People always tell me I look at the past with rose colored glasses. But why is it that back then, music made people feel good and groovy, and music today makes people depressed and violent? Just sayin.
A happy, soulful song you could not only DANCE too but SING with as well! I miss the SOUL MUSIC of the '70's and all the fun dancing, funky moves and all. People too young to remember this stuff are missin' out.
a shame that dancing isnt around anymore bc i'd b the shit bc thats exactly how i dance...anyways i love black ppl too ive been one for all my life :)
I loved it back in the day, people just did any funky dance that came to their minds and they had a heck of a good time! They didn't care about image or any of that nonsense. I get out there and just shake it and have fun! Try it sometime and see how much fun you actually have!
@1Netbum Best dancer I ever saw in my life! I wish black people could have stuck with this talent blessed upon them. This is the deal that brings joy to people and could even be played in church. Today's music? Well it certainly cannot compare. It is hideous and could make any living thing die. But until we realize who controls the sounds and images in the USA, I'm afraid you will never see goodness promoted any longer.....
While the same poverty, racism, and social problems existed. Probably were worse in the 70s. But the dancing, clothing, and expression were more positive, upbeat, I guess you could say something cheesy like in some ways it was a more "civilized age" compared to what people sing about and the tone people use today.
Love the music then and all the brothers and sisters look so refined compared to condesceninding/disgusting rap culture of today since late 1990's; our brothers todays are mostly into gang attire and drugs; most have criminal records and STD's; due to sexual perversion encouraged by rap lyrics. No wonder why most minorities today can't even get a job due to condescending in language, health and attire; who wants to look at a butthole/crack and high school women dress like ho's.
