  • Joseph Smith was either a Prophet or a Genius. Maybe both? : )

  • @LukeAir2008

I think he was a Negro.

  • @LukeAir2008 Prov 2, 3

  • Read Alma 34 for true understanding of the atonement. It's all based on mercy not justice.

  • Mormon - m = Moron

  • I'm moving to Utah to go on a mission to convert mormons to atheism and show them their religion is even more insane than most. I mean...'golden plates' founded by a convicted con artist...how desperate are you people?

  • @HugeJohn51 Eph 5:23

  • that little korean bitch need me to Fuck her RaW!

  • i still dont understand what ur all trying to preach!! christians say one thing, you guys say another, but in the end its all just babble and bullshit that dosent conform to the real world as it is today.

then u get the catholic church changing what they preach because the new world cant live that way!!

ur all a little bit pothetic and a little bit psycho in my opinion. maybe u should all find interesting hobbies and live a happy and fulfilling life instead of intruding on ours...?

  • @bovineuniversity1290 Jacob 2:26 let not this pride of your hearts destroy your souls...

  • @bovineuniversity1290 2 Ne For the day of the Lord of Hosts soon cometh upon all nations, yea, upon every one; yea, upon the proud and lofty, and upon every one who is lifted up, and he shall be brought low. One thing that Heavenly Father has helped me to understand is that Pride and ignorance is not a good mix... Heavenly Father invites all people to seek knowledge and understanding as hidden treasure. Prov 2

  • I'am an exmormon

  • Didnt think Mormon women went around knocking on doors. Must be very rare.

  • @Budguy68 Not rare at all, actually. I mean, of course there are more LDS male missionaries but there a quite a few sisters as well. :)

  • There is no defending mormonism. It is what it is. The one and only for believers and an absolute joke to everyone else.

  • @zingalind Eph 5:23 There is one faith and one baptism... Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth... My brother's and sister's we can choose to believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ and the message of the restoration is a joke... But I promise you that God will not be mocked.

  • i'm so excited. i have my call already and i'm just preparing to serve.

cant wait to get out there and preach the gospel in Brazil.

  • I love missionaries! They are so cute and adorable. It's fun to tear their hearts out with facts and reason...the stress on their face is priceless. However, it's good to open them up so they can reach a higher potential than they would being their previously unreasonable selves.

  • @kmanmonkeypig

No. The missionaries pay for it themselves.

  • So, did the church pay for travel and living expenses or not?

  • @KmanMonkeyPig : Nope, all missionaries pay their own way. They pay about $350 per month for living expenses and they pary for their airfare to wherever they are called to serve. The Church does provide for their plain ticket home. Thats it.

  • One of my favourite door approaches when I was a missionary was to say it directly: Jesus Christ sent us here. We want you to hear His message of happiness. Would you like to hear it?

I knew it was true. And there were a lot that came to know that, too. For those that wonder what makes us do this, it's the happiness that comes from seeing that joy in them.

  • So do you get travel and living expenses paid by the church?

Otherwise i do not understand why anyone in their clear mind would do this..

  • @KmanMonkeyPig I did it because I came to know for myself that Jesus Christ was my Savior and the Son of the God. I wanted to share that amazing truth, and was able to do so for two years because God was with me every step of the way.

Were the gospel of Jesus Christ NOT true, there is no way I would have served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!

  • @DefendingMormonism

Okay.. I am sure you did it for your belief in Jesus...

But, the church paid for it, right?

I am not looking to start some argument.. just curious how it works..

  • Comment removed

  • @KmanMonkeyPig Because not only is it about coming to know your savior, it's learning to become responsible and grow up. missions are hard, but you can talk to almost anyone and they'll tell you it was the best time of their life. It's all about you and your relationship with the Lord and sharing it with others. Young people who go on missions have to sacrifice so much to go on a mission. It helps them learn and grow and become mature, and it's hard but it's worth all of the sacrifice.

  • @optgiverabbittrix

I traveled around for 3 years also, meeting a lot of people.. having fun.. and also sacrificing, because i did not see my relatives or friends much during that time..spent a lot of money and time that put my education behind a few years..but, It was probably the most interesting time of my life also.. but it had nothing to do with religion, so the fact that they share their religious stuff, is probably not the deciding factor why they consider it the best time..

