  • I boarded the piper alpha during a bad storm in the winter of 78. too rough for the choppers. We went out by crew boat. Crane operator lowered down a boarding basket from the clouds 1000 feet up.

the Brits and Scots jumped on cool is ice. I was looking for the nearest exit. Tough, tough men. Tough, tough conditions

  • I'm an ex North Sea Tiger now living in Perth Australia. Watching this gives me the creeps and sends shivers down my spine! Just remembering the chopper out from Aberdeen, rough as sheeps guts! It's totally different down here mind you. The chopper doesn't just drop 100 ft and make you S&%T yourself on the flight out or home! No massive swells and barely any movement, even on a semi or a drill ship. No way would I return home to Aberdeen to work out there now. Not for all the money in the world!

  • @Stuarty88 Man up lol

  • I have been offshore a few times doing welding work on lift-barges and jacket platforms, but where I have been did I experience extreme swaying of the structure. It is amazing to me how much those platforms were moving with the waves. Great vid!

  • What people will do for oil. Looking at this I now know it will be very hard for my people of Ijaw lands, Niger Delta to be free from multi-nationals(Shell, Chevron, BP) and the government set up by this companies and their owners. Simple truth to believe you do not have to rebel agaist the truth. There is no 1 country that have 100% democracy. What have human right, UN, NATO done right since they form them(business for the rich)?

  • @kuroyoroki ,have a drink and get laid, you seem a little stressed

  • nice

  • my fucking arse would be nipping if i was on that fucking thing!!!

  • This is really nice to experience. 90knots in yer face! I love it!

  • I would need a bottle of valium before I worked on one of those

  • at 20 seconds , damn big wave man

North sea is pretty wild , even though it isn't that deep

  • u fuckin retard ...the reason the north sea is so wild is because its not very deep...

  • That is true , I realize now . But why such a bitchy response?

  • im sorry, im a seaman...... it may seem like a rude response but on a ship that response is considered really polite...i love you really man!!!

  • @sustanonsandwich LoL @ "i'm a seaman"!

  • @hollandshoop thats why its pretty wild because its quite shallow the waves are quite big in storms.

  • Thats nothing, you should see the waves in the Persian Gulf, they get about..................1ft high! Fuck being in the North Sea do the rigs ever tip?

  • @HoltyDUFC1 some of the semi subs have been known to....very very very rare though

  • isint it 4deg before u roll over

  • We were on a semi in the same weather, check out West Phoenix at 65 deg North.

    Keep Safe

  • Can you feel these platforms moving in bad weather,or are they rock solid?
