The woman was prgenant at the time it happened, hence the baby had already inherited his genes from the parents at conception...so this wouldnt even count as a trai being passed from one generation to another on a genetic level
I want these tests. I was in a VERY stressfull marriage when I was pregnant with my twins. During the pregnancy I didn't know if they would survive because of the amount of emotional abuse I was dealing with. I ran for our lives six months after the twins were born. 16 years later I can see that the twins don't deal with stress very well. Hmmm...where do I get these tests?
it is like the lotto or a pronostic where you chose a very few numbers i.e. 6 out of i.e.40 and you have milions of choises. So what if you have a very big number of genes ?
Im not sure if I am right but is this documentary saying that the environment of the mother affects the baby's genetic profile? I would accept that. It would be a wise way to develop the next generation. With all the wars we have to hear about nowadays tomorrows children will be stressed out to fuck.
OH MY GOD! wait..? i dont know iof i understood right... but my oldest brother is very hmm lets say 'smart' to put it simple... my mom was studying at the time she was pregnant.... might that have sumthing to do with it?.. interesting... tho that would mean she must have been very brainless at the time she was carrying me... (haha...)
I don't really buy the famine causes epigenetic factors to raise the possiblity of getting diabetes three gens down. There wasn't really mention of a control group there. Perhaps it is just that that specific population is more prone to getting diabetes (everyone seems more prone to that these days).
I am disturbed by the bias information this part of the documentary exposes, when mentioning the 9/11 traumatized unborn children. When they are born they find abnormal cortisol levels in their saliva due to the traumatization. It is disturbing because I don't understand how the rest of the unknown pregnacy perhaps blissful before and after 9/11 is outweighted by the traumatization and thus resulting in abnormal cortisol levels in the infants saliva. Very bias and disturbing.
@serg4nyc but wouldn't 9/11 outway any blissful moments, it's like if I saw one person get killed and I was there I would be traumatised for a day or two, think of seeing a building fall down crushing hundreds or even thousands of people, don't you think that would traumatise them for a much longer period of time and the traumatisation would have stronger emotional servierness.
@serg4nyc I still don't understand how it is bias. If they are right then there would definately be abnormal stress levels in the child, and it isn't just one case, it's loads.
@serg4nyc i see what you mean but it would be 1 day of trauma for a start, it would last for about a month and it would be hurrific trauma that would easilly outway the other 269 days and who sais that the other 269 days would be blissful, someone could have died, they could have been fired, they might of had a miscarrage last time they tried for a child and it could bring back painful memories, their partner could have left them, shit happens. However I do agree with you on the bias comment.
@serg4nyc (sorry this is just a add on to the other comment) it is a very one sided documentry, but it does make a lot of sense and what evidence or arguments can people actually make against it?
1 day of trauma can equal weeks to months of stress and trauma. look at war veterans, they were effected even when they came back. if an individual is traumatised their body will generate the cortisol, this switch being flicked on for the gland to create this also seems to turn on the glands of their children. broaden your mind for fucks sake
Couldn't it just be that if you have a stressed parent then you are going to be able to pick up on that stress, not necessarily consciously, and then you will become stressed as a result?
The reason there would be higher cortisol is the mother was in late stage pregnancy on 9/11 could be because it would be fresher in her mind when the baby was born, and thus she would be more stressed than if more time had passed. Just speculating, looking at all possibilities.
@vondur6 I agree. If they wanted to test this theory they should separate the babies from the mothers and have different parents raise them..... or just find orphans with traumatized biological parents.
@vondur6 What about the grandchildren, the daughter wouldn't be suffering from any post traumatic stress directly at that time it would just be in her genum yet the grandchild still suffers from stress.
Enough with the holocaust industry. Why don't they study Palestinians? I think oppressed Palestinians will be very rich in epigenetic effects through out generation.
@medicup1987 The holocaust was committed by the Nazis against the jews. The Palestinians are being oppressed by their own leaders. Israel has, from its very beginning, tried to share the land and live side by side with the Palestinians. This is why you have arabs in the Isreali knesset (parliament) and why they have for generations attempted to make peace with the surrounding arab states even while those same states have tried to eradicate them from existence at least 5 separate times.
@geofflip The humanitarian crimes of the Jews against the Palistinians are all well documented. The Jews just finished going into Gaza and wholesale slaughtered a few thousand civilians. This has been the history of the state of Israel since its founding. To you, building ever new and larger settlements on Palestinian land must be your idea of "sharing."

Why are you so offended when I asked this simple question?
Do you really believe that people can oppress themselves? HH. Anyway even If the Palestinians are oppressing themselves. Why don't the study them?

@12345ISIS12345 I dont doubt it, but for that to be the cause of abnormal cortisol levels in the saliva of the infant, is bias and disturbing.

@12345ISIS12345 1 Day trauma = Abnormal cortisol levels? Really???
Whatabout the other 269 so or more days of the 9 month pregnacy?. Lets be realistic here I beg of you.
It is Bias dug up information to support the documentary.