  • @KmanMonkeyPig To serve a mission is to serve others...

  • @Philip02K

Sure it is.. I have seen how much money it brings in.. Those fancy temples do not grow out of the ground from nothing..

  • @KmanMonkeyPig Nope, as full-time missionaries, we pay a sum that is the same sum for every missionary no matter where they serve. Although many of the fees that aren't covered by that sum are paid for by members' tithing. And the reason why we consecrate our time and everything else is because it's true. :D

  • @KmanMonkeyPig Matt 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. ( Earth, Destiny of ) Rom 1:16

  • The smell of printers ink and the hum of the huge press helped President Monson feel he was in his element at the printing services building. Before being called to the Quorum of the Twelve in 1963, he was general manager of Deseret Press.

  • Well, one thing I gotta give you: opening this video up to comments. That took guts.

  • @wannawatchu66 Thanks. All of my videos are open to comments. That's part of the fun of YouTube. I have full faith and confidence in my religion. Thus, I don't need to worry about all the hateful lies written by many on here. They ruin their own cause by the negativity they espouse.

Besides, one day I will be vindicated by Jesus Christ himself for the testimony I have shared through these videos.

  • I hope to one day serve a mission. I first, however, have a lot of personal challenges to overcome. I hope that any mormon, or any christian for that matter, to pray for me that I can overcome the challenges I am facing. I know this is the true church, and I would like to say for any mormon haters out there who read this, i was a huge skeptic against the church always, but when the missionaries came to my door, i gave them a chance, and i can honestly say it was the best decision ive made.

  • @Nagaraboshi Thanks so much for your sincerity and bold expression of faith. God bless and good luck!

  • @DefendingMormonism You're in my prayers. You can do it. Just remember, the Atonement can help you overcome anything and EVERYTHING.

  • :D I just got my call this afternoon I'm sooo excited I leave on the 21st of Jully just wanted to said great video T_T

  • Go go go missionaries! We can do it!!!

  • These guys are the reason why water balloons in the dollar store part section are all sold out!

  • Some of the Sisters have the flag of their country of origin attached below their name tag. Where and why is that done?

  • @Troul478

It is done mainly at official Church visitors centers, e.g. Salt Lake City - Temple Square, Washington D.C. Temple visitors center, etc.

There are so many visitors to these places, many who come from all over the world, that my assumption is that Church leaders wanted it to be easy for people to find those who speak their native languages.

  • Man's greatest dilemma is explained in D&C 1:31. The solution is what the missionaries teach.

  • What? I have no idea what you are talking about?

  • Trust in the Lord and serve faithfully

President Eyring, Elder Ballard speak at stake conference broadcast

  • "But you know better," he said. "Because of the revealed word of a merciful God, you have seen your true reflection in the water and you have felt the eternal glory of that divine spirit with you. You are no ordinary beings, my beloved friends all around the world. You are glorious and eternal."

  • This highly intelligent statement says much more about you than about Mormons.

  • He dude, stop it, stop it. Calm down a little. You can keep worshipping your "Biblical Christ" or your "Traditional Christ" if you think you can squeeze God between the two covers of a book. But I will keep following the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • Troul478-

Unfortunately some people don't realize how silly they sound.

I always think about how similar our situation is to Jesus Christ and what people said about him.

He was "evil" and "of the devil" and "blasphemous" etc etc

It's fascinating how good can be twisted by the Adversary to look bad. But we already know that will continue to happen.

  • i love being a mormon..

  • He is your God too. He is your Father in Heaven.

When you pass on to the next life, then you will know.

But you don't need to wait until then.

  • Mormons helped me when I lost everything so say what you wish but I owe my life to the Mormons that day. I was a truly helpful gift from thy Father.

  • Goomba1011-

Thank you very much for sharing.

The reason that 50,000 missionaries are preaching the Gospel all around the world, is because they sincerely want to help people.

Continue to stand firm in the faith, my friend.

  • Google "September Dawn"! Everyone must know the horror behind the mormon poison!

  • japanman104-

It might be useful for you to know that "September Dawn" failed miserably at the box office, b/c not only was it not based on historical fact, it was also a terrible script, and full of very poor acting.

Besides, will you put your fate in the hands of Hollywood?

