She still has her class 12 psionic powers. She can control the Zerg.

With current knowledge Routhe escaped to far reaches of the UED controlled space, where he supposedly died in poverty....or did he?

Duran is not only one breeding them though. In starcraft secret mission "Piercing the shroud" you'll find out that Mensgk had cloned hybrids in castanar facility, and one of them was matured. Then there is Dark archon Ulrejaz from Twilight-novel also conducted experiments with Tal'darim to create hybrids. Who was his superior is not known, he was trapped inside the crystal before he talked, and taking him captive wasn't an option: he was just too powerful.

@Mikanoes Lots of them. Dark templar-saga is divided in three books, Firstborn, shadow hunters and twilight. it was published a year before release of starcraft 2. Newest novel is the one telling about Raynor's past and his time with Tychus Findlay called "Heaven's devils", when they both were confederate marines, fighting in the guild wars against the kel-morian combine. Second part is called "Devils' due" telling about Raynor's and Findlay's life as outlaws. About to be published in 2011.

If it started with the zerg it wouldn't have been adding any story, since all they did is wake up again and strike the surrounding planets... It's perfect in my opinion.
