@17thknight thank for the comment, I think FF has dropped the Wings of War franchise, however it will be picked up by another company under the name Wings of Glory. You can still pick up the Wings of war series at a reasonable cost while they last, the Wings of Glory will be slightly different but it will still be compatible with the Wings of War series.
@crisilmago The Career Cards I made myself, check out Wings of War Aerodrome ( I can't put the lick here so you will have to Google it) Check out thier download section, they have campaign rules as well, they also have a ton more downloadable content that will increase the depth of the game.
@whyteay Plays just fine without the miniatures and I would reccomend playing without them first to see if you like the game that if it is something that you can see yourself playing a fair bit .... pick up a miniature or two... or better yet pick up the DELUXE set that comes with 4 minis for a few extra bucks
@skywatcher7 Thanks for the comment, I think it ia a great game, I also like the WW2 version but I haven't bought it as I didn't feel I needed two games of the same type in my gaming library
@ORCA4312 Thanks for the comment, I haven't played the WW2 version, though I have read quite a bit about it. I started with the WW1 and i t fills a niche in my game collection, from what I have read the WW2 version is a bit more fiddly, and at this time there is more available for the WW1 version. I have since picked up the Burning Drachens and I plan to start collecting more of the miniatures, including the balloons
@thumper7458 As anewcomer to the game I loved your video ! Very helpful and informative ! Do you or anyone else out there know where I can get one of the Red Baron Tri-plane shown in your video from series 1 ? I've looked everywhere and cannot find one. Any help would be appreciated
@moirproductions Well, by "packs" I assume you are talking about the game box or expansion boxes and by "Planes" I assume you are talking about the "Plane Cards" and not the "Plane Miniatures". In the standard game Famous aces (not Deluxe) you 12 or so "Plane cards" but no Miniatures, Originally the game was played with just the cards, The Deluxe version comes with 4 Miniature planes and their corresponding cards, the Deluxe is reccomended if you're starting out but not necessary
thx for that and your quick response. I know the guys at WWA are looking forward to more WoW content on Youtube. keep up the great work. any chance you could do some maneuver deck reviews. eg tactics, card combos etc might help the newbies get to grips with the planes.
What is WWA? I don't take this game seriously as I enjoy playing with my kids and have never entered a tourney, I can explain some of the cards if you would like, tactica is difficult as the maneuvers that you choose depend heavily in the situation that you are in and the objective of a particular game I.E recon, straffing, rescue, bombing run or ballon busting..... either way as there is more interest in this game than I thought, I will see what I can come up with
1] it was a Sopwith camel used? As a Sopwith Snipe was mentioned. This could confuse some newbies.
2] suffering an engine damage you have to play a stall does it have to be played at the beginning of the turn? as I was going by the following: "The plane must play at least one stall maneuver each turn up to the end of the game." from the Mini rule book.
1) The card I showed as an example at 2:00 was a Sopwith Camel, the miniature I played with was a Sopwith Snipe
2) The stall can be played in anyone of the 3 phases, keep in mind that you cannot play 2 stalls back to back, therefore you cannot make a stall the first maneuver of your turn if it was the last maneuver of your previous turn, that's what the maneuver chits (1:47) are for.You place the chit that corresponds to the last maneuver played on the control card
Great video, man! I've been wondering about getting Wings of War, I really love Fantasy Flight Games, and your video sold me on it. Thanks!
