Also, where you live it might be illegal to have them. also, make sure it isn't a pacu. I know some people who thought they were buying piranhas and got pacus, they look a lot alike but if you know what to look for they are easy to tell apart.

i do feed her dead ones when they die, but they don't die fast enough. Actully, they are dead about half way through the feeding, so really i do always feed her dead ones. Plus, the chase is always an enjoyment.

Atleast the poor goldfish wouldnt be mutilated to death. Its bad to sufficate it, but its more humane that way. There is nothing natural about putting the gold fish in there. It has nowhere to hide and it cant get away. In the amazon atleast the fish can swim away from the piranha.
So a slow dealth is more humane than a quick one. It takes a long time to kill a goldfish by taking it out of water. I had some jump out and the fish was dry by the time i found it and it was still alive. My piranha almost always eats the entire fish within a minute or at least most of it so it is dead. Besides a fish doesnt have a central nervous system, so it won't feel much anyway.
