  • 3 greatest vocals;DIO,OZZY AND ROB,BUT SORRY DIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.NU POT SA CONTINUI IN ENGLEZA .FIECARE ARE LOCUL LUI IN HEAVY METAL.DAR DIO.....SA NU GLUMIM NUMBER ONE.RIP.DIO

  • Much respect to Dio,one of the greatest singers ever born.

But i would pick Rob over anyone easily ;)

Its all the matter of oppinions :)

    Rock on

  • Halford rules!! Dio rules!! Ozzy is a clown. The only people who are suckered into the myth of Ozzy being any good is the mass media sheep. "ozzy is good" regurgitate and repeat. he is a reality star

  • @purplegrant, yeah, your probably right too, damn sharon!

  • rob and dio are great. but to call ozzy a clown is crazy . old sabbath is god damn the best .

  • @saugusg16 Your right, but sabbath did good with tony martin and especially ian gillan, they should have used one of them

  • @jimmyd2995 They did try to Get Tony Martin to fill in at these shows, but there was a problem with visas and getting him over there (Probably exacerbated by Sharon Osbourne). That's when Rob Halford stepped in.

  • @jimmyd2995 His voice was too different for Sabbath But, they we're in a jam, so I respect Halford for stepping in and helping out.

  • maybe its a bad recording but it sounds horrible

  • My god this is the best song by Rob in this Jam with sabbath...but people cant be serious saying is better than dio listen to any dio singing this song Rob sounds like a joke comparing

  • This song suits Halford as he is used to singing about computers, robots in Judas Priest too!

  • with Priest calling it quits and Dio rocking in heaven, Halford should take over vocals for heaven and hell. They could call it Heaven and Halford

  • There is only one man for this song: Dio

  • Wow between Ozzy n Rob 2 of Birmingham's Finest huh? =]

  • I love Dio and all, but Rob absolutely sings the shit out of this song.

  • They should make a new album a tour!!!! , fuck the Epitaph tour :P

  • metal god!!!

  • Halfford

  • DIO owns!!!

  • Halford+Sabbath= PURE WIN!!!

  • Maravilhoso, de arrepiar !!!

  • You go past a certain quality level and comparisons of artists have to stop being about one being better than the other.

If you don't rate either Dio or Halford just form your own band and try to do what they do. Not that easy now is it?

  • @celticwitan

You're a fucking idiot. You may not have liked Dio's vocal style, but to say he sucked is completely ignorant.

  • @celticwitan I like Rob more than Dio by far. Don't get me wrong I love Dio too. However to say Dio sucked is complete ignorance he was one of the most talented vocalists to ever live.

  • @celticwitan

Let me try to imagine what Mr Halford might say to you in response.....

    Shut up, you moron.

Then i believe he would just walk away from you.

  • @celticwitan Yeah, I think you're right. DIO sucked so much that now he is considered the God of heavy metal...

  • @celticwitan Only a dumbass would say something like that...

  • @celticwitan

Because you are too much of a jackass to use a computer properly, I'll say this again. You are a fucking moron. Just because you don't like Dio's vocal style, doesn't mean he sucked. Not only that, up until Dio died his voice was still unbelievable, Halford's voice has dropped off quite a bit.

  • @SuicideNation

I agree!Altough Halfords voiceh as gotten better since he has stopped smoking!

Still, that guy is a total jerk!

  • @celticwitan, no dude... YOU suck.... especially for saying that about dio... you could never touch his vocal ability, so keep your mouth shut

  • @celticwitan My God, how can you be such an idiot...?!

  • rob and dio is better than the clown ozzy

  • @alexandrerocker The Best comment

  • You can't compare the two, because they don't make the same kind of music. I know it's both classic metal, but their styles are totally different. But damn, Rob sure did sound badass right there around 3:50 of this song. Fucking killed it!

  • As always, Halford makes it his own.. I kinda like this version as if Halford could have done some studio stuff with Sabbath on the side or something.

3:12 he does kinda sound like Dio for a second there.

  • Rob Halford could of sang for any metal band, that is why he is a metal god.

  • I love Tony Martin but it would have been awesome if Sabbath did an album in the 90's with Halford singing after Dio left.

  • I just realized Rob isn't failing to achieve the notes in the chorus. He's actually changing up the melody. He's a genius.

    RIP Ronnie... Goodbye Priest...

  • You guys own a computer and yet you make statments without knowing the facts

    1) Black Sabbath was part of the tour with Ozzy for Ozzfest

2)RJD got sick and couldn't sing those nights. Iommi got Halford to sing and he learned set earlier in the day.

