I've just let ABC know how I (one more hard-working, intelligent, caring, nonalcoholic, never drug-addicted lesbian) feels about Brooke Smith's dismissal. Finally, ABC depicted a TRUE gay woman, with the help of the very best acting I've seen in a while by Brooke, and it's gone. The chemistry between her and Callie I've never seen before in ANY love story which says everything for the two actresses. How sad, ABC, that you could've presented us as we are and given the world some glasses too!
Thanks for contributing the video. I'm glad there are others who appreciate Brooke's nuanced acting and the depth that she brings to any character she portrays. I think ABC made a big mistake with the move to dismiss Brooke Smith, and I'm confused greatly by those who say "I'm happy she's gone." I had a sense this was going to happen ever since seeing the promo for 5x07 because a picture was painted in my head of where the story's going. I bet Erica's going to figure out that everyone at Seattle Grace knew Izzy stole the heart meant for her patient in Season 2 and no one told her, and she will feel betrayed by everyone, including Callie...and it will be over.
Brooke, my emotions used to be split between Erica and Callie...then you made me fall in love with Erica by simply portraying the full depth of her character, and turning up the heat as she discovered more of herself each episode.
