I don't think Lytle won that fight against Serra. Agressiveness is one of the main scoring dimensions, and if someone was aggressive in that fight it was Serra.

I do think, however, that the match was a draw, and should've gone to a 4th, sudden victory, round.

Chris did not beat Matt. Matt pushed the fight, attempted take-downs. Chris defended. Neither did much of anything. Serra worked some foot stomps, and tried to take him down. Serra deserved the win but it was very close.

The ufc bases its scoring on these 4 things: effective striking, grappling, aggression and Octagon control.

Nobody really had grappling well done since lytle and matt both got a single take down. But look at the other 2, agression wise, Matt was always the guy going forward, octagon control as well, he was the guy always pushing Lytle up against the fence. If lytle was far superior in effective striking maybe it woulda gone to another round but he was only a bit better.

Standing up it was a bore, but in the clinch Serra's body and his right eye were glowing red. Serra only got one good shot in and that was the spinning backfist. Lytle got several good punches in, espically in round 2 where he faked the bodyshot and got Serra across the jaw. This is the UFC's greatest flaw, bad officiating, bad referee decisions, and a fairly average (below-average even) talent pool.
