It is interesting to me to see this song dedicated to the Messiah by a Muslim artist like Abdel Halim Hafez. I am a Christian myself, but I can really appreciate the sincere emotion that is sung here. God bless you all, in Egypt, in Palestine, and everywhere.

Thank you nana, this is what all Muslims believe, if a Muslim will say that he does'nt love Jesus (as), he is not a Muslim anymore and Allah won't forgive him except if he repented. I practice my life like this I respect everyone because as history has taught us Muslims, Christian, and Jews, lived together for a long time.. I only hate those acts that warrant hate (child molesters, serial killers, KKK, etc) I have friends that are christians because we have more thing in common than things uncommon and we all all human and all have to be judged.

i am christian and i also belive that Mohammed(pbuh) is our Prophet , just like Jesus (pbuh) ! if the christians read in the bibel they will know that messiah is not God! He was Muslim. Keep in mind, all Muslims believe in Jesus as a prophet. Also during the time of Halim, there was great Muslim/Christianity relations - where we both appreciated one another. So it was a sense of compassion and care that he sang this song.

This song was performed by the 3andalib in 1968 in London. Baligh Hamdi composed it &Kamal El-Taweel wrote it.The song talks about Jesus who was crucified by the Jews and it also relates to Palestine and Egypt, "same enemy today (Israelis)".Some comments made me sick. This is a very simpe and poweful song about the birth and the coming of christ. It has no political propaganda. The pictures you see and the voice-overs were added recently, after the death of Abdel Al Halim, may he rest in peace. Abel Al halim died in 1977. If you look at the pictures of Yasser Arafat in the clip, they appear as if they were taken more recently, ie after Abdel Halim's death.

This song was propagana for the Arab Muslim/Palestinian cause in Israel. Abdel Halim, a sunni muslim, is singing a song that contradicts both Islam and Christianity. In Islam, Christ didn't die on the cross, and in Christianity, we do not blame the Jews for killing Christ if it is mankind's fault that he died for our sins. Therefore this song makes no sense.

I am a muslim and I can tell you you are partially right. In every religion the fanatics, extremes and the ignorants are existing. It's just like a cyrcle everyone has to stop by it, like dark ages in Europ, not it's dark ages in the middle east in general. I think the muslim who lives abroad has a better chance of good thinking and discussing variety of staff unlike who lives in Arab country for example, same christian.

Before I leave I want to give you a simple lesson in writing English: You don't put an apostrophe and S with Jesus or Muslims. Jesus and Muslims here are not possessive nouns at all. Plus when you use the apostrophe s with a plural possessive noun you put the apostrophe after the S "Muslims'".

Halim is was muslim, and there really is no connection between him, Jesus and Palestine. This is really supposed to be a political song instead of a religous song. Abdel Halim did sing a lot of political songs in his lifetime and this is one of them.

No. The lyrics are describing the pain Jesus went through and how he was treated as a stranger by his own people. The lyrics talks about the crucifixion of Jesus. Then the singers compare the way the Jews treated Jesus to the way they are treating Palestinians right now
