You know the face covering, or burkha isn't muslim. Hejab is. Face covering was with Arab women way before islam came along. Arab women had no rights then before and had to wear the veil. When islam came along... it said that you can wear only hejab, not cover your face and gave more rights to women. It was revolutionary for the time, even though they were not as much rights as today. Making fun of accents or physical appearance is funny and probably no one would be offended by it. However, attributing violent behaviour and alluding to the Quran negatively are just close to racist. A distinction must be made between what is not arabs or muslims (being a terrorist for example) and what can be attributed to us (like an accent)

You know the face covering, or burkha isn't muslim. Hejab is. Face covering was with Arab women way before islam came along. Arab women had no rights then before and had to wear the veil. When islam came along... it said that you can wear only hejab, not cover your face and gave more rights to women. It was revolutionary for the time, even though they were not as much rights as today. I think all the people posting insulting comments here are out of line. However, I also think that this kind of comedy perpetuates negative stereotypes. Making fun of accents or physical appearance is funny and probably no one would be offended by it. However, attributing violent behaviour and alluding to the Quran negatively are just close to racist. A distinction must be made between what is not arabs or muslims (being a terrorist for example) and what can be attributed to us (like an accent)