    3) Halford was just filling in. Fight was his band.

    4) There was NO BEEF with Ozzy and RJD on the tour

    5) Stop comparing who's better and what who you want to hear singing in what band. Love it for what it is.

  • @jaystonerkstr Get your facts straight, my good sir. Rob has filled in for Black Sabbath twice. Once in 1992 and once in 2004, when Ozzy was back in the band. It was the fill-in at 2004 that the singer (Ozzy) was sick with bronchitis and couldn't sing. In 1992, Rob filled in after Dio quit because he didn't want to open up for Ozzy.

  • @jaystonerkstr

    1) This is pre-Ozzfest. That started after Ozzy came back from his "retirement". Black Sabbath weren't part of the tour. They just played the final two shows.

    2) RJD wasn't sick. He simply wanted no part of it and didn't feel it was right for Sabbath to support Ozzy. Search youtube for a video called "Ronnie James Dio - Brutally Honest Tour Bus Interview 1994" and hear the story from the man himself.

    3) true

    4) see 1 and 2

    5) Agreed (Though RJD is best!)

  • No sense in comparing the two. Very different styles, Rob did pretty good considering. Not too many would attempt to emulate Dio. Even the metal God has trouble using his "own voice" at times, i am certain he had Dio's voice running thru his head as he performed. Picture if you will Bret Michael's trying to sing Priest! "Not Pretty".....so that's my point. Rob and Ronnie both are Metal God's in their own unique ways. They each have their own style. No point in comparing the two.

  • @Bretster2010 Exactly, it would isn't the same style, Rob can't sing songs like Holy Diver or The Last in Line like Ronnie did, and Ronnie probably couldn't have singed songs like Painkiller or Screaming for Vengeance, they are both awesome singers but with different styles.

    R.I.P. DIO!

  • Rob has balls to even attempt singing Dio material. Even the metal God himself while singing someone elses material ends up trying to emulate and that's where just about every singer has trouble. It is possible to sing just about "anything" if one can learn how to use their "own" voice at all times, but that's easier said than done. Use your own voice and find the right key and "yes" you can sing just about anything, but that doesn't mean it will sound good. Rob had balls to do it it all.

  • Good job on this one, Rob. And everyone who doubts Halford's overall skill as a vocalist should just give a listen to Dreamer Deceiver/Deceiver.

  • Good job, Rob. You sang it your way.

  • I think its the opposite, Halford can sing anyones song, listen ALL Judas Priest albums (not just the same 3 songs come on), his vocal range is sick

  • There's another side of heaven... <<<<Halford way!!!

Fucking epic, it's such a touching chorus. Love Rob, Love Ronnie, best singers ever!!!

  • I love it. This was always my favourite song from 'Dehumanizer' and it's cool to hear a legend such as Rob Halford sing it. I remember Rob saying in an interview a few years ago that he has every single Black Sabbath album on his iPod :D

  • genial family metal

  • Halford should do a record with Sabbath!!! He could go fifty fifty Priest and Sabbath and that would be a great idea. If not maybe Gillan Sabbath will come to life again.

  • @UpTheSnakes If Tony and the guys has chosen to continue as Heaven & Hell, I'd have liked the idea of Rob Halford being the guy, but you know Priest's reputation as a steady touring and recording machine, plus Rob has his own solo career on the side. It would've been nice.

  • Let's end this crap. Halford can doing this justice in Ronnie's honor. Ronnie could never do Judas Priest, if the shoe were on the other foot.

  • @magick1969 Well Halford is a lot more versatile as a singer Priest is all about screaming just like Deep Purple but come to think of it Ronnie could handle some Priest songs for sure, will never know which... RIP DIO!!!

  • @magick1969 yes they can with proper preparation. If disturbed could successfully cover priest, so can dio

  • @jungleman68 A 6 year old could cover Living After Midnight.

  • @sinbysin666 a six year old can cover any judas priest song

  • @jungleman68 I advice you to listen to some more sophisticated priest songs. I would like to see Disturbed cover any song from the Painkiller album. It's pretty much vocally impossible for the singer of Disturbed.

  • We've seen Black Purple and Black Priest. Where is Black Zeppelin :D

  • @CannibaLouiST Oh God, don't make me cum, the thought of Robert Plant with Sabbath is mind blowing.

  • @wwerulestna Would be fucking great with Robert but not possible I guess. Hope Sabbath will be back for Born Again era reunion with Ian Gillan. There are rumours they are writing something together.