    Or God?

  • Journal of discourses are opinions and speculation, not regarded as doctrine as far as I know. Evidence that Joseph Smith and Brigham Young were true prophets of God.

  • Joseph Smith was an honest person and true prophet of God who testified of Christ.

  • smithbyu, after studying Joseph closely in priesthood meetings over the past couple of years, and also personal study of what the critics have to say, it becomes more evident that Joseph was an amazing, diligent, loving, sincere, and superb human being. The critics are the real gold-diggers, except all they seem capable of digging is dirt, but by flinging that around all over the place they are blinded to the real treasure -- Joseph the prophet, the faithfull, and the intelligent.

  • allzago-

    well said. thank you!

  • no mormons do not follow the teachings of the biblical Jesus, mormons believe they can become a god,we christians know we or they will never be a god, cause there is only one true and living God of israel isaiah 43:10,mormons teach another gospel that paul warned us about 1 gal 8:9,and christian mean follower of Jesus Christ, the devil is real read matt 25:41 from the bible, where the devil and evil people like you get thrown into the lake of fire.rev 21:8 14:11

    mormons are not christians

  • oceantalk1-

I am sorry that you have been so unhappy since leaving the Church.

Your obsession with trying to prove that Mormonism is false is obviously not very healthy and will not bring peace in this life.

    Know that God loves you.

  • I love being a born again christian, the biblical Jesus Christ is the best thing, that has ever happen to me,happy are those who hear the holy bible word of God,and who obey it and who apply it in their lives,so you see I am happy, mormonism is a evil cult so buyers beware.

  • @oceantalk1 glad im not apart of your watered down christian faith, arrogance and pride is your best friend, your god is "uknown" and a mystery,so at least we have jesus figured out,but keep on calling us evil if it makes you feel good and rightous, your comments tell me you are from being a christian buddy so the jokes on you!

  • Who is this "Biblical Jesus" you keep talking about? I don't know that guy. I only know Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, our saviour and redeemer. You should better stop spreading your sectarian views and follow the Lord.

  • hey you mormons worship a different Jesus Christ,Don't cry we know the truth

lds mormon false prophet gordon b. hinckley said he worship a different Jesus Christ

no I don't believe in the traditional Christ, the traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak, for the Christ of whom I speak has been revealed in this dispensation of the fullness of times,Gordon B, Hinckley desert news, church news section, salt lake city utah, week ending june 20,1998,page 7

  • @oceantalk1 - Yeah... good call... except on the "false" prophet part. We believe in a PERFECT, UNCHANGING, CONSTANT Jesus. Not in one that changes every couple hundred years to accomodate the changing beliefs of "Christian" sects. We believe in the LIVING Christ, not one hung on a cross, dead, who performs no more miracles and no longer communicates with His people. That's the traditional "Jesus" that most christian denominations speak of.

  • @BigIrishman16

Isn't the knowledge of a living Christ who still loves his people and still speaks to the earth priceless?

  • @DefendingMormonism Mormon Jesus and Christian Jesus differ in that Christians believe that Jesus is God. Mormons believe that God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost are three different Gods.

  • @mikeyjwest Mormons believe that Jesus is God! I am sorry that you are confused.

  • @oceantalk1 you dont get to define what a christian is,and you sir by your own comments are far from it!

  • smithbyu-

    You're spot on.

Ever since the beginning, people have been trying to twist who Joseph was into something completely different.

The same went for Jesus Christ himself.

  • DefendingMormonism, that is so profound. Jesus was accused of cavorting with sinners, doing unlawful things on the sabbath, employing the powers of the devil, blasphemy, being a winebibber, and on, and on...accusations based primarily on scriptural interpretations of certain Jewish traditions. Much like certain Christian traditions today and their attacks of Joseph and Mormonism (Jesus' church) based on their scriptural interpretations. This is history repeating itself...how sad...and ironic.

  • mormons are good people, they mean well and i think it is great that they help others. BUT joseph smith has ultimately deceived his followers. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the light! Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior. not "jesus" brother of lucifer...... sorry that doesnt cut it. God bless you.

  • yungwun3108 - Joseph Smith devoted his life to Jesus Christ and made the ultimate sacrifice by defending his faith, to the death.

