  • My music history professor in the university I attended told me that stirrup was invented by Europeans. Then again, she had a British accent, crediting Europeans for that kind of invention. Thanks to whoever upload this video.

  • I'm still waiting for my eggrolls and fried rice.

  • @willb123100 Stop taking your wife to the motel and film her get gang bang by black guys, and maybe you might get some fried rice !......You jealous ass fucking typical cracker bitch !

  • focker

  • part 1 is missing!

  • China accomplished many things, but it is absurd to say the fact that China created a repeating crossbow means that China invented the M16a. It cannot even be claimed that the repeating crossbow led to the invention of modern firearms, as their developments were completely unrelated. I love history channel, but leaps like these are very disappointing. Ancient chinese crossbow technology is extremely impressive on its own merits, briliant even, and dishonest window dressing cheapens it.

  • well if you notice many modern weapons and ideas are all improvements of ancient ideas and weapons. so its kind of like a blueprint for modern weapon like that. Its like the ancient weapon is the grandparent of the grandparent of the grandparent of todays weapon.

  • The repeating crossbow aka Zhuge Nu, I think was invented by Zhuge Liang, brilliant military strategist from around 200 AD. It was mostly used for covering fire against the enemy.

  • Where's part 1?

  • that's ignorant. have you ever heard of the opium wars?

  • this is fuckan shit, how can you compare a m240 to crossbow. they share no common technologies with each other that would have directly or indirectly influenced the m240. change the fuckan title of the video u dumbass.

  • if you lived in the world with no weapons, except for the sword, how on earth can you thought of making an M240? first thing you can do is to make a crossbow. your vision is to invent a projectile that is launched to attack an enemy or for hunting. either you can throw the spear, or make a bow. with these inventions, the idea of projectile weapons was born. and later when you invent the gunpowder, you can start making rifles and cannons, cause you already know the idea of projectile weapons.

  • powerinvader, i totally agree with you. As chinese myself, i think most chinese people have this problem of thinking they are the greatest people in the world, they always thought whatever we have today, more or less chinese ancestors invented the prototypes. If a shame...cuz instead of keep on finding the wonders of history, the chinese should focus on modern-day technologies, of which most are originated from western world.

  • you are such a ignorant bastard i feel sad for you. i could tell you right now that many western universities agree that the chinese invented many things that we have today. are you going against all these people who are probably smarter than you. and i highly doubt you are chinese. go learn some history before you speak i could give you a list of sources regarding chinese ingenuity. all you have is your stupid opinion with no credibility

  • you probably think that i am one of those brainwashed people, but i can tell you that my nationalism doesnt blind me from being rational. when did i ever say that china is a good place to live. i am a nationalist who is for the people. i hate the government and communism because it is destroy china's very identity. however, in terms of science and technology china did invent many things. you can not deny that. it is a shame of you not to be proud of it now. now who is not being rational, youorme

  • PeacockStone, and can you tell me where modern technology originated from? where does the idea got its basis from? out of thin air?

  • it's good for close combat, does'nt look like very good at overwhelming someone!

  • I didn't know that...

  • What have the Romans ever done for us..?

  • why, subjugate and obliterate us... for our own good, of course. thank rome and thank america for all your freedoms and prosperity. go on... thank them, slave.

  • The Chinese was also the original inheritance of the Industrial Age, centuries before the British.

  • sorry... correction... i believe it was much much longer.

  • @MrGarysun Ironic, considering that it led to their own destruction. Of course, China was a self-sufficient country while Europe was lacking in resources and deep cultural heritage.

  • lol. go away. stop commenting this propogandistic retardism before i block you.

  • Prove me wrong.

  • i'm the one who posted the vid. i don't have to prove shit.

  • then i dont have to listen to you.

    Words without proof weighs nothing.

  • the chinese invented the gunpowder and advanced crossbow technology, putting together are the foundation technology for modern machine guns to be invented.

  • No.

Machine guns were based on a completely different principle as Repeating Crossbows, and sure. Gun powder.

But is a wheel the founder of a car?

  • invention comes in stages and this does not only apply to something small, cannons? and yes even wheels had been part of the evolutionary stage of inventions too.
