This was a problem in my classes. Rather than break the phones, I held them for a week & then released them to the students ... with a dead battery. They'd beg me to return their phones or at least turn them off. I'd edit the settings to leave the backlight on for 1+ minutes. The kids only got voicemails but not their text messages. After the first month of each school year - kids turned their phones off or left them in their lockers.

I once had two female students go into a satanic worship with their eyes rolling in the back of their heads, and they were yelling "fuck God". They are also using Ouija Boards in class-- and calling up evil spirits. Many of these students are on illegal drugs and possessed with the devil. Last week a student was caught smoking crack in the back of the classroom. The teacher was sitting in the classroom!

Dear teacher, this is not a good way to "educate". Legally, you must pay for the phone. You have the right to be respected while you're teaching but you have no right whatsoever to destroy the phone and act as an ignoramus being, Sorry to say this but you should NOT be teaching if you don't have the passion to do so.