Mormons are unafraid of speaking of things "as they really are, and as they really will be" even about the pre-existence - before we all came down to this earth.

If you would rather be a part of a Christian denomination which does not speak in specifics, but vagueness and obscurity, then go ahead.

I prefer the real thing, straight from Jesus Christ himself.

  • The Book is Blue and the Church is true!

  • @LukeAir2008 And Jesus Christ is Mormon, too. :D

  • If by "simple message of Christ" you mean one without responsibility, covenants, priesthood power, the Gift of the Holy Ghost, modern revelation, etc etc

If this is what you want - a diluted version of the real thing - then that is your choice, and go anywhere but the LDS Church.

But that is not what I, and millions of others have chosen.

We prefer the fulness of the Gospel which brings an abundance of peace and happiness, and allows us to return to our Heavenly Father's presence.

  • The last thing that Satan wants is for anyone to reach their potential - Godhood.

Thus, like he is doing with you, he will convince you and make sure that you never become like God.

Unfortunately that is not God's plan at all.

God created his Plan of Salvation, and sent his Son Jesus Christ, so that we can all overcome sin and death, return to His presence and receive eternal life.

If you don't want to fulfill your potential, then God won't make you. And Satan will be happy that you don't.

  • you won't be a god

    Satan

  • saggley-

Thank you for your constructive comment.

However, even when you sign your name as 'Satan' you still won't be him.

You should probably make other goals in life - like becoming like God.

Jesus Christ is there to help you along the way.

  • DefendingMormonism, I have a couple of questions, I hope you don't mind answering them.

What is man's chief dilemma on this earth, his biggest problem?

This one is twofold: 1) What does the atonement of Jesus Christ do for an individual? 2) What does the atonement of Jesus Christ do for humanity?

    Thanks!

  • theblueside55-

Mormons believe that the atonement of Jesus Christ allows an individual to overcome sin and death. Christ is the Mediator who has payed the price and through the infinite power of his atonement individuals can repent and gain forgiveness for their wrongdoings.

Jesus Christ's atonement has made it possible for all mankind to be resurrected and gain a perfect body after this life, regardless of their choices in this life.

  • Overcoming death and being resurrected is a FREE gift through the atonement.

However, overcoming sin can only be done through our accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior, and choosing to follow his commandments.

  • "Let's start with the prophesies of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young to see which came true, shall we?" Joseph Smith prophesied on more than one occasion that the Saints would build a home in the rocky mountains. He foretold the Civil War in 1832(D&C 130:12-13). Brigham Young received almost continuous guidance on the journey West, enough so to be labeled the American Moses by those outside of the Church.

  • whereever there is righteousness is the church on Earth. You pointing your finger isn't helping. However we do know your baptism doesn't count. We don't discount your faith in Christ, but we know there is No authority found in the schools the pastors and priests attend for that certificate. One must be called of God by Revelation thru PROPHECY. No other way under this earth will do.

  • That is true. I was at an airport one day and this guy had a clipboard pointed that out and that they cannot call home except for Christmas and Mother's day, etc. and then at the bottom it said: Why can't we do the same? It was from a protestant church comparing what little their youth does to how much the LDS missionaries do. We are being watched and they know we are way ahead in following what Jesus wants his true disciples to do as far as missionary work is concerned.

  • bueno40 - great story! Thank you for sharing.

  • as a spiritual seeker..this appears appetizing.

  • clayLavl - The message that missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have to share with you is the most appetizing and fulfilling of anything you will ever hear.

The Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ will leave you never hungering or thirsting for spiritual truth ever again. You will have an abundance.

  • Sorry, but until you gain a hold of correct English grammar, I am not going to talk to you any further.

You clearly don't understand what the message of those scriptures and accounts were anyways.

  • By the way... I love this video!!! Missionaries are great! They are in their 20's and they are serving the Lord 24/7!!!! What other religion have their youth doing this for 2 years??? No carreer advancement, they will graduate 2 years later than his non-LDS friends, no dating, no dances, lots of waking up early and reading scriptures and praying, doing service and teaching people how to better their life. You gotta love them!!! They are a blessing to the whole world provided by the true church!

