mine does the same thing, to the guy that said its the pump your the fucking moron! if you knew wtf you were talking about instead of assume hundreds of thousands of people were stupid, maybe you'd be able to help us
Happens to my wife's '06 every time we fill up, unless we stop it early. We have been to the dealer and they told us it was part of the evap system that had colapsed. needed to replace fuel tank because they couldn't get the lines off. over $700 so told them to pound sand. now going to another dealer to see if they will do something.
I have a 2006 Limited Durango that does the same thing. I took it to the dealership and they said there were no known issues with gas spilling out. Now I have rust on the quarter panel from all the overflows. Next call is to the CEO of Dodge.
I found a possible fix that is both easy to repair and free. I can't post links here, but head over to gotdetailing . com without the spaces and check out the article about this issue.
Get real, it happens at ANY pump we fill up at, in Florida or Texas, it is the vehicle and a well known problem. Chrysler is fixing mine already, good luck idiot....
@Superior Chrysler- YOU get real, over 320 owners have made formal complaints to the NHTSA over this, don't deny it because you work there. It was a 2005 Durango recall in 2009, and now the 2006 Does the same thing. FUEL PUMP! You sound like my local Dodge dealer telling me it was a rubber hose that returns from the tank as a breather tube, only there is no such thing on this vehicle. Anyone who this happens to report it imediately to NHTSA and customerassist@chrysler.com.
@abldo19996 You bloody morons, the gas pump is at fault - it has nothing to do with the cars. Why are there so many stupid people in the world ? There are so many complaints because there are so many jackasses driving these days !
It started happening to my wife's Durango recently, no matter what gas stations we used. There are two recalls for this exact same problem, but Dodge didn't include our vehicle in either recall. Also, there are other videos online, and it isn't only Durangos with the problem- check the videos posted by RedOgre11, dtrebacz, ChicagoRod, stgoldman13, and VarsityPixels.
After a couple of calls, Dodge has agreed to replace my tank at no charge.
The "Chrysler" in your handle says enough, and I think it's been explained that only a large percentage of them do this, not all of them. Your little anecdotal evidence is completely irrelevant.
How would the pump make it leak from under the wheel well anyway?
I have a 2007 Durango that does the same darn thing. Never again will I buy Dodge/Chrysler.

Google it, see how many are out there. Happens on every fill up, not just at this station, but all stations. Do you work for Dodge or Chrysler?

I have one of these and that has never happened, I sounds like a problem with the pump not the car. Let's get serious here.
