It sounds reasonable. I'm thinking that even if it would a one time fee, it would still stop some in their tracks. Where you really make a point, is the fact that hating is free! It's one of the most cowardly things online!
I totally agree. Some troll/cloner/haters create a hundred new harrassing accounts in a day. Ten bucks a year seems like a good number, but even a one-time one-dollar per account fee might do it, especially since you'd be revealing your address (via CC or Paypal) in the process.
I do not post videos I usually just get on here to watch intelligent people and comedic people. It is a whole range. In the end, even as a viewer I would pay $10 a year to watch the videos (but I know that would turn some off). It allows me to relax in many different ways throughout the day. Also, just wanted to say, you are a very knowledgable person and I enjoy hearing your bits of wisdowm, can't wait for your next video.
A decent idea, mainly because YouTube might actually go for it. I think the same objective could be acheived by having a built in delay in joining. What I mean is, when you sign up, there should be a day or two before Youtube sends the confirmation email, during which time, the new user would not be able to log in and work as an account holder. Right now, it is instantaneous - sign up, email out, email back - you're all set in about two minutes.
That is a good idea too. However a delay just means they are only stopped for a day or two and then they can resume their activities. And if they keep creating accounts, they have no interruption at all.

I haven't been around in a while and from some of the nasty comments I had to delete, I see this idea still would should be considered.

I dunno. I still don't get a lot of haters. The two that have annoyed me were easy to block, but I can understand how maddening they can be...

It's the ones who keep adding new accounts that need to be stopped.
PastaBaby 4 years ago
they really do need to stop people from making fake accounts just to hate on people

Hey there, glad to hear from you. When are you coming back to the city?

We really need a way to cut down the spam.
PastaBaby 4 years ago
That is a smart idea. However, I feel it may keep some people away. The idea to be free just to view only, may attract new people..

The people who are posting will probably be willing to pay $10 for a year, the ones that are viewing can keep viewing.

Good idea.

Thanks. At this point stopping the spam would be definitely worth $10.

One dollar per account may cost more to process.

Thanks for the kind words. I wish I had more time to make videos, but I mostly watch others as well.

Great ideas. They probably have the critical mass to do this now - meaning that many many people enjoy this site enough to cough up a few dollars.

Remember the survey last year? YT hinted at this but it wasn't the time to implement it.
