I served here between 1990-1993. Sadly I was there when it was closed down. 1ADSR is no more:-( I then got posted to the new 1(UK) ADSR which is based in Herford which was the old 4 Div. Met my wife in verden, many happy days spent in this great little town. I would like to go back again for old times sake, I wonder if the Sit inn bar is still there? Also Zupalus and Miro's. If anyone knows drop me a line.

Glad I found this site...I served in Verden 81-83 can any one tell me the name of the bar just outside Sheil Barracks and is it still there. Really happy times in that place whas it the "PQ"

Hi Ronnie, My dad used to be in the Royal Signals and after that he was a civil servant in the (RAOC). Well, sadly I have to tell you, that the old Shiel barracks on the Brunnenweg has been tumbled down and flatened for a VIP living area project. The old Cathness barracks on the Lindhooperstrasse has been rebuild and reorganized into a central county office, but there still are a lot of traces and signes from that good old times left over.

I enjoyed Verden a lot good little town.

Also enjoyed the fairs when they came to town down near the Kaufhalla