  • @UpTheSnakes They are in a new band together with Jon Lord, Jason Newsted and Nicko McBrain called WhoCares to record a charity single called "Out Of My Mind". Though I'd like to see a better name for the band, I'd definitely want to hear what they come up with and to see if they go forward with anything else in the future.

  • nice....i still think the name metal god should go to ronnie james dio....he just had a more pure, clear voice than halford imo.

  • if Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Vinnie Appice decide to Tour as a different bAND It would be cool to see them Team Up With Halford. R.I.P. Ronnie James DIO

  • @abe1sapien I'm with you. Now that the H&H era is over I hope we won't wait years and years until new Iommi stuff will see the light. So sad Dio has gone...

  • @abe1sapien I for one know I'de go see that show in a heartbeat

  • good

  • Halfords voice fits the dio era sabbath but it doesnt work for the ozzy era stuff. but it still would have been kool to see

  • Heven and Halford

  • Dio-era songs suit Rob's voice, especially this one :)

  • i prefer halford over dio, but ozzy will always be the singer i will thin of if someone speaks about sabbath

  • Dio has more power and a huge head voice range, Halford a higher falsetto range... Both icons... They certainly respect each other.

  • @wpe halford don't sing in falsetto, only head voice

  • Halford is the vocal sabbath should have instead of ozzy!! but Dio is Dio!!

  • @NrcFloyd, i'd disagree with a bit, because than we wouldnt have JP, and some of their early wonders like The Ripper, or Dissident Aggressor.

what SHOULD have happened, is since Dio jumped out of BS, and Halford hopped out of JP, roughly the same time, they should of switched bands.

  • Both are leghends, and while Ronnie may have a stronger voice Rob has a much better range.

    \

  • @rhv430 id rather have a stronger voice with pretty good range, cuz thats what ronnie had, he had pretty good range, imo, but Robs voice wasnt that "Sky Cracking" like Ronnie's so ill always prefer ronnie james dio over any other singer,

  • @MrTylerRich Pretty good??? He had awesome range maybe Rob and Ian Gillan were better in screaming and had a bit wider ranges but in clean singing (without screaming and falsetto caused he didn't use this much but he could) Ronnie was unbeatable. Ronnie was a full tenor I guess but I'm not sure here.

  • Dio, nuff said. Sure, Rob is a great singer and one of my favs, but as good as Dio, never. Not in a million years could any compete with Dio.

  • @icantchooseusername thank you (: thats all u need to say haha XD

  • Halford slays Dio

  • @bendover2006 are you kidding?

  • this is the only metal vocalist that can compete with ronnie james dio. my personal taste is with dio. he does this best. but nobody else can cover it as well as rob did. however, i prefer dio. LOVE YA ROB

  • Judas Sabbath! or Black Priest!

  • @JudasPriestSlayer Black Priest sounded coolest

  • @JudasPriestSlayer The could also be called fight the priest

  • @JudasPriestSlayer Heaven and Halford!

  • @Legionbass19 I guess great minds think alike

  • @JudasPriestSlayer Hahahh, Black Priest sounds SICK!!!

  • Halford > Dio >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ozzy

  • Now Imagine, say, Bruce Dickinson singing this - this would suck bad ass! And Halford did a great ojb here.

  • Halford and Sabbath are Gods!!!! And this songs sounds a lot more mean and disturbing with Rob. They should release it officially on DVD, I've heard there is a pro shot from those two nights with Halford!!!!

  • not a replacement to dio. but works well none the less. halford is still a bit too mainstream maybe. the begining of this solo always makes me wanna go nuts n rock out

  • I was there for this! Halford made them sound SOOOO EVIL!!!! Glorious!!!! He should have hung around and recorded an album with them!

  • @navgearhead man that would be pure epicness!!! i would pay ALL of my fortune for that album :P

  • I wish Halford would have stayed with the band. Imagine a studio album with Halford and Sabbath? Wow, that would have been awesome.

  • I wish a live Album of this concert existed.

  • Ozzy did more than insult Dio in an interview, during the "diary of a mad man tour" back in 81 or 82 Ozzy will bring a dwarf on stage and hang him and call him ronnie. he also bad mouth tony and gezzer. The ozzy Camp wanted to brake up the Dehumanizer Dio/sabbath 1992 band and they did! it dont matter cuz today they are back together again as Heaven and Hell. The original band will never reunite cuz the dumb fuk ozzy is suing Tony.

  • really evil metal beast!!!!