  • I think it is interesting that someone who is 40 thinks that someone who is 17 cannot bring him the truth and some light to his life. David was young, so was Samuel when God called them to be his servants. So many were called when they were young. It was that mindset that rejected a 14 year old's story of a vision. Too many people become wise as they age... but too many become proud and won't listen when God speaks through a young mouth. Listen to the children when they speak of God and be happy

  • Please, I did not mean to offend and am sorry if I did. I am just wanting to keep things civil. I apologize.

  • Mormon missionaries brought me the truth of the gospel, they helped me in many ways to get nearer to Jesus Christ. They are young, but servants of our lord. If you want to learn more about Jesus Christ, invite them to your home.

  • I'm the real thing, don't be like that. We do not hate on other religions or their beliefs.

It is not up to you to judge another and their faith system.

  • stormin,

christ set up his church with a foundation of apostles and prophets. the church according to Ephesians epistle would have that organization. Organization = order and not chaos.

Our apostles have a recording of the voice of the LORD God! There is a difference between belief in God and knowledge in God's existence. We testify that HE LIVES BECAUSE THE APOSTLES HAVE WITNESSED HIM LITERALLY!

  • Um, i know that LDStruechurch :)

  • Just take it easy ,ok....?

  • I subscribe to several Anti-Mormon channels,I also subscribe to many "Pro-Mormon" channels & have many close LDS Friends.....So...?

  • ElderJoseph 's quote: "They are uneducated kids on the whole."

My reply: Ps. 8: 2 Out of the mouth of BABES and sucklings hast THOU ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest STILL THE ENEMY and THE AVENGER.

    ...and

    1 Cor. 1: 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

  • ElderJoseph 's quote: "Bitterness and insults from you just shows ' by their fruits'."

My reply : The ONLY "BITTER[]" person I see is a professed ex-LDS who keeps going from LDS video to LDS video spouting off his "bitterness"..lol..why?...must be somehting inside you making you come back time and time again...you know what they say..."you can leave the church, but you will never leave it alone" - the condition of those in the pangs of Hell.

  • ElderJoseph's quote:"They are misled and deceived and expected to pass this on to their recruits."

My reply: "deceived"?...ROFL!! you mean we should believe in stead in a three-in-one god, getting paid for preaching about Christ, Just believe and read a prayer and WHAMO - your saved, or how about once saved - you can NEVER fall out of grace - so go out and sin - it's ok...God will only beat you with a few stripes....lol...got more ..wanna hear it?

  • I think you show a quite arrogant attitude towards Christians of various sects. In fact also LDS leaders are paid (although I wouldn't call them clergy), I know a lot of people in my ward talking about a "3-in-1 god".

Concerning the point you made about "once saved always saved" I'll just quote the following: "I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent."

  • rubadubwise's quote:" In fact also LDS leaders are paid (although I wouldn't call them clergy), I know a lot of people in my ward talking about a "3-in-1 god".

My reply: You are not a member of my faith and if you were..you must not be active in the church or you are about to leave it...to say such stupid things as we believe in a 3 in 1 god - no we don't... - sorry...you must be in the wrong church if you believe that..as for LDS leaders being paid..only thier transportation costs

  • "as for LDS leaders being paid..only thier transportation costs" - c'mon, please wake up. Do you think the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, the First Presidency etc live on charity?

  • Funny how one knows by certain comments that people make almost ALWAYS gives them away. You are either IMPOSTERS or soon to be ex-members or are ex-members of the faith...the TRUTH always comes out..I see you subscribe to a well known anti-mormon called "slu2com"

yep I figured you for one of them..so don't try to pretend you are a member of the Lord's church - LIAR.

  • ElderJoseph's quote: "They lie[blah, blahblah]...becuase they don't have Testimony's of the mormon church."

My reply:...watch "Jesus Camp"..and I can tell you in our church...we do not see stuff like that...judge by the "fruits"...I was part of apostate christianity and I can tell you from personal experience...I feel the Holy Spirit in Christ's TRUE church whereas the spirit I felt at other churches were more akin to the rush one gets at a live sports Game or music concert - big differance!

  • ElderJoseph's quote: "This is a deceptive church founded on lies and deceipt. See my Mormon Leaders lying Videos for the facts and reality of the origins of this so called church. "

My reply: I watched that video of yours and LAUGHED...is that the best you can do?...seriously?..it was absolutely LAME and as I commented on it...show me where he lied?..you couldn't. Tell us where he lied?

