I disagree with you only because one cannot be 100% certain that they can repay because circumstances happen in life. Let's say a couple moves into their very first house, get 2 car loans and with both of their jobs they can afford to pay it back if nothing happens to them in 30 years. Darn, she got into a car accident and cannot work and he was laid off. He got another job but they cannot make the payments on the house & both cars. With cash you know that you can afford things 100%.
