  • If we thought this was truly to educate the students, that would be one thing, but the students were there as props. The citizens of Michigan cannot afford to pay any more in taxes. The problem with the schools is not that they are underfunded, but that they don't wisely use the resources they are provided. MI teachers are the 7th highest paid in the nation, and the MEA is still demanding more money, money that would be better used in the classroom.

  • I don't think your argument is done very well here. What better way to teach students about the government and how to become active in change, which is apparently what you are talking about in your makelansinglisten website, than to have students be a part of the process. I am certainly against higher taxes in Michigan, but our schools are grossly underfunded and we cannot continue to take money away from the students, which is ultimately the people who suffer.
