played this game for free on ps3 and it is the most simple game in the world. Its obvious where and when you need to play the cards, all you need to do is wait for the luck of the draw. I remember playing yugioh was better than this because thinking about wot you do can actually change the game rather than just follow the motions.

yes i believe this game requires as much thought as a two year old playing with action men.

sorry for the rant but the game just wasted two hours of my life

@iamclever1 Hahaha, not true at all. Magic the Gathering requires strategy, although luck comes into it. The PS3 and X-box versions are shit, because you can't custom-build decks.

The strategy comes from making your own deck and knowing it. It's being able to win even with a bad hand.

@TheRealBarnez Actually, in the 2012 edition of those games, you do have the possibility of custom deckbuilding. What he played was probably only the demo, which offers a step by step tutorial as the only play option.

its a lot of fun. id recomend for starters either a blue or green. but u can get beginner decks for all colors as they vary in skill level. u can play this online too u know...

@colin70000 Lol. You're recommending a blue deck to beginners? Blue is horrible unless you have an imagination, and can build a deck around one good card. (Sphinx ambassador for example).

Red or white. I started with the white 8th edition core set white deck.

@thatparkourdude Blue is defensive/deck destroying. It's good to mix it with other colors. You'll need a lot of blue cards to make a successful deck.

The thing I hate is the new borders. In the old style I felt like I was a wizard looking through my spell book, with the new style I feel like I'm looking at a computer screen. That and now all the new stuff is way overly broken.

Omg! You obv haven't played competitive magic recently, nub. These last few blocks have been the best designed in magic history. Nothing is broken, nor has anything been broken since Mirrodin (with the possible exception of jitte). For broken things you're better off looking in older sets.

Also, I like the new borders better. :P

First of, I'm certainly not a Newbie. I've been playing since 92 guy, that makes me old school. And I haven't really paid attention to the new stuff regardless of how good or bad it it.
