I'm probably one of the few people who has never owned a portable music player. But now I'm thinking of buying one. The Samsung shown in this video here looks pretty sleek. But I'm also thinking that why should there be a need to carry 2 devices when you can get an "all-in-one" device that can make phone calls as well as play music/videos. The only good device that I can think of (that does both) is the iPhone.I'm no Apple fanboy so please don't start throwing abuses at me :). Any suggestions?

but with the firmware update now it has bluetooth that coorispondes with your phone so you can make phone calls and recive phone calls using the p2 but you still have to have your phone on you this is basically if you are listing to music and you cant here you phone ring it lets you know on the screen i just got my p2 and its very simple to work it has a lot of great features and the screen has good touch sensitivity i recomend this for ppl who dont want to spend the price for a iphone

nothing like that matters, apple will lead the portable music player market for a very long time.  the ipod has become a status symbol, everyone wants it, and until these other companies decide to make an entirely new product, rather than copying apples products, they will never even pose any kind of threat to the ipod. This wont sell as well as the ipod touch for a few reasons, but the main one is because it doesnt say apple on the back

But the iPod, nor do any Apple products, support WMV/WMA which are windows formats.. You can't, for instance, get some music subscription services.. I don't know about Rhapsody, but last I checked Rhapsody ToGo only supported WMA-DRM. But my YP-T9, supports WMV/WMA-DRM, mp3, supposedly OGG-Vorbis, natively. Battery life, interface and memory capcity will be determining factors. But the P2 doesn't have 802.11b/g, that will hurt.. And 640x480 vs. 480x240..

If they drop it to 200 dollars, I'd probably buy it.. I want to see if they adopted all the great features of the T9 yet.. Like support for audio books, and such.. I wonder if it has support for skins and flash playback.. That was something missing in the T9 that never really materialized..

Yeah, it probably doesn't have the wireless connection that the iPod Touch has. The Zune also has a wireless connection.. I mean being able to connect tot he Internet via WiFi access point, which you can do with the iPod Touch I hear. If they drop the price to 200 or possibly 180, they could hurt both apple and Microsoft..

The iPod touch has WiFi I think, I don't know if its 802.11b or g.. The big thing that might kill Apple and Zune is battery life.. The T9, for instance has a long long battery life, I forget what, I think it was something like 9 hours or longer.