You really seem fascintated with Christ's church...why?...you keep coming back over and over again

  • These are just kids pressured to please the church leaders and/or their own parents etc.

In my ward those who were sent on missions usually spent their time playing on mobile phones throught the meetings and hadn't even read the Book of Mormon.

In the real world they struggle as people can easily find out via the Internet that what they are being told is a whitewashed version and blatantly factually false in many cases.

The church needs to be honest about itself.

  • Making sweeping generalizations based on your own small sphere of existence or skewed perspective will not get you very far.

Of course there are missionaries who might waste their time. There are some who don't go for the right reasons.

However, the fact that these 19-25 year old LDS men and women spend 18-24 months of their life doing their best to serve God and their fellow man is pretty remarkable.

They are dedicated, courageous, and humble.

God Bless these representatives of Christ.

  • The internet?

You got quite a nice source there.

  • ElderJoseph's quote:"These are just kids pressured to please the church leaders and/or their own parents etc."

My reply: I wasn't "pressured" nor was my friends...we all WANTED to go because WE BELIEVED...so I guess your comments are just that..."YOUR" comments and "YOUR" experiences..I think you either did not serve a mission and are bitter or you did because you were "forced" as you say because of peer pressure - that tells me...if you did serve...you did it unworthily...

  • "Do not judge, or you too will be judged."

  • I only reply to those who ATTACK our Lord's church...so read the comments in CONTEXT - if you understand what that means.

If you don't have a testimony of the church or are looking to find fault with its members..then LEAVE the church - go believe in the 3 in 1 god of false christianity and all you got to do is read a prayer to be saved ...lol..they could use more disgruntled ex-members of the church - usually because I find those who leave the church...have a lot of immoral issues.

  • Have I ever said I profess a trinitarian belief? I just said that some members I know have such a kind of belief to show YOU that not all members have the same views about the godhead like you, although they're in the same church (you cannot speak for all members all over the world "...as we believe in a 3 in 1 god" - hope you can realize that). I never made any allegations concerning your standing in the Church or your activity in Church meetings, so why do you?

  • You are a fake - I know many anti-mormons make up profiles and then try to seed the web, blogs, Youtube videos with pretended membership in the church. Like I said...even if you are a member - you are on your way out of the faith...to say STUPID comments like you do,First, no member I know who is ACTIVE and knows his/her faith knows that we do NOT accept that FALSE idea of the 3 in 1 God. Second, WRONG again - they get thier transportation costs covered and a stipend (very small) to cover costs.

  • Evil men destroying the gospel of Jesus? Are you talking about Joseph Smiths attempt to rewrite Jewish and Christian scripture (KJV-JST or however you may call it)?

  • incorrect info. you are way off.

  • rubadubwise's quote:

'Evil men destroying the gospel of Jesus?..."

    My reply PART 1:

Well why do you think all those Epistles were written?...um...because the Saints were living the Gospel? Come on ...there were people "falling away" from the teachings.

This scripture in 2 Thess. 2:1-3 points this out VERY CLEARLY.

The word "falling away" here in verse 3 in greek is "apostasia" which translated exactly means "a defelection or forsaking of truth".

  • The "gospel" although not finally edited at this time was available for a lot of people in Galilee. The fact that people were living a life outside the principles/teachings of Jesus has nothing to do with the availability of a scriptural tradition of Jesus' message. What JS did with the KJV: He inserted/edited some verses of this (rather middling) translation according to his new and often changing religious views but without any exegetic expertise or justification.

  • rubadubwise's quote:

"The "gospel" although not finally edited at this time was available for a lot of people in Galilee."

    My reply:

I'm sorry, but where do you get your information from?...absolutely ABSURD - NOT even REMOTELY historical. How do I know this? I hold a degree in Religious Studies my focus within that degree being early Christianity 1st-3rd century and I am currently working on a MA in this. The "Gospels" were NOT being circulated to many of the christian communities.

  • rubadubwise's quote: "What JS did with the KJV: ... according to ... changing religious views but without any exegetic expertise or justification."

My reply: So you expect a PROPHET of the LORD to be well acquainted with Hellenistic ideas of textual criticism and techniques - right?

