I think this song supports China and HKSAR rather than during British times. this song honour being Chinese in a socialist way instead of being Hong Kong people.
This was made for HKSAR with Chinese government backing, I should think so.
this song is just talking about ppl in hongkong r still staying there, no matter how bad the situation would be,,, or good times,, they r still there nothing is actually talking about returned to china is good,,,, stuff like that, so,, hongkong ppl should really like this song XD
Er...that's not a translation. I think those are real lyrics. If you try to sing it along to the music, it fits...somewhat. If it were a translation, I think it'd be hard to fit a more literal translation and still be able to sing it as a song.
this is one of the hardest thing about translating from one language to another...there are times that you can not find a word that exactly means the same as in another language....
WHERE ARE THE FUCKING ENGLISH LYRICS!!! this is a shit song, im ashamed.... HONG KONG IS HARDCORE... HONG KONG IS UPBEAT.... HK IS THE SHIT, this song digraces it
I am proud to be a Hong Konger! alotough i came back from my studies for a break, i love hong kong! To all Hong Kongers, go to apliu street! cheap stuff there!
how do I get the download as a real file and the video also as a real file like how did you get it on youtube, it only plays on my wmp and there is no real file for it
I do agree it's such a good song. It's about celebrating your own identity, without forcing you into being terribly "patriotic". And I'm delighted to find that the English version isn't only a translation, but real lyrics which fit well with the music (retain the meaning of the chinese version too!)
The version with Chinese subtitles is everywhere. The official video is in the GovHK website or on the related videos at the right hand side of the screen.

See the JaccChen23 comment below.
Although I agree with you, the translation does not really match.

okay...well..the ENGLISH LYRICS..er...it's so different from the chinese lyrics
YunbingChan 4 years ago
Yes, I do get your point here. It's not me who's done the English lyrics of course.
manmhk 4 years ago
I think that those english lyrics are made for being sung. I mean translating literally isn't hard but it won't match the melody.
TimloO 3 years ago
Exactly!! You can say a lot in Chinese with like 5 syllables, but you can't express the same thing in English with just 5.

2. Click on the first link which directs you to the HKSAR 10th Anniversary website from GovHK.
3. Click on the link "Theme Song" at the left hand side of the page.
4. Scroll to the section "Download Audio (MP3 format)" and click on "Full Version (in Chinese" link 4.85MB.
