  • x86<-- 32-bit x64- 64bit

  • What is intel X86?

Great set of videos btw, keep up the good work

  • Its a CPU-standard for 386+ processorns from Intel. Its also called an architechture.

Others are for example AMD, RISC, and Alpha.

  • do you know where I could get clarification on what intel x86 is. I have googled it and still don't understand. All the info I found stated it is a pin structure in the CPU and brand doesnt matter (ie amd, intel) as long as it meets the pin requirement.

  • It is not so much the Pin requirement as not all are the same there are a lot of different types of sockets even from intel... the x in x86 could represent anything. The original 8086 from Intel was a 16 bit processor, this then moved onto 32 bit and nowadays we are seeing x64 or x86-64. Basically the more bits a processor can compute the more memory it can handle... The architecture is more to do with how x86 processors process the information and the instruction sets it uses.
