I was lucky enough to see Julia Clifford play, one unforgettable night around 1980, at Fulham Broadway. it's wonderful to see and hear her playing here with her brother. The others are fine, too, but it's Dennis and Julia at the heart of things here.
This tune always reminds me of the first Irish Fiddle LP I ever bought "The Liffey Banks" by Tommy Potts. It had a note (by Seamus Ennis I think) "Gabhtar fonn le fonn is gabhtar fonn le mífhonn" This is definitely one of the "fonn le fonn" i.e. "a tune played when In the mood" Great playing. *****
This video has it all - the 60's frock with lace ruff down the front, the aran cardies, the woman with wing spectacles, the tapping shoes,a few good looking men, the just perching yourself on the side of something and making music, and people enjoying it.
Julia Clifford spent many holidays with my family here in London!I was lucky enough to play with her on many an ocasion!

Terrific music, and is it just me or does the young Paddy Moloney not bear a striking resemblance to the actor Woody Harrelson?

@Lisnageeragh I don't know about that but the fiddler Tommy Potts did a great recording of The Liffey Banks which is available on CD.

More importantly it shows legendary Sliabh Luacra fiddlers Julia Clifford and Denis Murphy with Chieftain Moloney.