Col 2:8 "Beware lest any man spoil you through PHILOSOPHY and vain deceit, AFTER THE TRADITION of MEN, AFTER the RUDIMENTS of THE WORLD, and NOT AFTER CHRIST."

Again - who are YOU to counsel the LORD?

  • Part 1 continued...

People twisting the truth is evident by the volume of scriptures that the Saints are warned about - see Jude 1:3 for one example. This scripture warns the Saints to "earnestly content for the faith which once was delivered unto them - why content for something they once HAD? Because people were changing the doctrines - they needed to "contend" for the original teachings that were being corrupted by "evil men" - it certainly would not be "good men" doing this right?

  • rubadubwise's quote: "Are you talking about Joseph Smiths attempt to rewrite Jewish and Christian scripture (KJV-JST or however you may call it)?"

My reply: Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. Prophets can UNDER REVELATION FROM GOD write, translate, admonish, call to repentance, give the CORRECT INTERPRETATION OR MEANING of a scripture.

If you are refering specifically to the "Inspired version of the Bible" - that was the LORDS doing - who are YOU to counsel the LORD?

  • relaxing music who are they?

  • The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, one of the best choirs in the world.

  • Great video...keep them coming and may the Lord bless your efforts.

  • MereMessenger

Interesting how you keep turning up on all these LDS videos...sounds like you are questioning down deep inside you your own beliefs since you can't seem to stay away...I know...I once fought against the Lord's church like you do now - I did it because down deep I felt I needed to prove to myself it was wrong...because it scared me to know that it was the TRUTH because that would mean making changes in my life I was not prepared to make due to pride, lifestyle choices, etc.

  • Like Alma the Younger?! Who eventually became a great missionary!

  • Thanks, but I am nowhere near deserving that comparison - but thanks nevertheless.

  • I like that there nametags have written on them: JESUS CHRIST

    He lives

  • Great message

    wonderful video!!

  • These young missionaries make me

feel so proud. Walk with the Lord.

  • The scriptures say that the Lord hears songs as the "prayer of the heart" I believe music truly exists in the presence of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

  • I was just thinking the message is even sweeter than the clip you've put together it captures the feeling much better than words, I love the power and spirit that can come through in music.

  • Mormons love missionaries

  • Beautiful job!

  • I went out with the missionaries the other night.

  • Awesome! The missionaries in my ward said that people soon to go on a mission should spend as much time w/ the missionaries beforehand. Helps alot.

  • If only the video portrayal was as sweet as the message.

  • "If only the video portrayal was as sweet as the message. "

good point, the sweetest of the message is beyond description.

    1 Nephi 8:11

"And it came to pass that I did go forth and partake of the fruit thereof; and I beheld that it was most sweet, above all that I ever before tasted."

  • And if the book of Mormon could stand its own ground historically and Biblically I would agree with you.

  • what specific passages in the Book of Mormon evades you?

  • MereMessenger's quote: "And if the book of Mormon could stand its own ground historically and Biblically I would agree with you."

My reply : First, you cannot use the arguement that the Book of Mormon has to stand on the Bible...that is not even an argument - it's like saying The bible has to stand on the Book of Mormon - you get it? - hope so...your logic is really out there.

Second, If it is based on history - the bible is not defined outside of itself historically.

  • MereMessenger's quote :"And if the book of Mormon could stand its own ground historically and Biblically I would agree with you."

My reply: If you want to prove it by the places (cities, etc.) mentioned in the bible being verified as actual places...hey using that logic then the Doctrine and Covenants far outstrips the bible on this ...since "ALL" of the places in the D&C are confirmed where as in the case of the bible - NOT! - and not just places...also people!!! can't do that with the bible

  • Wonderful song and video.

  • :)

    Love this song (sweet peace)...

    that is what they bring!

  • By His own mouth He has bore witness that it is true (D&C 17:6), that it contains the truth and His words (D&C 19:26), that it was translated by power from on high (D&C 20:8), that it contains the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ (D&C 20:9, D&C 42:12), that it was given by inspiration and confirmed by the ministering of angels (D&C 20:10), that it gives evidence that the holy scriptures are true (D&C 20:11), and that those who receive it in faith shall receive eternal life (D&C 20:14).

  • Great Song... reminds me sorta of a gregorian chant...
