hey man, a little tip, dont make your fingers fly all the way off the keys.... keep them hovering a lil off the keys, its a lot harder to play faster phrases if you have the habit to make your fingers go so far away from the keys. And on the end of phrases, keep the long tone long.... not a mile long. Other than that, you sound great, kid!
dont hold the notes on for as long as you are doing at the end of each phrase, its meant to be much more relaxed and calm, but other than that, sounds great :)
hmmmmmm- sounds like you ran pout of breath after the downward run- and the trills were a little forced- try to find a backing track to keep your time- saxophone players (like myself) are notorious for bad timing
keep doing it you are on the way man, remember that your heart is blowing all the time never forget it. try to keep the sound straigth and focus the strength of the embochure. aim to the heart of others
My Dad played Alto and Tenor Sax, I remember him playing this song, I used to call it the Mike Hammer Song, He died in 05 I have his C Melody Sax an Alto but he used tenor reeds on it. I can not play I just make a lot of noise with it, I play some guitar.
you play pretty well, especially since you have not been playing long- you may want to have a look at the style, you don't need to play exactly what is on the page, if you listen to the recording they add things like turns etc.
If you are having trouble with the air on the last note and you don't want it to sound strained try playing 4 measures of the f# then take a breath and play the 8th note g again on the last beat of the measure.
otherwise very good- lots of potential (vandoren>rico)
U have the same problem I have- u take ur fingers off the buttons 2high. Ive been playn 16 yrs so its 2 late for me-trust me this will efect ur speed and how cleanly your notes come out at higher speed. Other than that you seem to have the love for wut ur doing-dont loose that. Try and get in a group and play. Learning advanced theory is like learning Japanese-it's too hard to do to just sit in your house and do, as you learn more theory youll lose it if u dont use it.
I highly doubt that you just started playing sence u just played altissimo which takes a while to get use to but the A that u played was very flat with altissimo use you larnex or also known as your throat not your lips
Take it from someone who has played it solo. Boy, to have just started, you play it well! Just practice and hold your fingers closer to the pads. It'll be easier to change the notes. And that last note. You had to have been practicing on that! Took me ages. LOL
Im 15 im gonna be a sophmore i been playin since sixth grade and ur good. only think i would do is to get a more jazzy sound tighten up on those high notes and a good reed. i play with rico plasticover size 4 reeds but keep it up
cool. im plying this song in jazz band
