This is actually bullshit, 1000 charges before it starts to discharge. I have 50 cycles and am at 90 percent of what it used to be. Apple sux really bad!
i only ever get about 4 hours of battery life in real world use. i could probably get 10 hours if all i did was type a text doc with the screen on its lowest setting and no wi-fi on but thats not what 90% of people do so i find apples claims a bit misleading. I dont know anyone that achieves the stated battery life on their mac its just marketing crap
my "10 hour" battery goes to 4 hours when just watching 1 youtube video but it does go up to 10 if i do only word processing of there's no applications running, i get 7 hours with just reading something in the internet
are you usinf your macbook pro 13" to record this video??? its great quality...is it a video camera?? i cant get that kinda quality outa my dell XPS M1530
are you usinf your macbook pro 13" to record this video??? its great quality...is it a video camera?? i cant get that kinda quality outa my dell XPS M1530
I bought my 15 inch macbook pro last week and from a full charge I'll only ever get around 3 and a half hours. I've calibrated it too, no improvement. Definitely not the 7 hours I was promised.
Actually, the heat depends on what you're doing. If you're browsing the web (non-video sites) and doing emails/photos, it won't get hot. If you're streaming online video, playing games, watching porn (cough), then yes... it gets very, very hot. As you all know, the battery life depends greatly on what you're doing. I ran a test earlier tonight with screen at 50% with wifi on streaming video from Twit live and YouTube and got just over 2.5hrs. Any other time, It's around 5-6hrs.
Hi, I wonder how to take care of the macbook pro's battery. Should I prevent constantly charging it or should I rather disconnect the charger and wait 'til the battery's dead until I charge it again? Thanks
my macbook pro only last for about 4 hours after it's fully charged. Is there something wrong with mine? I bought my in Oct. 2009. It last longer when I first bought it but someday a month ago I used it for almost the whole day. It got so hot that it turn itself off for like couple seconds and came right back on. It did that two times. Since then I start to notice that it did not last as long as it used to be. Any suggestion? thanks a bunch.
@ssthao stop watching porn too long! it gets it hot! haha.. kidding. you should probably leave a space underneath your macbook.. it get's really hot specially if you're using it in your bed.. try not using it in bed.. seriously.. it says so in the manual.. you should leave a space for your macbook to breathe.
Who cares about battery life when my Macbook Pro keeps killing my battery health in 6 months. I'm on my 2nd battery and battery health is at 40% again. Batteries keep dying FAST regardless of care/calibration.
There shall be created an app to the MacBook Pro which charges the battery up, and when the battery is full, it start using the battery power and just "forget" the charger. (probably using software)
in that way you could save MacBook Pro - but just an idea :)
Ok, I have a question! I recently got a macbook pro and as you know you cant take the battery out. So what should I do in order to increase my battery life? Do I really have to unplug my mac from charger every time its charged and then plug it back in when it runs out of it ? Thank you...
About 2 weeks ago we lost the electricity. The battery was fully charged and I watched videos for more then 3 hours on youtube and when I went to bed it was still 25% charged. I was connected to my Iphone's internet tethering with bluetooth. Not bad. I did see a couple of times over 10 hours of estimated remaining battery life but I don't believe it could go that far.
how long does ur MBP battery last when ur doing ur everyday computer stuff(utube, gaming movies anything)? with wifi turned on? screen brightness, etc etc. And is the battery lasting enough for u?
Try turning Bluetooth OFF! I was thinking about returning my Pro since my battery life would always show 3 hours or less. I turned off my Bluetooth and lowered my screen brightness and now it shows 7+ hours. I haven't tested to see if it is actaully 7 hours though.
Battery life will always be shorter if you use it for higher battery consumption things. All battery estimates for any computer, not just Apple, are taken with reduced settings in non-intensive situations. If you are watching videos or playing games, especially with bluetooth, airport, and full lighting, even with a battery that can last 7 hours browsing or wordprocessing will burn out in maybe three hours. Its probably not the battery, but you with the problem.
Can u give me tips on what should i do when i got a new macbook pro?? and what windows fit best for gaming?? and i am gonna get a 2.53 =)) can it perform better games than 2.26?? i hope so?
hey I'm really tense about my battery life performance, You'll see, after researching through several pages that told me the same shit (I mean like lowing my screen brightness, turning off the Wi-fi, etc) I finally found something that was actually useful, it was a widget called iStat where it tells you the amount of RAM you're using, the temperature of the lap so I downloaded it and it tells me that the health of the battery os 89% and I just bought it a month ago, any help?
Hi im from argentina, i bought the 13 inch pro model and i have to say that running the adobe suite for web design the battery dont even give me 4 hours, so im very angry at steve right now !!
There is NO WAY my new Macbook Pro 15 gets anywhere near 5 hours of actual battery life. It certainly cannot run all day. I would estimate the battery life at 3 1/2 hours, max, in moderate use with the screen brightness on half.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IN 2 weeks I'll get my macbook pro13 so when I saw your unboxing I jump in my bed and I started to thing about making a video like you
HAAA if you can buy microsoft for mac and make a review of microsoft cause in my school I need microsoft so I don't know if microsoft for mac works with ANY PC AND tell me if microsoft mac works with any pc
you spent 9 hours at work surfing the web and looking at photos? and you didnt get fired? i cant believe your boss let you spend the entire day at work playing with your laptop.
\i have seen many people who have had thier laptops die after one single dvd movie
Interesting video... like the way you do not speak as a fanboy without arguments. One minor thing, please crank up the volume.. i have my volume at max and can hardly hear you from a few meters away.
thanks for the video, i'm thinking about getting the 15" because i do some gaming and video editing and computer drafting and need a somewhat large display and a very portable computer, i also need good battery life because my current Dell doesn't get good battery life at all its gets around 3-4 hours and doesn't have a webcam has a 15.5" screen and a single core processor, my computer at home is an new 20" imac and its absolutely awesome so far....
if you were to replace the nonremovable battery at some point in time, it costs $129 vs. about $60 on ebay for the previous generation replaceable batteries. in theory, that's $180 vs. $129 given apple's 3x charge cycle claim is true.
some people can argue carrying an extra battery (previous gens) in case it runs out (traveling etc) but fuck, the new one lasts for 7 hours (~6 under real world tests)....
all in all it just makes sense to get the new one no matter what people argue.
Hey there, I just use good old imovie 09. I have to say I really like it over 08. I think its much improved and will probably do a review of some kind in the not so distant future.
My new Mac Book Pro only lasted 2 and a half hours...watching you tube.
