't care \bout the old, we've got the young who are more important and more worth takicing care of...your stand is called specism and it's a type of prejudice and discrimination..just think how you'd feel if someone disciminated against you beacuse you are this or that...there's something wrong with you, mate....

  • I rescue the dogs of my country in Chile. I hope one day they will stop suffering: They are my life.

  • Just got back from Puerto Rico. So sad to see all of the satos. I am trying right now to adopt one that I fell in love with on the docks. They are sweet, friendly and desperate. Please everyone out there spread teh word and consider rescuing one. It does not cost much to save a life!

  • I adopted one from save-a-sato thru the Monroe, CT SPCA. The most loving creature ever - cant get enough affection. She has a great home with me for life!

  • Great pictures Mel! If it weren't so expensive to send one here to NY, I would take one home!
