really cool i paid €300 and got the up-a1 dock for €99 (rip-off) using Bose jewel cubes canton as-50 sub just 5.1 and let me tell you it is f.....g amazing onkyo607 rocks literally

Hoping my 707 doesn't turn off again as it did during the 3 hour hook-up. Rebooted and it came back on. But it appears if you don't have really good ventilation, it might turn off. Mine is in an entertainment center with a shelf all to it's own, but it did get pretty hot when it turned off.

I gather that i-pod capability is in the back. Drat! Can't get behind the entertainment center very easily.

I have one, Something mite be wrong with it... when playing it loud it turns off even using headphones. I do got a 5 year in store warranty... It is a good receiver over all for only C$500.

Perhaps you conected one of the speakers the wrong way. I.E. the positive on the speaker to the wire with the negative end on the amp.

with low volume nothing would happen, but as you said, once you turn it up, the stereo goes off. (it happened to me a few years ago, and it was that)

@sydgerald No, it is wired right... But it does happen, Like i said it turns off even using headphones. Not all the time it turns off, I can turn it back on when it turns off. I guess you just can't turn it up for long time, long time meaning 20 to 40 mins. I get no sound from my Zone 2 RCA Output too including the speaker out zone 2. I should take it in some time.

Hi i used to have this problem. all the leads and wires at the back of your amp check none of them are touching or messed up.

@xXspartan125Xx Yeah, Thanks! Why didn't I think of that, the wire! Like I'm some idiot that don't know how to setup some speakers. It was fucking junk that TX-SR607. Short in a connection to my ass! Shouldn't of bought that fucking thing & went with what the salesmen recommended. He told me twice to go with the other one, He knew that fucking TX-SR607 was junk.

@zZZzzzSnooze2nd well mine works perfectly i have 4 subwoofers hooked up to it and all seven speakers and i can turn it up all the way (with hearing protection) and it doesn't short out or have any issues, so you obviously got a faulty unit, calm your titties.

one of the best receivers ever. no bugs. asian version has 9.2 capability and it has DPL2. DPL2x and DPL2z. does not get hot if kept in a proper ventilated area.

This is an amazing machine, I own one, the only thing I dont like is that the UP-A1 IPod dock, You can watch iPod movie on ur tv but u cant see the menu on the TV for the music.... But overall its a must have in your livingroom

This receiver has firmware bugs. It only has Audyssey 2EQ too. It sounds good for the money, but could be much better. I sold mine and bought the 807 which is even better sounding.

no with the TX-SR607 you can only either choose the "high/wide speakers" or the back surrounds. I think the the TX-SR1007 (an higher versions) has the ability to use a 9.2 speaker-setup.

No the New Onkyo NR5007 is for 9.2 channels. The 607 does not have Dolby Pro Logic 2 Z
