In the budget of 2006 the Conservative Govt attached a clause that would permit "sub prime" mortgages in Canada. Long term mortgages like 40 yrs was introduced thinking it would be good for us. Then the US housing burst happened and now we are exposed to this same dangers because of the Conservatives. I don't prefer Quebec over Alberta, both are equivalent in my opinion, although on different end of the political spectra. The Canadian people voted the conservatives into power - even though it was a small percentage of Canadians. This decision should be respected by the opposition - it is not. But no, lets bail them out and have them raise the cost of goods using the excuse of the falling dollar.
Bankruptcy still allows big executives to get out with their pockets still full. They would never allow restrictions and control. They have had a few yaers now to release a different car all together i.e. fuel cell to the public, but they are too tied into the oil companies to do such a thing. They are not selling cars because they are not brining out anything new to the table. Trust me if they fall, there will be new better companys in the auto industry, waiting for their chance to take over.
I was watching CPAC this morning just before they shut parliment down. There are approximately 6 main issues that the coalition parties have agreed to tackle. they've agreed to work together for 18 months without 'fighting' so-to-speak.

The Libs were the best. It was unconstitutional, yes. But it was a technicality. All they needed to do was get the approval of parliament which was easy (themselves + NDP would pass it). Its too late for action, anyways. What you need to ask is why Harper wants to eliminate public funding so the opposition goes bankrupt and he stays as P.M. forever without opposition! He could re-write the constitution without the province's approval if he has 250 seats, which would be easy without opposition!

Then the US housing burst happened and now we are exposed to this same dangers because of the Conservatives. I don't prefer Quebec over Alberta, both are equivalent in my opinion, although on different end of the political spectra. The difference is that the PC tries to say that it reneged it's Alliance roots and represents more then Western Canada, while the BQ is honest about being a Quebec-representation party. I don't trust the PC in that regard.

The Canadian people voted the conservatives into power - even though it was a small percentage of Canadians. This decision should be respected by the opposition - it is not. People complain about voter apathy, why bother voting if the opposition is just going to decide that Canadians couldn't make the right decision on their own? I've never seen such greed.

Bankruptcy still allows big executives to get out with their pockets still full. They would never allow restrictions and control. They have had a few yaers now to release a different car all together i.e. fuel cell to the public, but they are too tied into the oil companies to do such a thing. I was watching CPAC this morning just before they shut parliment down. There are approximately 6 main issues that the coalition parties have agreed to tackle. they've agreed to work together for 18 months without 'fighting' so-to-speak.
