KypDurron87 - You really have no idea what you are talking about. The festival runs 8 days and there are runs every morning of each day. There are no gunshots. There are four rockets fired. The first is when the bull are released, the second when they are all on the street. And almost anyone who has actually done this will tell you that the valientes who run like crazy at the first rocket are actually much more dangerous than the bulls themselves.

Well apparently, if you're in good physical shape and if you're smart about it, you can give yourself a very good chance of making it out of there in one piece.

First, you need to memorize the track. Knowing exactly how far you've gone and how much farther you've yet to go, as you're running, might save your life. Mostly because there are specific points of the road where you can duck out of there if you feel that the bulls are getting too close for comfort.

Second, DON'T go on the first day

There are three days of festivity, and three bull-runs. The earliest you should be racing by, unless you've already raced, is the second day. That way, the FIRST day can be spent just watching what happens first hand, without being in the thick of it.

Third, ask for advice from the pros. They get there bright and early, about 45 minutes before the start of the race.  The first thing they'll tell you, if you just want to reach the arena, is to run like hell from start to finish.

The thing is, not everyone starts running once the first gunshot is fired. At the SECOND gunshot, the bulls are let loose.

Dumb tourists and extreme thrill-seekers wait for the second gunshot, whereas people who want to make sure they don't get run over just sprint for all they're worth at the first one. They might be laughed at, at the start, but once everyone sees how fucking fast the bulls really are, people will shut up pretty quick.
