  • morons will be morons

  • It's a little backwards. He should position the lawn mower to descend the hill backwards, using the rope to keep the drive wheels just off the ground. Then at the bottom, relax the rope so the drive wheels bite and drive it back up the hill.

  • Dang Hill billies ;)

  • Nothing wrong with this! I've done banks like this for years. It's certainly safe, as the mower can never run you over if it gets away, and you can slip and fall because you are standing on level ground at the top. It just takes a little strength to reel the lawn mower back up the hill after every pass.

  • We did this for years along US route 30 in pennsylvania. I never thought much about it when I was a kid, but I'll bet that the cars driving by at the bottom of the bank didn't think that highly of someone doing it. We just used yellow nylon rope if I recall correctly, and a lawn boy mower.

That was before you had to hold something on the handle together to keep the mower running.

  • dont know what the big deal is. Done this many..MANY..a time in my youth cutting lawns. We just didnt have people around filming EVERY DAMN THING

  • This is why I make almost 7 figures per year ... defending companies against stupid shit like this when it goes wrong for the operator.

  • if it were self propelled 1 person at top another at the bottom turn it around then send it back might neet weights for traction going up but would be a whole less dangerous

  • I think thats one reason they make self propelled lawn mowers and riders

  • I think that one reason they make self propelled lawn mowers and riders

  • what about just putting the rope low and on both sdes of the handle? the pull would be even and it should be fairly stable keeping the front mostly down. No weights needed i think.

  • HAHAH thats my UNCLE {{ DAD }} he would be rollin if he was still here to watch this.!! R.I.P JOHN II LOVE && MISS yuh.<3 OH && to whoever said he was ""A LAZY REDNECK" this man was far from LAZY.!! he jus got a kick out of makin everybody laugh.!!

  • Now if you had a remote control, you'd be all set!

  • Future Darwin Award winner

  • put some sort of weight on the front then it wont tip so much

  • I would just plant some nice looking short growing ground cover kind of plant. And forget about mowing it.

  • yobbos -_-

  • I've done this before. Some banks are really hard to mow. And dangerous. This works great. But I put two bricks on the front of my mower. Helped a lot :-)

  • i have a real steep hill at work and i use a hover mower and rope. its the best way

  • What a stupid lazy redneck. and u mow going horizontal on a hill so u dont lose your toes. if u can figure out what horizontal means.

  • redneck..................

  • How is this smart????

  • LOL~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • R.I.P. John Engle

  • My brother use to cut my grandmothers lawn the same way because of her hill. One day wearing sandals while cutting and pulling the mower up the hill lost his footing and his left foot slipped and went into the back of the mower. He now only has 2 toes on his left foot. BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!

  • get a reel mower

  • This has helped me immensely!!! What a great idea.

  • Actually this guy is very smart and not lazy at all. If he decides to move with the mower up and down in a hil or slope is dangerous and you can damage your back or have any other accident. I think I will try this method in my slopes.

  • I dread to think how he gets his hair cut.

  • he doesn't get his hair cut lol

  • Can't you just cut along the slope, instead of up and down? That's the way I've always done it.

  • nope not that yard it doesn't look that steep till you walk up it if you try to go side to side the mower gets excess oil to the piston and smokes real bad like any mower would and it will tip over that hill is about a 50 or 65 degree slope

  • Thats not the lazy way, its the right way....and safest. But you need to tie the rope lower....weld a crossbar if needed. Oh, and get a longer rope.......

  • @nightman45002 Good job with that! Not being smart but if you tie the rope lower it could mow coming back up the hill.

  • @wally53511 My brothers always used ropes when they mowed steep hills. That said, my mower's manual says that it isn't supposed to be operated on slopes greater than 15 degrees;)

  • jons crazy man lol!!!

  • that thing sounds like it has rocks in the crankcase. how long after the video did it throw the rod?

  • na it still runs you just hearing the rocks an sticks in the yard that it was hittin the mower runs great

  • very smart way of mowing the grass

  • he retarded man really if you was there you would have been rolling around laughin he cuts it like that once a week

  • lmao

  • i think he should win the hillbilly grass cutter of the week award LOL

  • Hell yeah he should. I mow my yard with goats and hourses. i need a mower or weed eater.
