Labradoodles can look very lab like if they are 1st generation and if the breeder didn't do a good job selecting the parents. Generally speaking, the 2nd generations and beyond have the more typical Labradoodle look.

can they look more like labs? i have a three yr old laboradoodle, and about half of his body is wirey. the rest of him looks like a lab. hes also quite large. i was wondering how can we tell if we got a lab or a laboradoodle cause hes not really meeting breed standards at all...

@ctswright im sure it wont matter now because u already own the dog. unless ur just wiling to give it up because its not a labradoodle

@ctswright Labradoodles arent a recognised breed. They are a hybrid breed. Their coats are very unpredictable and you will have a labradoodle not a labrador as labradors coats are NOT wiry or long. Labradoodle coats can be from very curly just like a poodle, curly, wavy, wirey and even straight if their genes are stronger from the labrador parents! no labradoodle breeder can guarantee a certain type of coat. xx

i have been wanting a labradoodle for a while because i am allergic to dogs and i have asthma so my dad thinks its impossible to get a dog but i hear labradoodles are "Hypoallergenic"

@farttilludieinc well dogs are not exactly hypoallerhenic , infact there is no dog that is hypoallergenic but dogs like labradoodles are BETTER for people who have allergies. other specific dog breeds do help like :
