Hey men i have installed ubuntu 8.10 The first time I opened them they were working just fine but from the second time when I am starting them they are giving me a comand line. What shuld i Tab to Start ubuntu normally?
do you know where I could get clarification on what intel x86 is. I have googled it and still don't understand. All the info I found stated it is a pin structure in the CPU and brand doesnt matter (ie amd, intel) as long as it meets the pin requirement.
It is not so much the Pin requirement as not all are the same there are a lot of different types of sockets even from intel... the x in x86 could represent anything. The original 8086 from Intel was a 16 bit processor, this then moved onto 32 bit and nowadays we are seeing x64 or x86-64. Basically the more bits a processor can compute the more memory it can handle... The architecture is more to do with how x86 processors process the information and the instruction sets it uses.
thanks gr1. another useful video
