  • I'm playing it right now with one of my friends and I hope we'll make it till the 20th of May, becouse it's the concert we'll be playing it on. But thank you very much, you've been an outstanding inspiration!!! :)

  • really beatiful, i´m going to play this with my friend... but I know We´ll never play as nice as you :)

    Good job ;)

  • Very interesting! But I have a score which has an extra bar. After the ff trill towards the end of the piece there is a D major chord marked mp, and this chord is repeated before the final phrase pp.

  • I know. We consciously decided not to play the second chord because of the following reason: The piece is orchestrally composed. The highest note should be held when playing the second chord. Imagine, this could be a flute or something. And while the flute holds the tone the orchestra plays an accompanying chord. Unfortuanetely on the piano the tone fades away very fast. And there could be the impression that the main melody jumps to the highest note of the second chord which wouldn't be nice.

  • Well, thank you so much for your response! Actually, I was of the impression Dvorak composed the legends for piano 4 hands before he orchestrated them! Maybe it's habit, but I do like the repeated chord! The fact that the second chord is mp makes it like an echo! Interesting discussion. By the way, I love your interpretation!

  • Thank you! I am glad that you like it. I don't know if he orchestrated it but it seems to have a structure which would be also fitting for orchestra because there are many voices and the piece is quite complex.

  • @Klangzauberer

I wish you would record the second legend. I'm working on it, and it's wonderful! Nostalgic, haunting melodies... somehow reminiscent of Rachmaninov...

  • ein genie

  • Prima gespielt!

  • very good the pianist on the right especially for the interpretation!

  • well done! i'm doing some legends with my piano teacher!

  • excellent performance. *****
