When you say that a blindly profitable play is one where the spread times 2.3 is less than the total, do you mean to say greater than the total?

Also, how do you use these numbers to calculate your edge or EV?

You are correct. If SP * 2.3 > Total, play is strong.

EV... I cannot answer that one quickly.