  • jesus, his voice is perfect

  • It was not childish that Dio refused to chare the same stage with ozzy. Dio has allways been a man with morals and pride and dignity. For many yeras Ozzy has bad mouth not only Ronnie but also Tony and Gezzer. but thats not the only reason why Dio didnt go, there is more to it! i know!! but is not even worth mentioning it.

  • Comment removed

  • the kick drum sounds like sh*t in that live mix

  • For me it sounds fine. I like Vinny's drumming:).

They should release this officialy. Iommi should have a soundboard from those 2 nights somewhere.

  • Did Dio leave the band just because they were opening at a show for Ozzy? Has he got something against Ozzy?

  • yea. they are hating each other like nothing else

  • Still, it's pretty wreckless and childish for a rock legend.

  • Ozzy insulted Dio in some interviews or something back then. And Dio's pride didn't allow him to step in a position of a singer in a band really supporting Ozzy and classic Black Sabbath reunited for few song. He didn't wanted to be a singer in a band supporting Ozzy live. That's why he quit. Maybe it's childish maybe not but it was his decission. Then again I fucking love this Halford Sabbath band;) It's a shame that Halford didn't last with Sabs for a record or two. That would be BIG!!!!!

  • Replying to RockJunkie04, i agree, Halford is a legend and deserved a spot for at least one album, maybe take the focus off his gayness eh? Naw im not knocking the guy, his choice is his choice, he still makes the music and fans go ape-shit over him, woulda been nice to have that ONE album tho.

  • overrated?check out sin after sin and stained class!all of it,peace

  • It's a bit rough.

  • No matter, what all you guys think..i think Rob did an outstanding job taking over Dio's spot, and should've deserved at least one album with Black Sabbath, i think it would've been seriously bad-ass and wicked... =) i still think Rob Halford and Tony Iommi should collaborate on a song or two ;)

  • the closest is the cover of the wizard halford did with geezer, bill ward, and wino from the obsessed.

  • I actually like this version, even if I find the diction a bit to flambouyantly gay. "Onward all you crystal soldierrrrrs"?

  • i wonder how much time rob had to prepare for this. outstanding. you can tell the crowd is blown away.

  • Maybe he listens to BS in his spare time and is a great fan. lol

  • Rob Halfford did a great job that night. But he is NOT Ronnie James Dio by a long shot!!!! Rob Halford is too PRIEST. Dio was suposed to have been there that night. Sabbath belongs only Ozzy and Dio. I understand perfectly Ronnie not wanting to share the same stage with ozzy. But they need it somebody and Rob Halford was a good choise, but only cuz he is a metal god. Ronnie can sing anyones song but nobody CAN sing Ronnie's songs. Thats my opinion!!!

  • @soMatISatIOn .. Well thats your opinion. Mine is that Dio turned Sabbath into a more vibrant, energetic, powerful hard rock band. Dio REVIVED Sabbath. The only good Ozzy/sabbath was the first 5 albums and years, after that they where dead. Ronnie made Sabbath (his own Sabbath)... and one more thing... Nothing can be more annoying than Ozzy's DUCKIE voice and the Richard Nixon peace sign. and all that hand claping like a seal waithing to catch a fish.

  • @mybigpinga nothing is more annoying for me than dio's constant Yeahh ohhh huuum yeahh ohhhohhh even during the fucking solos

  • @soMatISatIOn It's call "IMPROVISATION" Many great vocalist in all types of Music do it! ozzy

  • @soMatISatIOn ur a fag and thats what made ronnie unique!

  • @mybigpinga I'm in total agreement

  • @mybigpinga hahaha thats the funniest comment ive ever read about ozzy, i really dont like ozzy as a singer, and besides tony iommi carried black sabbath while ozzy built his fame off of it, fucking freeloader.....

  • @soMatISatIOn That's a crock of shit!

  • @mybigpinga

So true, no one can sing like Dio.

  • @mybigpinga Completely agree with you. Halford is THE metal god with JP, but no one can replace RJD.

  • @mybigpinga You're right man. Rob did a great job and I think it's awesome! But as you said "covers" will never match the original eastethically(sp?).

  • @mybigpinga I am a fan of all the above mentioned bands but I like Rob Halford the best of all these singers and could have seen Black Sabbath being the best if RH was the singer because he has the greatest vocal range by a long shot. This does not mean they would sell more than the Ozzy era but it could have inspired Black Sabbath to go towards more progressive elements.Dio was better than Ozzy though by a lot!

  • No....the girl from Arch Enemy sounds like Rob Halford as does almost every lead singer out there for a heavy metal band. Rob did anything he wanted LONG before all these new bands came in. Pat yourself on the back for one of the most ignorant comments on this video!

