I should probably clarify... Stay away from provera aka medroxyprogesterone as a progesterone, as it's metabolized into testosterone. Dydrogesterone is less effective, but safer for transgendered people to take.

Actually, the horses are in Canada, not America. Also, Premarin does not contain oestrogen, just a similar the horse equivilent of it which is only mildly compatible with humans. That being said, premarin isn't even effective, so I don't know why they bother even making it, let alone prescribing it.

I researched and when I found out what it was..I WAS MORTIFIED. I'm an animal activist! I work with a dog rescue! How could this happen? I would have researched the drug first but my surgery was sudden and I was very sick. :( Anyway, my surgical menopause symptoms are severe, I'm now on something made from soy and yams. :(

The Red Cross informed me that Premarin was horse pee. It made me sick. My doctor would not believe me when I told him what Premarin was until he read up on it. He no longer prescribed Premarin to his patients.

You have a good heart and I'm glad you want to help stop animal abuse but I would just like to add here that we don't need horse meat or urine. Horse meat is often used in dog food. In europe and such I have heard people do consume this type of meat but it isn't even legal in the united states AND people don't need it to live healthy happy lives. Although i have stopped taking premarin it will not stop the pain and suffering of many more mare's. Until more women are aware of this horrible secret it will continue.
if people focused their diet on natural things to begin with, focusing on holistic eating and, YES it CAN be tasty . . . we might not have as great a need for HRT. And also this hormone can be obtained from non-animal sources . . . so the suffering is needless.

I would like to adopt a PMU mare, because they tend to be large and stocky, the way I like them! I checked out a few sites for adoption and the fees were simply way too high, then add shipping costs and it's not possible for me. I can adopt and save five Thoroughbreds (ex-racers) for the same amount! I can afford to care for her properly and have a nice warm barn ready for her, but can't afford the initial costs involved. It's depressing.

Although i have stopped taking premarin it will not stop the pain and suffering of many more mare's. Until more women are aware of this horrible secret it will continue.

if people focused their diet on natural things to begin with, focusing on holistic eating and, YES it CAN be tasty . . . we might not have as great a need for HRT. And also this hormone can be obtained from non-animal sources . . . so the suffering is needless.

animals go through a lot of pain and suffering . . . but nothing compares to the suffering of a mother when her baby is taken away. Make no mistake . . . they fight tooth and nail with everything they have to keep their babies . . . their anguished cries are the saddest things you will ever hear, for hours after their foal is taken from them.

I would like to adopt a PMU mare, because they tend to be large and stocky, the way I like them! I checked out a few sites for adoption and the fees were simply way too high, then add shipping costs and it's not possible for me. I can adopt and save five Thoroughbreds (ex-racers) for the same amount! I can afford to care for her properly and have a nice warm barn ready for her, but can't afford the initial costs involved. It's depressing.

This video..... just, well, i cant describe how sad it makes me. Personally, i think that the people who do this to these poor mamas and babies have to be mentally unstable. This is abuse and murder all at once, and im glad that there are people like you Rosieposie who have the courage to inform people of just what this drug really is, and how it is created. I take HRT, but I do NOT take Premarin. It isnt right to treat any life the way these horses are treated. I had no idea. I wish there was a way to stop this cruelty. The people who do this have no heart at all. I wish I could do something to stop this.

Please let us know what groups are lobbying this insaneness. There are lots of us here that would like to help.... but dont know what we can do.. Other than refusing to take the drug, WHAT CAN WE DO ?

i sure hope these people have to give up that place in hell to make room for child molestors and murderers... there are so many things in this world worse than horse slaughter. AND this video is hopelessly out dated. PMU farms today are not like the video describes.

Its not about being outdated,these pictures taken this year from animal welfare, its here to make a point...Murder, pain and abuse are the same for all living things...And all these farms are like this....and all slaughter is unexceptable....all suffers and feels and pain...animal or human...

as if hell has limited positions? It seems quite sad to me that us animal advocates are considered anti-human . . . how can we care for animals and NOT humans? Ummm... I'm sorry but my compassion is not limited to one species. And you insinuating anything but that makes no logical sense. It makes me ask the question . . . who is the man, and who is the beast? As long as we harm animals, we will continue to harm humans.

I think less women would need hormones if they were given the correct information before they were tricked into having a hysterectomy. It is legal for predator doctors to give women false information about hysterectomy. If we all sign the petition at hersfoundation, and watch the free video "Female Anatomy" on the site. It will bring the biggest best kept secret in the medical industry "hysterectomy" to a crashing end.

I did have two horses so I know what you mean thay are loving and caring and that all thay want back in return I will be one of those people protesting the abuse of horses . My two cousins have horses and every chace I get I`m there petting them and giving them lovens . I just love them so much that then it`s there time to go to heaven it will hert was bad as when my two passed away.

Horses are so wonderful,i was lucky to have had a horse, i just loved him to bits, he was very cheeky, he got colic and i had to have him put to sleep by the vet, i cried for months, he will never be forgotten, he was very precious. How can so many people sell their horses to markets for meat.. sickening. I so glad you will be protesting, the more of us the better.. enjoy your riding.sounds great.

Your right, its just sickening. All the human race care about is greed. Anyone who has been lucky enough to have a horse of their own, knows what wonderful animals they are. Hopefully these abusers will go to hell, and stay there, and hopefully so many people will protest about the unforgivable way these horses are treated, that the horse will be freed forever.. Please God.
