  • Julia Clifford spent many holidays with my family here in London!I was lucky enough to play with her on many an ocasion!

  • I was lucky enough to see Julia Clifford play, one unforgettable night around 1980, at Fulham Broadway. it's wonderful to see and hear her playing here with her brother. The others are fine, too, but it's Dennis and Julia at the heart of things here.

  • Great stuff!!!

  • Terrific music, and is it just me or does the young Paddy Moloney not bear a striking resemblance to the actor Woody Harrelson?

  • That's just you!

  • @nyu6697 Did Coleman record The Liffey Banks?

  • @Lisnageeragh I don't know about that but the fiddler Tommy Potts did a great recording of The Liffey Banks which is available on CD.

  • @UISTMAN59 Heard of the Potts recording ...thanks for info L

  • @pantsmatants more like woody woodpecker lol but he is a great musican

  • Another 'belter' from clarebannerman!!

  • This tune always reminds me of the first Irish Fiddle LP I ever bought "The Liffey Banks" by Tommy Potts. It had a note (by Seamus Ennis I think) "Gabhtar fonn le fonn is gabhtar fonn le mífhonn" This is definitely one of the "fonn le fonn" i.e. "a tune played when In the mood" Great playing. *****

    fantastic.

  • CB

Can you string a few of these little gems together for us and put them into our St Patricks Day Festival. Thanks

  • You have discovered a rich archive there CB.

This video has it all - the 60's frock with lace ruff down the front, the aran cardies, the woman with wing spectacles, the tapping shoes,a few good looking men, the just perching yourself on the side of something and making music, and people enjoying it.

Thanks, fine girl you are, whoa :)

  • More importantly it shows legendary Sliabh Luacra fiddlers Julia Clifford and Denis Murphy with Chieftain Moloney.

  • You are absolutely right there.

Thank you for reminding us of that.

  • My goodnesss how I do look forward to your posts!!

  • Brilliant tune. Thanks for posting this.