  • Yeah, Rob's voice translated very well with Dio's material. I always liked the Dio era of Sabbath best, so when Rob did Ozzy's stuff, I just didn't care for it. It's still cool to hear him sing it though, we're talking the Metal God singing with the fathers of metal.

  • For those that wanna know reference about what Pavarotti said, just google "Pavarotti Halford" and you will find it, for any reason I can't post the link here, but you can check it!!!

HALFORD you really rock my world, you are the best, you are the one, you are THE METAL GOD!!!

  • Im sittin here thinking "man that would suck if you were expecting to see Dio!" But then I thought nobody else in heaven OR hell could do it better than HALFORD! Horns UP!

  • I've seen them with Dio twice... it would be a once (or twice in Halford's case) in a lifetime chance to see Halford with Black Sabbath/Heaven and Hell. That would be one ov the most amazing things ever.

  • I was there at the 2004 show with halford singing for sabbath and that was a fuckking amazing once in a lifetime thing. The crazy thing is, some people got mad and left, I was like, what the fuck is wrong with these guys??

  • both are lengends of rock metal, they're the greatest singers with bruce dickinson ,voice, personality, charisma but i prefer ronnie, ronnie is a god!

  • Yeah but the real METAL GOD is HALFORD XD!!!

  • Rob Halford is the best vocalist, and I' m not writing this due to this song.

Pavarotti has also commented Rob Halford to be one of the best, if not best, and Pavarotti's a legend, so take that!

  • do you have a reference for that?

  • rob halford is the best vocals ever!

    dio is amazing too

    BLACK SABBATH FOR LIFE

  • this evil song fits better to halford. Dio is good in fantasy/epic stuff like heaven and hell, or fast things like Turn on the Night or Neon Knights.

But this song is fucking amazing with the metal voice Halford.

  • he sings here better than a Dio! :O

  • ya that's halford. best singer of all time!

  • This is awesome - Halford sounds great singing the Dio stuff. He nails a few Ozzy songs too like Symptom of the Universe.

  • I prefer Halford than Dio's studio on this one ! Deshuminizer has an horrible sound . Halford gives another dimension !

    Thanks Ozzy for that !

  • Halford rooooocks!!! ... Anyway DIO era is the best Black Sabbath time in my opinion ... Thanks Ozzy for make us listen.

  • @gaderius Tony Martin Sabbath and Ozzy Sabbath is great too!

  • @CrushJehovah yes indeed!!!

  • Doesn't sound like Halford.

  • Sure, Halford may sound a bit strange singing a Dio vocal, but imagine the reverse. Could Dio belt out Screaming for Vengeance anywhere near what Halford does?

  • no, precisely that's why no one of them should sing songs wroten for each other.

  • I don't know about that. I still think it is interesting to hear one great singer sing another great singer's song, even if not the result is not as good.

  • "wroten"

LOL. That's why you shouldn't be commenting, but should instead be in adult learning classes (or kindergarten, depending on your age).

  • I personally think Dio sounds better singing Ozzy songs (like on Live Evil etc). It's a shame they don't anymore. But Halford can nail anything!

  • omg judas sabbath but this is cool

  • Black priest is more like it!

  • lol might nick tht name for band lol

  • the thing is that Rob and dio singing styles are completely different in my opinion Rob is a better singer but Dio is really close. Also remember Rob was a last minute thing because Dio didn't like how he was being dissed by Ozzy (because Ozzy knows Dio is a better singer and frontman) and Dio refused to play

  • I don't know about Dio being a better singer and frontman, What Ozzy did with Sabbath was pure magic. Also he gets the crowd going like nobody else! Ozzy actually has really a beautiful voice. Did you hear Him singing "Changes" with daughter Kelly? When she sang a line, then Ozzy sang, right there you could tell how much she sucks! Dio is an awesome singer though but, I do not think he's that good of a frontman. All he needs is his voice though to get by anyway.

  • I think Dio is odviously better, but this is definatly a unique version and I like it.

  • Agreed. Halford did quite well, especially considering it was sort of a last minute thing.

  • Not so very good version. It is incredible, doesn't matter if you have a high pitch, if you don't have the necessary power, you just can't sing Dio.

  • True but you can't sing Halford either, they are both amazing in their respective bands. Fuck yeah rock on!

  • Ok I am not predudiced in any way at all. Lets make that very clear. But Tony looks very worried in that picture.

Not the best Sabbath I've heard though. But then again, nothing beats Painkiller.
