  • I feel like I've seen this tree before, when I was really young

  • AMAZING! This is so cool!

  • kirbys adventure whispy woods

  • Wow! Incredible! I might be building a forest of talking trees for a play! And I love this but I will have to scale mine down a ton! LOL We will have to use Manual puppet no special effects like this!

  • c'est du boulot magnifique du merveilleux

  • Appreciation for animatronics was just had.

  • Is this the A-team theme song?

  • on internet but forget to see something like animatronics but look for pneumatics or electronics engine or servomotors or plc or someting like that

  • Haha... Soon as I heard the drum beats I knew the A-team song was coming on! Cool!

  • Ok that's it im getting my chainsaw lol

  • Cute beginning... Just wished that we saw the final ending with the tree actually saying something

  • Filmmakers should use animatronics like this instead of shitty CGI-effects.

  • so... quite thanks!

  • The tree looks great and the video is very enjoyable as well. You are quite talented.

  • sorry no tutorial just what you see, but there are no secret in it just watch really close the video and you can see how I did them!

  • Do you have a tutorial on how you did the eyes and eye lids? I would love to learn how you did those. Thanks.

  • fantastic work. I'm actually getting into animatronics myself, i'm hoping there might be a class or two at my engineering school i can take while i do my other classes!

  • This one looks exactly the same as the one in the dutch themepark de Efteling... Very impressedby this animatic!

  • wow!!

  • sorry for u but kids like that! I,ve made it for them!

  • Oh my thats awesome, cute tree!, I love the 1980s epic music too :D

  • One person got scared by the tree and disliked the video, LOL :p

  • when i was a kid this scared the shit out of me XD

  • troppo buono!

  • Ma... siete dei geniiii!!!!! XD XD

  • Hi sirs!

what did yah use to cut the foam?

the one you holding that looks like a

    tazer... thanks! :D

  • it's a self made toolst to sculpt the polyfoam, just 2 nails keeping a hot tungstein wirepowered by a welder to control the temperature.

  • @gommogommogommo

Nice! maybe i should make one too..

need it for sculpting a predator head out of foam.

    Thanks sir! :D

  • fantastico, es una pasada, os felicito.

    España

  • AWESOME ^_^

  • no, just do it from servo!

  • Do you have to go to school for a while to learn how to do animatronic stuff? D:

  • no school, yes study! if you want to know something let's study it, there's too much stuff on-line that you'll loose 3/4 of the time only to surf on the net, but use the less 1/4 to learn what you need!

    than Some money for rehearsal!

  • @gommogommogommo

    Thank you. (:

  • no one of them! universal concentrated colors to paint the sealer and acrylic to paint over it, if you are afraid they do not attack on it add a little of the same sealer so they will be the same material and stay there for ever!

  • sure I did!

first liquid coat darker, second less liquid coat less dark, than spatula coat brown, then acrylic paint yellow-white for lights!

more coats and more colors you use more textured becomes the tree!

  • it's a water-base acrylic sealer usually used to seal fireproof doors. I colored it and thinned whit some water for the first coat and after drying I've put it directly whit a spatula to add texture. the foam becomes harder and rubbery!

  • Was this made for 'the efteling'? it's a themepark that has a very similair one

  • This is absolutely amazing. I want to be able to do this kind of thing, I'm so jealous! congrats on a wonderful tree.

  • like the A TEAM

  • OH MY GOSH THAT IS SO AWESOME!

  • G.I.JOE!!!! epic win!!

  • @MrLinkerup A-Team, not G.I Joe! D:

  • gr8 work guys

  • COOL , May give the average Dog a surprise !

  • luvv the A-Team song and awesome job can u make me 1

    for christmas ?

  • yes but it costs much money

  • did you make the tree, or did you just upload the video?

  • no no! I've made the tree, I'm the big guy with hair!

  • @gommogommogommo how long did it take chuu 2 make it?

  • 40 days and some night

  • @gommogommogommo woooow.....well REALLY GOOD JOB!

and the song really fits in to it ;)

  • really thanks

  • @gommogommogommo yw :P

  • really thanks

  • is this made for Efteling? (The Dutch team park) they have almost the same thing! watch?v=Mjodg-6ePZI

  • no it's not! it's for an Italian traveling show called" the house of Santa"

  • great job and nice work

  • Amazing.

  • thanks

  • Wow good , i think is hard work to make that , speccialy with electronics and servos :D Cool thing ! Greeting's from Poland !

  • thank you!

the servo part of the work was the easiest cause they are ready to install,

but the elettric engine was quite hard to place and make it work correctly !

  • They should still use animotronics in films these days...now it's all over-expensive cg work...sure it looks good, but looks never make a good film...look at "The thing" one of my favourite horror films.

  • yea but animatronic do not make a film look good too, carpenter is carpenter and is a master... for special fx I think the first jurassik park is the best movie that mix cgi and animat in a fabulous way after that only budget or marketing reason !

  • That's creepy. But it reminds me of the tree from Wee Sing in Sillyville.

  • whyd u put caremal sauce on it? and is that a tazer?

  • thats all worth atleast 10.000.23 bucks

  • this is great kids and adults alike will love it check out [ the old ancient tree]

by chaddvegas to see another talking tree.

Hm hm hm, I knew it was only a matter of time. See you in hell you old bastard.

  • it's a normal foam class m1 fireproof that I find where they built sofa, so they can also cut large pieces

  • What kind of foam are you guys using and where would I be able to buy some. By the way great video, and awesome finished product.

  • Very impressive! You guys got talent. I bet this all is butt hurting expensive though

  • man that didn't seem like a 4 min video, it felt longer.

  • I LOVE IT!!! ITS BRILLAINT xD WOOO :)

  • really awesome!!!

  • Thank you very much! never thought about a DVD but if you have some question, simply ask!

  • it's uretan foam, the one they use for sofas but it's fireproof! first of all I',ve sculpted it than I sealed it using an acrilic sealant (fireproof) whit whater, so the foam drunk it a little, after a day I added another layer of the sealant but whit no whater so it was quite sclptable so I added the wood-texture!

  • awesome great video of craftsmanship :)

  • Siete pure italiani! Grandissimi! 5*!!!

  • I see you guys used Servos. Smart choice.

  • Search 'Ian Sneakpeak' to see progress on Animatronic Ian

  • That thing's sweet, good work guys!

  • About how much money did you use to make this?

  • considering only materials 6000 euros but it toke 40 days to build it in 2 people!

it's all made of class m1 fire resistant materials and it was not easy to find them, after that it's only iron foam and servo motors, but you mast consider that it takes many tools to work on it and they were very very expensive!

  • Your welcome, feel free to show more of your work

  • I have wanted to do this kind of thing since I saw Star Wars back in 1977, thanks for posting, awesome work!

  • thank you!

  • good job guys!

  • thanks! look also the zombie at "making a zombie"
