  • LOL...grenade launcher, whatever

  • nice job man and thanks for the Vid

  • is the frame forged or cast steel?

  • Which is better for a newb? S&W 1911 or Kimber 1911?

  • We can put a man on the moon, yet still we fail to invent a reliable coffee maker attachment for the 1911. 21st century my foot!

  • I just recently purchased a E series on Dec.17th as a divorce anniversary present to myself and the solid extractor pin, on my 1911 at least, has been updated to a roll pin. It also appears to have a bit of red lock-tite on it. I took it to the range, eager to monitor it as reccomended by your review, and no movement of the extractor pin at all. It looks like, at least for ine anyway, that S&W may have remedied the problem fro the factory. My 1911 was manufactured 12/11/11 Thanks for your review

  • haha, i would love to see a grenade launcher strapped to the 1911... ha nice video buddy

  • Thanks for the review. I think this will be my next 1911

  • Good review. Extremely informative, even if I don't usually shoot 1911s.

  • Wow that looks great

  • wow, now this is a review!

  • Good straight forward review. Thanks!

  • Excellent review...very straightforward and honest...I'm subscribing

  • Super review man, VERY well done.

  • i mean "the finger is off the trigger."

  • Memory groves on the frame above the trigger stretching a bit forward for the for left thumb and when the trigger is off the trigger.

  • We want to clear the chamber without having the safety off.

  • Great review. I'm vascillating between this and the mor eexpensive Ed Brown Kobra Carry. This one seems to function as well and is very sexy.

  • Reasonable outlook on this pistol, as always, Andy. Unfortunately, I have lost all enthusiasm for S&W 1911s. I own one of the Gunsite Sc Commanders, and it broke the mag catch lock after 200 rounds, then the plunger tube legs sheared clean off within the next 200 rounds. Both MIM small parts failures that were game-enders for the pistol. Is it a "bad batch" of MIM, or is it that long, small parts have no business using MIM technology? I believe in the latter. My next vid will focus therein...

  • Pistol has a lot of cosmetic features found on $3000 custom built 1911's.

One other problem that I have consistently found on all of my S&W 1911's and I have three - is the safety. S&W is notorious for a (lack of a better description) "weak click" safety, it sort of just slides mushy into place. Not a strong CLICK into place like my Sigs or Colts. Maybe it's a problem with their plunger tubes not sure.

  • Have you shot FNH FNP-45? Not a 1911 but the pistol recoils like a 9mm. Give it a try you'll end up buying one plus it holds 14 rounds. Great review.

  • The reason for the stiffer recoil is the scandium frame. It's allot lighter, giving it more recoil.

  • @commieforniatactical That would make sense...if this pistol did not have a STEEL frame.

  • @VuurwapenBlog

Any difference after some breaking in?

  • You do a fantastic review! Love the amount of detail and critical observation instead of speculation.

  • Well Done. Concise, well photographed, no stupidity. Thanks!

  • This is subworthy, sir.

  • subbed

  • Finally a good review in a technical format.

    Good job , I subscribed.

  • so does that go for "ALL" S&W 1911 guns. meaning the little small pin that go down south.. what about the 1911PD will this involved the same situation? my choice of choosing the E series 1911TA or the 1911PD both tactical.. usage for ALL sorts of plays. witch will be the better choice.

  • subbed, great review.

  • like your stuff/the malfunction described sounds like a ammo issue even in quality stuff mass production will push out a short load i shoot a reload out in no.cal. [yes in cal.]called load-x they are really a great company reliable as factory stock stuff. fmj, jhp,no crazy pressures shoot in all my stuff glocks included.i'm no expert but i was a 45B20 a armorer long ago in the army,i shoot a few 1000 rds a yr.the pin might be solved with a compression pin with a similar pin inside it.

  • FANTASTIC REVIEW.......... I have been waiting for a good review on this exact model for a long time. I have been eagerly waiting to make the right choice for my first 1911. This was a going to be my first choice but i feel that now i should go with the springfield. A person should never spend over 1000 bucks on a hand gun and later find themselves running into problems..... that's what a 21st century gun is in my opinion..... "flawless"

  • wondering how the low end e series compare to the ruger 1911

  • Can u do a review on the Ruger SR1911? & comparisons with other 1911's... Thanks!

  • please keep in mind that hilton yams review was of a pistol that was never supposed to be sold. it was supposed to be a display model

  • Sorry but it seems the Kimber had way more recoil than the E Series. Am I wrong? Beautiful gun though. Will get one soon!

  • dam thats one sexy 1911

  • So given the choice, both guns having front strap checkering, rails, etc. Would you prefer an E Series or a TLE RL 2?

  • @SuperR3volver E series every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

  • Excellent review. The pin is an issue but S&W has some of the best customer service in the industry. They will fix it.

  • You think a 1200$ should have a problems like that? I think even a 500$ SA doesn't have problems like that. We shouldn't settle for that when we know some might buy the pistol with the intention of using it to defend their life.

  • @esh325 No, it shouldn't. And I'm told that they're fixing it. I think it'll be a simple fix for a company like S&W. And after that, what is there to complain about the pistol? Not much. So that's why I like it.

  • I had really hoped that S&W would release a 1911 with the same fish scale serrations I've gotten used to on my M&P, really excited to see this review from you to know that they finally did it-

  • Very good video.

  • Wow that looks nice. Quick check and it looks like 1300 list and potentially available retail for 1000-1100 before fees/tax/shipping. A grand is nothing to scoff at but compared to the Kimbers I have perused, it is a lot for the money.

  • Great Review.

  • rail for grenade launcher. *rimshot*

  • gooood shit!

  • Nice job.

  • An education and quickly to the point. I am glad to be a witness to your reviews.

  • Great review, I like that pistol. Hilton Yam also recommended changing all of the springs on the E Series.

  • 6 views and 6 comments.... Nice

  • i love your vids, very organized and to the point

  • Looks great! Good review as well

  • Damn...another A+ review from you. You have quickly become my goto video reference.

As far as the extractor pin goes...I'd like to see it very slightly tapered so that this problem might possibly go away. It's a slight inconvenience and after market extractors might be funneled down to the manufacturer. But it's an idea that might work.

  • Can you provide a link to the Hilton Yam review?

  • wow, beautiful weapon. Interesting the felt recoil is more.
